I also see Henley as the next big thing to come out of the academy.

I just hope he is given some opportunities this year.

It would seem unlikely though given the (pointless) Ribeiro signing...

If he looks better than Ribeiro in training and Salgado needs a rest I'm sure he'll see the pitch.

He's going to be a good one, (Henley) level headed lad from what I have heard, good family behind him too, that makes one hell of a difference.

maybe start celebrating! or have a couple of glasses of champers.

everything points to kentaro having been binned off.

onouha.. would cost 6m + 45-50k per week.

we havent shown interest in him ,but if samba is sold, that may change. hear bolton will move for him if they sell cahill!

theyve already had discussion.. with his old agent.

Ribeiro will only join pending to a work-permit. And I can't see him getting a work permit as he haven't played international games. So this is a nogo!

Also Tetteh Bangura has joined an turkish side for around £3m from AIK.

If you're that confident I'll bet you £50 we dont

Can't see Rovers going down, there are alot of worse teams in the league....we have bought in two promising young players and we also have Formica and Rochina as new signings!

Expect an nr9 to join before window shuts and also a really good central defender and we will have a nice season!

People seem to be missing the point that Dunn, Roberts and Nelsen need replacing on top of all the others that have gone.

Championship here we come as the Raos screw the life out of us !

you are getting boring now!!!

We have a excellent youth system at rovers, so maybe Lowe, Henley/Pearson and Hitchcock could replace these.

Let's see who will sign in the next 2 weeks. Judge the squad after the transfer window closes.

So many people are so negative on here it's amazing.

Jal, are you going to Ewood Park on Saturday?????

i agree with you. as it stands now. QPR.. swansea and norwich dont convince me.

wigan, newcastle, wolves, fulham and everton dont impress me either.

lot will depend on what business the other clubs, but more importantly, what rovers do before the window shuts!

interesting read in telegraph about movement for players and finances, saying we were in for a spanish striker but was costing 12 mill but pulled out when they wereing asking 18 million

cant understand kean saying a deal for benjani "not dead."

surely benjani is just being kept dangling and is back-up incase of early injuries/ or if other forwards dont come in??

if not.. then why not sign him up earlier ??

The pessimistic side of me might suggest we have recently heard talk about Benjani because we realise the likelihood of bringing in a star striker is fading rapidly. We might just need him to make up the numbers? Maybe the low figure we offered and confident approach to his contract offer was done with a certain swagger because we thought we'd be bringing in better players to play ahead of him. Now, all of a sudden, just as transfer talk goes quiet, we're telling Benjani its decision time. I hope i'm wrong, because if we do beat the strong competition from Stockport, and he signs for another year, he might just make up a forward quartet of Roberts, Goodwille, Blackman and Benjani. That frightens me. A lot.

and I will be there on Saturday supporting my team as Always!!!

We will finish in the top 10 if we can make 3 or 4 signings in the next 2 weeks.

changed his tune on the 'best budget rovers have ever had' to #“The actual pounds available I don’t know. The banks are involved in that. I think there is a restructure on what we are trying to do with the debt of the football club.

“What I have done is I have gone for a player and when it has got to a level where it has proved too expensive I have advised the owners to pull out.

They told me to tell them when it was too much.”

patrickvalery.. your pessimism wont be helped by the article will it ? :(

that forward line you mention is terrible!

we wont go down.. as it stands now.

he could be being sensible, by not getting us to pay over the odds.. or he's waffling! ??

never known so many conflicting and contradictory press interviews.. in such a short space of time.

no wonder every1 is confused.

Rarely seen Rovers' supporters so split.

A decent start will be essential to our chances of survival.

A poor start and it's bye bye.

To me, it's clear, I think the 'strengthening' has already been done with Messrs Anderson, Ribeiro, Petro and Willie.

Time to cut the talk, talk and bullsh1t - it's reality what matters and the stark cold truth is that it's likely we will line-up on Saturday with not a single new signing of note made since last season finished.

I wonder if that was Osvaldo (sp). Aren't Roma close to getting him for 18m?

Quite an encouraging article that. Its good to hear Kean is heavily invlved in recruitment - the way it should be. The thing which bothers me are these 'active bids'. I don't know why, but i get the impression we grab some headed note paper, scribble a name and figure on it and fax it to a club somwhere. Then seemingly do bugger all about it. We always hear that these bids 'haven't been rejected', like no news is good news. Get on the bleeding phone and pressure them into giving an answer! Time is a ticking here. We should be acting with a tad more urgency.
