booth Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Some really negative, pretentious and antagonising posters in this thread specifically. I will be avoiding it in future Steve is that you? Stay positive

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 By Christ we better sign someone, what a mess this is turning into.
pick32 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Chris samba tweeted about 4hours ago to follow charles Nzogbia then uploaded this photo of them waiting in the aiport my thinking is either linganzi or coincidence. Could it be Nzogbia?
imy9 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Bucky Rover? Braddock? Imy? Cruz? Topman? I know I haven't. Out of patience as well. Confidence is not the right word 'praying' would be more appropriate. The only positive news that I am holding onto is that we be announcing a decent sponsor soon... but until its announced who knows?

AmazinTim Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I haven't much faith in the owners, not out of anger or malice, but I fear their incompetence. I fear that they just don't know how to get it done, and it would have behooved them to have brought in a manager that had the transfer window experience so things like visas, passports, and permits wouldn't be shocks to them. I'm not saying Keen can't do the job, I just think had we brought someone in who's been here before then we'd have hit less road blocks. That said, we were playing a good caliber of football at the end of the season, much better than our results were indicative of. If it weren't for some unlucky penalties and horrid officiating we would have avoided "Survival Sunday" altogether. I mean, FFS, we would have beat United if Nani wasn't a piece of shiat human being. Slag Kean all day, but he's brought a good style of football to the club, a drastic change over the old guard but at the end of the season we were playing like a different club than we were at the begining - in a good way. I look at the personnel we have and I think there's quality everywhere but up top. Hanley's got to grow up fast and N'Zonzi will need to buckle down and reproduce the form of two seasons ago, but the core of the team is quite decent. We don't need as much as people are demanding this transfer window. If Rochina and Formica come good then I think we're in for a decent season as-is if we can avoid injuries. Still, let's hope FFS they sign some players who can walk into the first 11.

Could it be Nzogbia? Samba's been bleating on about Nzogbia for a while...clearly someone he'd like to be at Rovers.

Do you realise that with no new signings Andrews will probably be a starter ON MERIT. Unbelievable!
pick32 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 If it was Linganzi he would be in the rovers training gear. Im thinking it is Nzogbia and is just purely coincidence unless he is talking to villa. Interesting that DW was just on sky sports saying there is 3 premiership teams in for him and he hasn't gone to Austria with the rest of the squad.

Do you realise that with no new signings Andrews will probably be a starter ON MERIT. Unbelievable! I don't think he claimed we weren't weaker. But I agree we need at least two quality loans/purchases to get us back to last seasons level - which just saw us avoid being relegated. However - the hope has to be that Hoilett continues to improve, as does Nzonzi etc. For me the two Jones are a huge loss - not easy to replace - but if they spent the money they got from Jones on a half decent midfield player, centre-half and striker - we would be overall better off overall (especially if Rochina reproduces his reserve form in the first team + Formica may come good as well). The team doesn't need a radical overhaul - but we do need to spend money in key areas - lets hope they pull their fingers (as well as cheque book) out

On a positive note from what I have seen, there is no reason why he shouldn't be pushing for a first team place. Nzogbia would be the answer in midfield I must admit but I just can not see him coming to Rovers even if we could cash up some money.
Neal Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I have heard very contrasting reports regarding Linganzi. That he never looks comfortable on the ball, poor touch etc.. Would like to be proven wrong but I'm sure there's a reason why he's only made one league appearance.
Tooogs Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I see the French boys stick together! Linganzi, N'Zonzi, Givet and Samba.

Backroom Tom Posted July 22, 2011 Backroom Posted July 22, 2011 I hope I'm in the right place to ask this... have we signed or do we look like signing anyone? Sorry to interrupt. I've not seen him play bad yet, I hope he gets a chance this season if we don't make midfield signings.
Waggy76 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Someone about 3 weeks ago ,suggested on this messageboard there was no one at Ewood Park remaining who was capable of putting together a players football contract .. We haven't signed anyone yet , so this could be true ....What is more we don't appear to be near a signing .Not even Benjani on a free !!!!
Eddie Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 As someone who has spent a significant amount of time drafting contracts for a major record label I can tell you that there is nothing challenging about writing a contract.
beastlove Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I think that I am starting to turn to the darkside. I said that I would be concerned if we had not signed anyone by the 31st. Well that isn't far off and it doesn't sound like we are signing anyone. Nicko, the Pavone thing is just strange. Do you know the reason why we haven't signed him?

Well that isn't far off and it doesn't sound like we are signing anyone. Nicko, the Pavone thing is just strange. Do you know the reason why we haven't signed him? There was some speculation that Venkys thought they could do better, like signing Raul. Another possible reason was that Kean fell out with the owners and Kentaro, with Kentaro advising Venkys not to sign Pavone, and they listened. Not sure what's true.
den Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Don't know how you got a -1 for that Al. OK, who are the nine smartarses?

Unless you read that we have appointed some management at the club above SK then don't expect any signings this window. It just ain't going to happen. Would you take a job if your new employer was non-existant? No, no-one would. We are in limbo!
Tardyrover Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 As someone who has spent a significant amount of time drafting contracts for a major record label I can tell you that there is nothing challenging about writing a contract. some of the contracts can be 30+ A4 sized sheets thick and need a team of legal experts to go over them ! I'd say they're challenging to say the least!

And as someone who has overseen football contracts, most which are governed by the FA/League in which they play, a bloody minefield!!
JAL Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Come the Hong Kong tournament Andy Cryer should begin to start throwing some hard hitting question Venky's and the Rao's way in regards to signings and money being spent on new players. The very least the Blackburn public are expecting this summer transfer window, now, is, that the Phil Jones money £16.5m of it will be spent on transfers.
