Thank God for the Saviour Steve Kean then.....where would we be without him?

"Plus, just read the Kean Smalling quote... If you can't tell that he's comparing them in terms of them being noticed at an older age than is usual there is something seriously wrong with you."

Nothing wrong with me, Did he liken Formica to Batistuta...ye! Goodwillie to Rooney?...ye? Wake up and smell the coffee, Kean is clueless. Where has this Kean love-in come from?

The mans a puppet and has no idea what hes doing. In an interview last season after a defeat he stated we had more corners than the opposition......BRILLIANT!

I'm not praising Kean. The jury's still out on that one for me. Neither pro nor anti.

He did keep us up though (argue about the wording of that if you like but it's a fact), something we were led to believe he wouldn't by the Allardyce fans.

And actually read the Smalling comment. If you do and you still can't see that he meant in terms of when they were discovered then there is no hope. Again I'm not talking about his other comments, or arguing about his competancy.

You can't judge owners over as short term as you would judge a player, or even a manger. They haven't even been here a year.

And why are Williams and Finn such bastions of all that is good and true? Lets not forget they hired Ince, they oversaw £31,000,000 net transfer profit still leaving the club £38,000,000 in debt. They also deemed Venkys to be credible enough to take over the club. That shouldn't make you think that they did a poor job, it should show you how difficult a job it is looking after a small town club in a league full of billionaires.

Can I just point you back to the official offer document for the purchase of Rovers (still on the main rovers site).. time to judge the owners has long past, they failed to live up to most of the assurances given when they purchased the club, quite a few of which they broke within weeks of taking over.

The Venky's Board has given assurances to BRFCI that Venky's:

(a) will commit funds on a consistent and systematic basis to future transfer and/or loan activity; <--- FAIL

(B ) intends to continue to support the existing management team and staff, and that it is committed to

the future development of, and investment in, the Club’s academy and youth infrastructure; <--- FAIL

(e) will seek to develop and improve commercial performance across sponsorship, the Club's kit deal

and general merchandising activity; <--- Giving sponsorship away is not improving commercial performance in anyones books

In line with this, pursuant to the terms of the Share Purchase Agreement, Venky's also has entered into

the following contractual commitments with BRFCI and the Club:

(a) the principal activity of Blackburn Rovers will continue at all times to be that of a professional

football club; <-- FAIL

(B ) the current President, Vice Presidents and Honorary Vice Presidents of Blackburn Rovers will not

be removed from those positions before June 2011 without the prior written consent of those

individuals; <-- FAIL

Commenting on the Offer, Anuradha J Desai, the Chairperson of Venky's, said:

“We are very proud to be associated with Blackburn Rovers, a team with whom we share many values

and ambitions. Going forward we plan to focus on leveraging the global influence in establishing

Blackburn Rovers as a truly global brand. We will absolutely respect the Jack Walker legacy and will be

actively supporting the organisation to ensure that Blackburn Rovers remains one of the best run clubs

within the Premier League. We are particularly pleased that the deal has full support of the Walker

Trustees, the Chairman and the management team who will of course remain in place with our full

support." <--- FAIL within weeks

Please note the above are from official publically available documents (available here on the rovers site rovers official site, not made up paper waffle.

The debt btw was 21m (from publically available company reports) which was taken on by Venkys London (Venkatesh and company spokesman quotes) they are also directly quoted as putting in an immediate 10m plus a further 5m pending in January.. however it appears since then we have gained a further chunk of debt which has whiped out our funding for summer transfers giving us a net of +16-18m (quotes on further debt taken directly from Keans recent quotes about bank debt restructuring).

It's odd.

Suddenly I feel a lot warmer in regards to our owners.

They have spent a tiny amount of the money brought in but we are sponsored by a charity.

We are still managed by an inexperienced manager with a terrible record but we have renamed a stand after a player.

Maybe i'm just happy because Kean kept us up last season, despite getting us there in the first place.

Perhaps my positive attitude is based on the fact that anything negative these days, instantly gets a -70 rating...

Anyway, the truth is...we were starting to look better towards the end of last season. Long may it continue. I've decided that it is pointless complaining about anything anymore because there is nothing I can do to change a thing and people just get mad to stop themselves becoming concerned. So what's the point? We are Rovers fans and those of us that have been around for a while know that supporting this club is a rollercoaster ride without a safety harness.

I think we are going to get some players in before deadline, I'm confident of that.

But for now, let's just start with playing Wolves off the pitch again...

Tomorrow will be the first time in a long time that I have not been at Ewood Park. I'll be sat here at 10am watching though. To those at Ewood tomorrow, I'll envy every one of you.

Fair play BPF.. lets get this season underway :)

Hell despite how negative I may sound still a rovers fan, I just get really frustrated when the overly positive planks wander in speaking utter rubbish about improved squads, Kean having a good record, unknown players being brilliant before they have proved themselves, Venkys investments, no financial issues, how everyone who posts something negative is evil or how we should trust what Venkys say... there is a reality we have to adhere to and fallacies breed extreme negative responses. The board has not been helped lately by an influx of people so called inside knowledge, the strange mixed messages coming from the club and crucially the incessant bickering between board members with some people being horribly abused for having an opinion that isn't liked.

If Venkys lived up to promises made, didn't make official and unofficial announcements and back away from them I would forgive them, I can't but I still support the club and there is nothing I can do about the owners.

Lets all go hug some trees or something.. we are after all fans of the same club, most of us from the same area and individuals in our own right (hell you may find the person you are slagging of on here is really someone you like outside of message board life).

If you are going to post something positive/negative please back it up with a good argument/proof etc.. don't and more than likely you will get a response from the more realistic people or from the extremists and yet another pointless 12 page bun fight will commense.

Anyways back to transfers.. anyone else find after so many leaked links (79 now) it very odd that not a single person here has a clue who the four players are that we have bid for?

But this active bid statement just isn't going anywhere? We seem to take a very long time to find agreements - maybe I'm wrong but it seems this way. I know the deadline is september but I don't hear any positive transfer talk.

Right, I’ve just about had my limit now! This is going to be my first and last rant! Mods, please feel free to move this if you feel it’s in the wrong place, wasn’t really sure where the best place to put it would be! I’ve not been a member of the site for too long as you can see, and don’t often post, but I’ve just about had enough of it. As an internet forum it is of course all about opinion, well here’s my two-penneth-worth. If you don’t like it or have the opposite opinion, or even if you do like it and share my views, don’t bother quoting it or replying to it because I wont be around to see it. Since the arrival of our new owners it seems three camps have sprung up, those pro, those anti and those that have taken a back seat and merely read the stuff put on here, without getting too involved and being prepared to wait and see what happens. I used to quite enjoy coming on and seeing what people thought, but recently it seems to have turned into a school playground willy waving contest. Have your opinion fine, but when it comes down to personnel insults and constantly having a go at each other it goes beyond an opinion. I’m neither pro or anti the owners, I think they’ve made mistake but at the same time I do believe they really do want to do good for the club. One thing that really gets under my skin is how the word Venky’s seems to have gained some kind of dark undertone, almost like the owners are nothing to do with the club, like there is no connection between them and the club at all. And yes I’m going to say it, I do believe some of that has racists undertones due to the nationality of the owners, not saying everyone has that view, but I’ve heard some of the abuse hurled from the terraces! Anyway, moving on from that, I simply can’t handle the constant sniping and bickering that goes on on here anymore, have your say, fine, say what you believe fine, but when it comes down to jumping on another poster or being selective in what little handgrenade you decide to drop it goes beyond being enjoyable anymore. That goes for those pro and anti the owners, both sides seem to be more than capable of selecting the relevant little snippet of information that suits their stance the best. A couple of things ended up being the straw that broke the camels back, firstly, Alan Nixon’s article in the mirror about getting Welbeck on loan and apparently Samba training on his own. I used to enjoy Nicko’s input, but it does seem recently that his articles have become more hostile towards the club, and I think that article was a well aimed dig at the club at the very start of the new season and inevitably it will get some of our fans wound up to the hilt prior to todays game. I really do think that was the aim of it! And from the looks of it on here he seems to have hit his mark. Secondly, the negative response, by some poster on here, to the possible renaming of the Blackburn End to the Ronnie Clayton Stand. Seriously? We are honouring one of our greatest ever players, ensuring his name never dies within the club, but some still try and hijack the subject and somehow twist it back to their argument against the owners! I mean for goodness sake have a little bit of respect eh?? I for one wrote to John Williams on Ronnie's passing and urged him to make sure that the club remembered Ronnie's name is never forgotten.

I’m a Rovers fan, be it John Lewis, Jack Walker or the Roa family that own the club, be it Ronnie Clayton, Alan Shearer, Bruno Ribeiro or Keith Andrews that run out the tunnel on a match day. If there’s a team playing Premier League or Non-league, wearing blue and white halves, calling themselves Blackburn Rovers, somewhere in Blackburn I’ll be there cheering them on.

However, like I say, I’ve had enough of BRFCS, Wen, Glenn, Kamy and the rest of the mods, you do a great job and put a lot of effort into it and for that I applaud you!

Too much to ask that we all pull in the same direction? I guess so!

See you down Ewood!

More rubbish from nicko, I'd be suprised if 50% of that article was true

The LT are carrying quotes from Kean that he spoke with Sir Alex after the Paul Scholes testimonial about a couple of players he would like to take on loan. Personally, I don't have a problem with borrowing players if we don't have the money to buy them. I'm sure United will have players available, once they have selected their 25 man squad, who will do a job for us and it would appear that Kean is developing a relationship with Sir Alex that might enable him to do a deal for a couple of players. Clearly talk of the biggest transfer budget in the club's history was nothing more than that - talk. The reality is that free-transfers, loans and bargain basement signings are the order of the day. Nothing wrong with that if it can keep us in the Premier League.

It would appear that a touch of realism has finally arrived with Kean now saying that breaking into the top ten is the immediate aim as he plays down talk of Europe. I suspect that the manager has finally come to realise that there is no magical pot of gold going to be made available to him and he is going to have to get the best out of the limited resources at his disposal. The coming weeks will prove if Kean is up to the job or not and for the sake of the club I can only hope that he is.

The aim has got be be Europe in the long term, everyone below that particular segment of the 3 tier PL is in the relegation fight.

I don't think there was ever a doubt about loan signings, teams in our position have to look at it. The top clubs' ability to field two very strong PL teams makes it beneficial to them too or younger or fringe players will never progress.

It's noticeable the number of sportswriters in the national papers predicting Rovers not only to be relegated this season but actually to finish bottom of the league in 20th place. Last year I doubt if one writer had us to go down. Shows how much the club's stock has fallen over the past year and their view of the abilities of the manager.

Content may be but compare the presentation with the similar Guardian article.

Broadsheet V Gutter Press perhaps. Some might say Journalist V ###### stirrer.

Is it not the content that matters. He has not written things that are wrong. Hhaving to clear debts has been mentioned for a long time.

Wanting to loan players from man u is also in the LT.

That depends if you are discussing content or the journalist.

The content is one thing, how you portray that information is another thing.

Nicko does it with a dig and a sneer.

Read it with your eyes open.

I've read it thank you - three times - and I'm asking you to point out the "digs and sneers".

Just because the you don't like the message in a story doesn't mean it is wrong.

I'm awaiting your answer.

Chicken farming owners, under siege to sell Samba, unlikely dream of Wellbeck.

Compare it to the Guardian article. Journalism V Hacking.

If you don't understand the difference it says a lot about you.

I agree that the tone of the article is negative however the content is accurate. People discrediting Nicko for what he's saying are missing the point. He's right. He's sensationalised elements of the story but fundamentally the facts of the matter are clear.

My point is the negative slant he has.

As to accuracy, I am not sure we are under siege to sell Samba, was Wellbeck mentioned or is that pure speculation?

I would have thought Gibson and one other, centre half...........loan back
