Transfer Window Chat Thread

I see Kean as a problem in the fact I think he is a bit of a nobody and its very difficult to play for someone with no high level achievements as a player, assistant manager or manager.

SO I don't think Kean will leave purely for the fact I bet his pay has at the very least doubled.

Anyway like he said by the end of the window we will know what was re-invested.

To judge now is like asking someone to sit a 3 hour exam and then after 1 hour saying, I'm gonig to mark it.

Well if you did look at someone exam after an hour you would expect them to be gettin some good ideas and theories down and working hard for a good end result not waiting til the last half hour to even start, however if you looked at steve keans exam after an hour you would see him colouring in a picture of him in the middle of Venkatesh and Balaji Rao holding hands with a rainbow in the backround!!

Has anyone shed any light on the player bids Kean mentioned in his press conference earlier this week?

(Finding anything amidst the waffle in the transfer section is impossible - even more so now the search facility does not work "[#10146] You do not have permission to use the search system")

Hi Fife, this was literally copied and pasted directly from Sky Sports so either Jones is mistaken or Sky have used a little artistic licence or maybe SAF thought it would impress a 19 year old from little old Blackburn. Who knows??

Yes I can go with that Dan. I think you are almost certainly right there. Sorry if you thought I was doubting your word (I wasn't by the way), but havng seen the man himself at one of his many visits to DAFC I just could not relate to that scenario.

This thread is hilarious.

Chill out people, save your anger for real opposition come the first game of the season as we tonk them.

You really think that will happen with the team we have got right now? And with the dressing room morale at rock bottom (OK I am assuming that bit ; but it is a fair assumption to make).

Say that Kean was telling the truth about his 'substancial' budget, we must wonder why we can't seem to sign any players.

I would speculate it is a combination of:

1) Kean has low/no pulling power amongst players

2) There are problems in the background between agents and our owners

3) There is no-one at the club to negotiate and clinch the deals

These need repairing quickly otherwise we are going to go into the season with a really poor squad and the prospect of J.Roberts and Andrews being regulars in the 1st XI = relgation.

I don't believe this is the squad we will have come first game.

I hope we go down...at least it'd justify all the moaners (yeah it's not justified moaning at the minute because *the transfer window isn't over...granted we're not signing anyone at the minute but can I kindly point back to the asterix).

Andy Cryer-the one person who gets repeatedly lambasted on here, has been right for the most part this window!

Surely that's Venkys? I've lost all interest to be honest. Too much chat of signing A,B,C and then reports of us not even being able to afford X,Y,Z.

See you all in mid August!

To me it seems like our owners veto a lot of transfers, but that Kean keeps trying. And not knowing his budget he has to adjust constantly, but as soon as a signing draws closer the owners deems the player not good enough either because they're playing Fantasy Football or because advisers from the Kentaro camp claim they've got someone better. I hope Kean managed to go to India because there's an urgent need to have a plan set in stone for the next month if we are to enjoy a reasonable succesful campaign.

If we don't make progress in the transfer market I suspect the probability of Samba leaving increases, which also makes me worry about Hoilett's future. We do have som promising youngsters coming through but throwing them into the lion's den this season might hurt their confidence as there is little chance of us avoiding a relegation scrap with the current squad.

Absolutely amazing beyond all comprehension.

I think people forget that a football club is a real life business, not just an untouchable entity that can not be affected by anything in the real world.

In February, I was lucky enough to accompany a group of Year 10 students to Ewood Park. Whilst there, they learned all about how the club works as a business. They said that 95% of the clubs income in based around being in the Premier League.

With this in mind, do you really think that with our current owners not wanting to spend any cash that taking away 95% of the club's income would be beneficial in any long or short term way?

Anyway, I've bought a decent amount of stuff at the club shop today so maybe they'll free that cash up for transfers....

Exactly right Brian.

There is a lot of information being falsely leaked that people are still believing to be true.

I don't think we are actively looking for anyone at the moment. Not a good situation.

The fans have been told through Kean there is money only 72 hours ago, but you choose to ignore it.

If you are expecting them to come out and say the exact budget then thats follish.

Or if you want them to tell you that same thing every day thats foolish.

The fact is any information they give is turned on them.

And I'm not pro Venkys, come August 31st I will hate them to death if we have no one decent in.

and I'll judge Kean on his first 10 games, because to be honest, I think he might flop, I'm 50/50 on that.

the biggest question remains why give out constant incorrect information then? Hell it's not even just one of them Kean, Belaji, official announcements and Mrs D have all released conflicting information in the last 4 weeks.

But I guess you still believe Keans this is the biggest budget Rovers have had in a long while (prior to jones Sale), Mrs Ds quote on the 5th of July stating we would have a defender and a midfielder signed within two weeks or Balajis quotes on the 8th of July stating we have the jones Money plus money put in by Venkys (the confirmed bids to date don't even add up to the jones money we would of received up front)...

Do you really think I meant that? I wouldn't be on a Blackburn Rovers board if I did would I?

I also understand that it's a business and that the people who own/play for the club are real people and not demi-gods who can't do a thing wrong. Hence why I believe that whilst Venkys are making mistakes, we should give them till the end of the window. That's just my view because I have no idea what's going on...I shan't believe anything until it's official.

I can't believe Cryer is getting any praise on here, him and the LET are always 2 days behind the news we get from others, the only reason they've got everything 'right' is because there has been no transfers. If we'd have signed 4 players they would've been the laast to tell us

Cryer is about as connected as a kibbutz

I feel like Venky's need to go on that trip. Maybe they'd learn a thing or two.

Maybe the Mark Hughes rumours are true, except they want him to sign as our marquee striker...

BPF you are so shameless its shocking. Your moaning on here about false info being spread on the boards which have no substance but then you finish off with how you think Venkys arent actively looking to get anyone. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. How is the view in that glass house of yours...

This is just stupid. At this rate our team for the 1st game will be something like:

Robinson

Salgado/Givet/Samba (if he's still here)/Olsson

Nzonzi/Andrews/

Hoilett/Formica/Pedersen

Roberts

That's worse than last season's team, and is asking for relegation. Especially if Samba goes. The squad will be much thinner too. In short, the manager and the other lot had better make some moves pretty quickly if they don't want to start the season badly. Oh, and that Jones interview has put me right off him. Hope he becomes the next David May.

Haha!

I think! That was the most important part of that sentence!

Stop being so touchy! I have an opinion too!!

If a bank suddenly told me that I had no money, I wouldn't be spending my time looking for expensive purchases!
