I must be the only one who isn't keen on Pavlyuchenco. I mean, he's better than what we've got and i wouldn't be upset if he came BUT if we have money to spend then we shouldn't even be talking of doing a deal with Spurs for Samba.. Full stop. He's 30 in three months and in his time for Spurs he's shown he can waste a lot of chances and is reliant on good service (when you have Bale...). Not for me thanks.

I'm kinda with you on this. Dealing with Spuds leads to discussions about Samba, no matter what.

But I also think Pav could be decent here. It's just complicated, given their interest in big Chris.

Perfect! Reminds me a little of a young Roberto Carlos.

:lol::tu:

on samba...

my fear is spurs will do what they have done for the last few years and go for players on the last day of the window.

IMO rovers should tell samba they wont sell or entertain bids after 24th August.. at the latest!

im not big on Pav either... as i said before.. he doesnt mix with rest of the squad according to 'arry.

he loves scoring against us though!

Another thing on this active transfer thing - the bids on on clubs "tables".

What happens if they have just decided to ignore them because the bids have been crap.

How long does this remain an "active" transfer for in Kean-time?

And regarding Kean's expectations that nothing will happen before Monday - perhaps this is because clubs have games to think about Steve.

Or maybe you haven't realised that the season actually starts tomorrow and not on the 22nd...(which is a Monday anyway?!)

Did Kean suggest that we had big money to spend on the main striker - he said "the price went from £12m to £18m" does this mean we were interested at £12m?

A big signing like that would help shut up the pundits who are having a field day putting us down.

I have no doubt that we are now serious about the bids we are making.

My fear is that the people receiving them are not taking them seriously after all the farces that Rovers have been associated with this summer.

Our only hope is that we are after players no other PL club is after because all other things being equal, all 19 other PL clubs look a better bet than playing for Kean and the Raos.

In all fairness in the full report those are the reasons he stated, clubs with a game at hand.

Not sure it's common practice to ignore bids. It's normal to put feelers out there to agents etc. before lodging an actual bid, I'm assuming that's the case in our 'active' bids as well. The likelihood that our valuation and the selling club's valuation is miles apart with regards to all our bids and therefore being ignored is not high.

There's more than enough to be negative about if our transfer activity stops here, but let's not twist every happening into something bad either :/

That's how I feel too. We were told by Kean at the start of the transfer window that we had a sizeable transfer fund, even WITHOUT selling players. We've generated over £22 million pounds in transfer fees, so should, going with the money that the owners said they were prepared to spend, give us a pretty sizeable amount of money to bid for players with. But with all the stories, rumours and failed bids, I would worry that clubs that were are trying to sign players from won't take our offers seriously and we end up losing out on players because of it.

We are a big joke out there.

I think we should try Ramm instead of hiring a nobody from Brazil who is 28 years old and proberly is useless according to the reports from people on this site.

No offence to the people on this site but I tend to trust the management and scouting network far more than them. In fact looking at Keans signing I dont think that any of them have failed. Apart from maybe Anderson, but that was no doubt forced upon Kean. Can we at least give the guy a chance before labelling him another Bruno Berner.

Why has Anderson failed? he has not even played yet. Your all post just contradicts its self as in one sentence your saying give a player a chance and the other writing a player off before he has kicked a ball.

No offence mate.

Kean's signing's to date have been relatively good, the permanent signings have an average age of 23.

RSC - gamble didn't pay off,

J.Jones - revelation,

Formica - Will be an important player this season,

Rochina - looks the part/ jury still out,

Petrovic/Goodwillie/Andersen - time will tell.

So, according to that list, only one player who has made a worthwhile contribution so far...

To be fair I did say maybe Myles Anderson. I also base that judgement on alot of Scottish friends of mine who believe him to be very poor, as well as the fact that he is Jerome Anderson's son, which probably means he wouldn't be at Blackburn had Jerome Anderson not been involved. No offence taken haha.
