MickeFIN Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I think we dont get any more players, Venkys want to watching now how we play with these players, and if we are we near relegation zone before christmas then they give little more money i think... thats sad but maybe true. So these kind of "dreams" http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/85/england/2011/02/22/2364362/report-blackburn-rovers-target-summer-moves-for-real-madrids we can only dreaming Why they have to talk crap all time starting beckham and ronaldinho, i dont understand that but that makes me angry every time. up the rovers!

Hughesy Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Simon Vukcevic set to leave Sporting Lisbon, his likely destination is Premier League, due to being in the last year of his contract he is available for around £2 million. I hope that we are all over this one, despite his discipline problems he is a very good player. Well your in touch with Venkys – so put the word in about him being available at that price and being ideal for us……never know it may well kick start something It would be CRAZY to let Samba go this late in the window, so IF we did – it has to benefit us. For me that would be Bassong as part of the deal & either cash or Defoe to make up the rest. + I would also demand that they loan us either Dos Santos, Krancjar or Bentley for the season (with a price agreed should we want them).
Eddie Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Signing Vukcevic may also help Petrovic settle (I realise that they are from different countries, but they would be able to communicate).
Veevs Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 We are talking spurs here.. wasn't Levy directly quoted as wanting 14m for pav.. wth Still to be fair to Venkys they are doing similar themselves, an extra few quid for PJ, cheap deals for Petrovic and goodwillie, dumping as many as they can off the wage bill, decent money for Kalinic.... would not be suprised though if our bartering to much leaves us with no more incoming players this summer.
vyeo Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Wearing a cynic's hat, but you can bid 12m for a player valued at 18m and it costs you nothing. Likewise, you can bid 20m for a 30m-rated player. You don't need to actually have the money to make a bid; there is no cost to bidding an eye-catching sum which is still below what it takes to secure the player. Because the bid will never be accepted, you'll never have to cough up the cash! It may even help you generate "positive news" for a while, and make it look like you are trying. Spin it well enough, and you may even win admirers for sticking to your guns and refusing to be held to ransom. The danger is that after a couple of attempts like this, you lose all credibility. I fear that we may be doing that - Witsel for 4m when the asking price was 7m, now Soldado for 12m when the asking price was 18m. I'll believe in Venky's when they actually deliver.

Yeah that could happen but once it gets into the last week before the deadline then i reckon deals will be done. I reckon these venky chaps will come good! Signing Vukcevic may also help Petrovic settle (I realise that they are from different countries, but they would be able to communicate). So is he a Croat then?(Vukcevic)

Indeed Montenegro used to be united with Serbia post the dissolution of the old Yugoslavia in 1992.
King Kenny's Magic Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 From Montenegro which is majority serb ethnic group. Indeed Montenegro used to be united with Serbia post the dissolution of the old Yugoslavia in 1992. Ah right cheers,so I'm assuming he's an international for Montenegro then?
Neal Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I must be the only one who isn't keen on Pavlyuchenco. I mean, he's better than what we've got and i wouldn't be upset if he came BUT if we have money to spend then we shouldn't even be talking of doing a deal with Spurs for Samba.. Full stop. He's 30 in three months and in his time for Spurs he's shown he can waste a lot of chances and is reliant on good service (when you have Bale...). Not for me thanks.
pick32 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Hugo Almeida, Daniel Güiza and Burak Yilmaz are three strikers who we should be looking at.
Eddie Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Ah right cheers,so I'm assuming he's an international for Montenegro then? He plays for the Montenegro side and, given his age, I would imagine that he played a few times for Serbia and Montenegro before the break-up.
roverandout Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 what kind of striker are we going to get for 3-6 million? i mean kalinic cost us 6 mil and he was a flop. That bracket range of striker wont be much of an improvement on the dross we have now.

That bracket range of striker wont be much of an improvement on the dross we have now. you say the same thing day after day, it's getting incredibly boring. Not every player who can score goals costs more than £6 million, West Brom having paid £4 million for Peter Odemwingie is just one example

Not every player who can score goals costs more than £6 million, West Brom having paid £4 million for Peter Odemwingie is just one example Javier Hernandez being the best example. Demba Ba was a freebie this summer. Many players out there, we just need to find the right one.....id be interested to find out how much Defoe would cost us to buy, he's a natural goalscorer.
Torgeir Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Ribero signs Perfect! Reminds me a little of a young Roberto Carlos.
he6rt6gr6m Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 What loan options do you guys think are interesting..? Aquilana, Kranjkar, Onuhaha, Poulson, jonjo, Huddleston, Pienaar, Yobo etc etc.. some of those lads have to be available for loan and would all be an improvement. I notice talksport have tottenham upping their offer to Bassong + cash.. hmmm Aquilani was excellent for Juventus last season, but fizzled out towards the end. (I suspect they told him to do that when they realised they weren't going to get European football and to bring his price down.) Poulsen? Kill me now.
Veevs Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Thought this was more interesting.. the usual waffle..
roverandout Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 i know it may sound boring but its true though, a blind man and his dog can see that.
roverssex Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Is it me or does there seem to be a little more information coming from the official website since the new board members arived?
he6rt6gr6m Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 maybe start celebrating! or have a couple of glasses of champers. everything points to kentaro having been binned off. onouha.. would cost 6m + 45-50k per week. we havent shown interest in him ,but if samba is sold, that may change. hear bolton will move for him if they sell cahill! theyve already had discussion.. with his old agent. Wage is steep for a guy sat on the bench at City. £6m is fair though, given his potential. I'd prefer him to most others.
Veevs Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 i know it may sound boring but its true though, a blind man and his dog can see that. Bit I don't understand is why have we bid for and been linked to soooo many wide players? Piatti and Veirha the best examples the later only just being ruled out due to his club sorting their finances.
he6rt6gr6m Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I think you should chnage your post Zac where Rovers interest is concerned about onuorah. We HAVE an interest, we HAVE talked to City about him and the fee for him is NOT £6M is £4m, as sunderland have already been quoted. 3 clubs are in for him (or where) as City have quoted. Bolton, Rovers and Sunderland. £4m?! Bargain! that why I said Soldado from Valencia. probably worth about 12 mil. He's Spainish. And he's excellent, which probably means we'll never get him. *Sigh*
joey_big_nose Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Ribero signs So is that our three in before the first game....? (well four if you include old Miles..) Still need two strikers, a central midfielder and a central defender....
