I reckon Dave S has got it right so that is 11 out plus EHD and Grella who Rovers want out and Samba who wants out of his own volition.

So 14 either gone or so going they are not available for selection.

On the Kean comment of 3 players coming in, which of Ribeiro, Goodwillie, Petrovic and Anderson doesn't count?

Out of the 14 players, how many were part of Kean's team last season?

1. JJ

2. PJ

3. MBD

4. Benjani

5. RSC

6. Samba (if he leaves)

So from your 14 players we actually have SIX (if Samba leaves), we have then purchased two players so in essence are FOUR players down, I have said that we should be looking at FIVE players to sign but three or above would be acceptable. Quality not quantity.

Spot on. Sam had us stable and getting results. We'd have beat Wolves yesterday, and we'd be contending Europe with him at the helm. But the minority of selfish Rovers fans wanted sexy football and to lose by playing good. I'd rather win playing hoofball and celebrate by going out on the lash happy on a Saturday night!

I don't think many fans want us to play sexy football AND lose by playing good fella.

I admit, I went to Rovers with heavy feet under BS, and I was getting pi**ed off with us capitulating away from home, especially against sides we knew we could give a game.

I didn't want him sacked, and I thought the way he went was apallingly handled (From start to finish)

The big problem for me, was for the owners not having anyone PROVEN lined up to replace him.

As for if we'd have beaten Wolves under BS, does it really make matter? Its irrelevant now, he's gone and there is not point looking at whats gone and can't be affected.

We just have to hope that the owners read our tea leaves early enough to save us, or that Samba stays, and a minor miracle is performed on the treatment table and in the transfer market.

Sign a goalscorer, a defender and a midfielder/ or winger and maybe add 1 or 2 loan players and il be happy with our summer dealings - especially if Samba stays aswell.

After yesterday, Samba will go. If you were him, would you stay???????

5 year contract signed only a few months ago - tough sh!t pal your staying!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could do that.

Unfortunately, if a player wants to leave then you are goosed.

Needs to happen tomorrow so, hopefully, the money can be invested wisely.

Rumour is that Samba wasn't even at the match - can anyone throw any light on this ?

Just out of interest - who are the 11? Gunning, Brown, RSC, Andrews, JJ, P Jones, Benjani, Mame, Kalinic - Who else?

Out of those 9 - Gunning (Never played), Brown (We have Jake Kean), RSC (did nothing). Andrews & Mame also offered very little all last season. Benjani had 1 good game (v Liverpool).

Doran, Kean (loan) Fielding thats two and our England under 20 captain couldnt make the squad!! very strange, plus Diuff EHD isnt being played!

Imy,

I am seriously questioning your knowledge of football, changing six players is a massive overall and two of those players have had no time to gel with the squad (Petrovic & Goodwillie)

Its hard for a top coach to deal with Four players leaving, six is almost an impossible task!

But you know as well as I do, that it doesnt work like that. If a club offers enough Rovers will sell. Kean has more or less said that. Contracts mean nowt these days.

All is loaded in the players hand.

odenwingie (wba) whould be a good shout

Wigan bid 1.5 million for him - which sounds rather cheap. Do you think he has a clause in his contract or something.

I feel this week will be a very bid week in terms of transfers. If none come in we are fuked

I hope what I am hearing is not true can someone please confirm if they have heard this a few weeks ago I have heard Kean wanted to buy Bougherra off Rangers ctrl defender reasonably cheap option and would do a decent enough job but the owners pulled the plug on the deal and Balaji withdrew the money for a marquee signing Kamy do you have any knowledge of this if this is true I feel we are finished & would not blame Kean if he walked now & quite frankly no-one would work under these restrictions Kamy can you confirm this?.

Out of the five players The two Jones' were our first 11 players- the other squad players. This year was always going to be a big upheaval due to the number of loanees plus players out of contract. Replacing Samba will be the biggest issue if he leaves.

So in essence thus far we have lost TWO first 11 players, if you look at a number of squads in the PL this summer they are having a turnaround of at least 6/7 players leaving- recession hitting?

You mentioned the six in your earlier thread, RSC played most games, Benjani was a regular towards the end of the season and you had a bench with Kalinic and MB Diouff as strikers to freshen things up!!

Midfield we have a problem with but again, how many managers with a weak defence will play without a 'sitter' in front of the back four, you need a sitter with the best defence and Kean hasnt learned anything from last season as this offensive midfield exposes the back four, indeed, Salgado knows he cant play in that system, we need a conventional 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 with what we have.

Roque started 7 out of 16 games with a further 2 subs, just over 50%.

Kalinic last started a game in February and final app in early April. Benjani under Kean a sub again.

The above were squad players Kelbo who are vital to have in a squad but not quite the same thing as losing one of your key players, we lost two of those in JJ and PJ.

Who would you have played as a 'sitter' on Saturday? There was no one left to play that role! Petrovic and Nzonzi can and will play that role in future.

I would have played N'Zonzi as sitter and played Pearson at Centre back, Pearson in my opinion will be better than Hanley and they formed a great partnership with the cup winning reserve team, as we know, Partnerships at the centre of defence are a big plus. I know it would have been a debut for the lad but Woves arent blessed with the best strikers and the way the lad played against Man U and Chelsea reserves (who had lots of experience in their sides) shows he was worth a shout!

Benjani by the way did start under Kean!!

More importantly, which illustrates what a clown we have as a manager, we let Gavin Gunning go to Dundee when Nelsen was injured and knew he wouldnt be ready for the season, Samba probably on his way and Jones gone, now you dont have to be a rocket scientist to work that one out. To conclude, we have Myles Anderson, supposedly a centre back of the Chris Smalling mould after his 5 minute Cameo for Aberdeen (his only professional appearance) on the bench and didnt start!! Now Imy, there is a reason for that and it stinks,

Anderson is nowhere near good enough and thats why he didnt play the lad, so why not put young Pearson on the bench or in the team!!!

Regardless of our defense issues, looking at the midfield and strike force, the bench yesterday looked so low on quality.

Also think we are talking too much about these young stars of the future when a lot of them have much to learn before they can make an impact in the Premier League.
