Just seen on Sky that Rodallega is having a contract row with Wigan and refusing to sign a new one, hence why he was on the bench at weekend. He's out of contract next summer.

Slap a £5m bid in and see what happens.

Get him in!!!!!!!!!!

* Proven premiership quality

* Able to play the lone role.

Perfect for us.

Problem with that maybe the lack of will to spend 5m by the owners.

Totally off topic but does anyone know why there isn't any midweek games at the start of season in the prem?

There's usually always 3 games in 7 days at the start?

Champions league qualifiers maybe....also do keep it free in case of league cup first round replays?

He's a bit rubbish at the lone striker role though. He only started scoring for Wigan when they put him on the left wing and had someone else there.

Bloody hell, there hasn't been league cup replays for years!

Back on topic, surely there isnt a chance of Damien Duff coming back?

In the know rover here, just heard from a reliable who works closely with balaji we are very close to signing damien duff from fulham on 3 year deal for 2.75 million. This the first time ive posted from my source and she was right with goodwillie and petrovic so i trust him. Dont shoot the messenger! Good signing cant wait to see in a rovers shirt again. :D :D :D

Of course I hope you're right- any incoming player would be a welcome addition to our threadbare squad, not least one as good as Duff. My only reticence lies in the fact you seem unsure of the gender of your source...

Your only reticence? ;)

My only reticence regarding that potential transfer, I have plenty more regarding pretty much each and every of the 80+ players we have been linked with by people in the know this summer. How much of that is due to Venky's woeful PR and the changing of the guard behind the scenes I don't know. It'd just be nice if we signed some, nay ANY more players this window.

Every source that has been close to Balaji has been proven wrong so far this summer!

I think it shows what a mess we are in is that we are desperate for players yet Rovers are not even worth writing a rumour about in this morning's press.

Well this is extremely interesting, from what I've heard (again just my source) we have enquired about a player called vaclav kadlec, never heard of him myself but hope hes a gooden for the future and the present. Fits with ;) the venkys model.

Very good player!

Quick and skillfull..

Played alot out wide last season.

Will need to bulk up alot if he's to make it prem.

Recurring theme with our linking to big name players.

Publicity stunts all over.

Active bids my arse

To be fair to Venky's they have never said that they want Raul, in fact they have said the opposite that they are not interested in him, so can't really have a go at them RE Raul.

Kamy;

Do you know if Barry Mcintosh is on collision course with Rovers because of the Pavone saga? If I remember correctly he was the one who got us Mauro Formica. After listening to the podcast it is important that we get some agents we can coooperate with to close the deals.

Sam, you need to get off the fence mate LOL

I agree with you though, starting to sound like the same CD on repeat now isn't it.

Rodallega, yes please, but if bigger clubs are turning his head, we'd have no chance, and with the owners bending their perception on transfer funds, I think we can laugh at this one too.

Please Venky's, prove me wrong.

I'd wager we haven't got any active bids, never mind being close to signing anyone.

I agree with you. I don't think there's anyone in the pipeline - all bull****. I think the penny has dropped for Kean over the weekend - having a go at the owners saying they may have to pay over the odds for players - I think he's realised that there's no bids going in for anyone. We are well in the brown stuff.

I'd also be very surprised if we sign another player before the deadline - and then it might only be an emergency loanee if Samba finally leaves.

It is obvious that Kean has been spun a yarn by the owners - and the change in his demeanour recently comes from the realisation of the predicament he and the club are in. For a manager with principles this of course would be a resignation issue but I cannot see Kean walking away unless results are the first 5 - 10 games are so dire he has no other option but to leave.

The question then would be hiring a new manager. And which decent manager worth his salt would want to work for this deceitful bunch ?

Its beginning to become apparent the reason Allardyce had to go was not due to his style of play but the fact that he would not have stood for Venkys transfer policy!!

I know this is stating the obvious but it is making me change my opinion of Venkys from inexperienced stooges to calculated opportunists!!!

Renaming stands & charity sponsorships are a lovely gesture but the only way they can win the supporters hearts is to prove they mean business on the pitch!!

I don't think any manager would stand for the shambles that is our club at the moment. In my opinion Steve Kean is doing a very good job, most if not all managers would have walked by now - so we would have ended up with an assistant in charge in a caretaker role; at least Kean now has managerial experience and knows the club and players inside out.

I have just returned from two weeks in the sun and i read countless papers all indicating we would finish bottom of the league. I hope we prove everybody wrong as we have some very promising players.

Robinson

RB Samba Givet LB

Hoilett Petrovic Nzonzi Olsson

Formica Goodwillie

This is the most important season for some years for our club!!!!!

I cannot believe we have not added to our squad.

Begining to? I thought it was obvious at the time and said so and of course most of here thought I was just being conspiratorial but why else do you think he was sacked a couple of weeks before the window opened?

tomorrow is Wednesday, then if we sign a player then its probably getting a work permit, then getting him registered before 12:30 on Friday. then there is no guarantee he will be match fit, which means he won't play Saturday. Vital we go for Onouha or even make a cash bid for Bassong. Or get Samba and Givet fit asap
