for 18mill, I'd go and ask Spurs for Crouch and Defoe, or Defoe And Pavlyuchenko, heck even Defoe, Bassong and Kean. Soldado might be good, but ill still try and go for one of the Spurs strikers.

Couldn't agree more, there's no guarantee that someone like soldado, as good as he is, will score goals in the premiership. The strikers mentioned at spuds would score goals for us, proven premiership players who have been there and done it

Pavlyuchenko is one of the most underrated player in PL. Even very underrated by his own club. A very good player and would score for club like us easily 15 goals.

What loan options do you guys think are interesting..?

Aquilana, Kranjkar, Onuhaha, Poulson, jonjo, Huddleston, Pienaar, Yobo etc etc.. some of those lads have to be available for loan and would all be an improvement.

I can't see us making any deals with spurs as they will want samba from our end as part of any deal, which is a shame. I would have loved to see krancjar, crouch etc at rovers.

For me it would be onuhaha or bassong for CB, kranjkar or pieenar for mid and Defoe or pav for striker.

Reality is we probably haven't got a hope in hell of signing any of them, any 2 of those i have mentioned and I for one would be well chuffed

About 20 times. Bassong for Samba is an unfunny joke that has been doing the rounds for a week or two. Like everything else to do with Samba it's unsubstantiated bullsh*t as NO BIDS have been lodged whatsoever.

Ive just read Nicko's article about the 50m and in there it says it would take 12m to get Cisse over here. Has he moved clubs yet or could this be the player we are after or am I just talking utter sh1t?

Cisse´s wage demands were too massive. But if player is worth for £12M do they have small wage? Loaning a good player from a big club isn´t a bad option. RSC or Mame didn´t work I know. Sturidge has soon Lukaku as a competitor also. He is fifth choice there. Finding a striker good enough is a huge task. Just hope we won´t end up signing C.Cole or Jerome from championship.

There are bids in for a couple of players so if one of the bids is accepted then things could start to move quickly. It would not surprise me in addition to signing a striker and defender, if we bring in a couple of player on loan.

Just to clarify what I meant about what nicko said we had to spend, he tweeted about a week ago that he expects us to sign a striker for about 3-4 million using the Kalinic money.

Kean mentioned yesterday in the presser that we have put bids in for 12 million.

Now I can only imagine thyat Kean said that to give people an idea on how much we were planning to spend. If we are not planning to spend about 12 million then he shouldn't have said what he did.

I'm hoping that we do have about 12 million to spend on a decent striker because it could be the difference between a top 10 finish or another relegation scrap.

The bit which was not true came later when nicko started denying that potential transfers were down the track.

What was done six weeks ago in the name of Rovers is in my opinion inevitably harming what we are trying to do now in the transfer market

Vukcevic would be an absolute steal at that price. We're seemingly only after a defender and a striker, though, so I doubt he's coming here.

Have to agree with that Philip. Difficult to sell the club to any prospective new signing when the club was running on very low credibility, caused in the main by a stupid quest for a marqee signing that could never have been pulled off.

In what mould is this vukcevic. Rampaging forward thinking or defensively minded. I know we have a couple of very promising creative midfielders but a Kevin nolanesque player would be welcome in my eyes. Big strong and can burst into.the box with power.
