XLM Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 By the way is -30 a record? I did say that the bids now were presumably serious but clearly most people disagree. I think people are just voting on you as a person.
hawkiiz Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Non-playing, non-staff? The mascot, shirts and sponsor are already announced so I'm struggling. Just a guess but, naming rights to Ewood? Yes, but he said fans should be happy about it, so doubt it is anything controversial like naming rights. And it was "big". "More great PR coming from Venkys tomorrow". Heaven knows what it might be (I can't even be sure it will be anything, as he would not tell me what he had heard).
SAS Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 New coach, could be big col. That's a wild guess. 2121: FOOTBALL -Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean tells BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme he may add more Scottish players to his Ewood Park squad before the transfer window closes at the end of August. Taken from BBC website. Could it be that one or more of these live bids is on a scottish player. Can't think who we would go for.

Problem is the "announcement" is non player, non staff related..? Don't understand what it could be. Rovers are completely debt free?
goodwillie_style Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/14511608.stm Gregg Wylde and fraser fyvie are two we have looked at in scotland the past few weeks, we were linked to the aberdeen player last week by aberdeen fans

Probably Hutton at spurs Scotland don't have any other decent players that are available
SergioPeter89 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 That young lad at Aberdeen maybe? Fraser Fyvie? Seems like an decent player. Very talented. Aberdeen fans loves him.
chris Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Steve Kean tells BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme he may add more Scottish players to his Ewood Park squad before the transfer window closes at the end of August. Yes you didn't finish Keans quote he goes on to say: "I can't at this point name any names as that would be disrepectful to his current club, but yes he plays in Scotland, the deal is very close in the region of 300k, what I will say is he reminds me of a young Pele, he's 27.
goodwillie_style Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 robbie keane apparntly agreed personal terms to join la galaxy on $9 million 2 year deal
blue/white Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 robbie keane apparntly agreed personal terms to join la galaxy on $9 million 2 year deal well..... water finds it's level. And getting overpaid to boot.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 robbie keane apparntly agreed personal terms to join la galaxy on $9 million 2 year deal Two things: 1) don't they have a limited number of 'overseas' spots in MLS? They already have Angel and Beckham. 2) Fair play to the lad. He's getting paid an absolute fortune to live in a fantastic part of the world. Can't fault him for taking that deal at all.
chris Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 well..... water finds it's level. And getting overpaid to boot. 30/31 years old, he is going to destory that league, be a star again.

".... and we've gone in with a £300k bid for Pel... sorry young Jock... er... actually, sorry I can't mention his name. The bid has been in for a few weeks now. We're waiting to hear back from Pele, sorry, Jocks, club. But the bid is in. When we hear back, hopefully before the end of August, I'll see if we actually have that money available, but with the banks messing us about and everything it's not so easy, especially when we have had bids in for several players for ages now, one of which would cost us £12m but his club want £18m. Can you believe it? However, if we do have the £300k then we'll start talking wages. Hopefully we'll have the money for that and I'll probably fly over to Pune with some of the senior squad and Myles in order to find out. It's all good. Failing that we could ask Barry to find some of that £50m he has knocking about for a "marquee" signing. You know, I've got to laugh, but it was only seven months ago when we nearly signed Ronaldinho!" *shakes head and laughs to himself*
blue/white Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 30/31 years old, he is going to destory that league, be a star again. You forget that RK has been playing top flight footy for near on 15+ years I think that's why the returns have been diminishing for the boy. No body can withstand that much abuse. The MLS's concrete parking lot fields and distance to travel between matches will catch up or find ppl out. Did JP Angel or TiTi destory that league (just messin' w/ you!)?

hawkiiz Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Btw. I'm almost certain the big news of tomorrow is we are getting a statue or something of the late Ronnie Clayton.

Did JP Angel or TiTi destory that league (just messin' w/ you!)? Sorry JP Angel scored 58 goals in 102 games in America. I don't watch ameircan (soccer) football (I would if I could) so unless he gets two goals for scoring outside the 18 yeard box and 3 goals for scoring with his head....and 4 goals for taking a throw in. .....Thats a brilliant record????
SAS Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Btw. I'm almost certain the big news of tomorrow is we are getting a statue or something of the late Ronnie Clayton. Would tie in, perhaps renAming a stand..
hawkiiz Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Yep. Blackburn End will be renamed Ronnie Clayton Stand apparently. Would love for that to happen. Absolutely love it.
chaddyrovers Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Yep. Blackburn End will be renamed Ronnie Clayton Stand apparently. Would love for that to happen. Absolutely love it. great decision by the club. well done to the owners and Paul Hunt
