chris Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 There was some speculation that Venkys thought they could do better, like signing Raul. Another possible reason was that Kean fell out with the owners and Kentaro, with Kentaro advising Venkys not to sign Pavone, and they listened. Not sure what's true. I had a feeling Venkys might be concerned that Kean is not able to attract the players they were hoping for. I have always thought they had money. Kean may have tried a few players and been told they were not interested, and when he finally can only get an unknown freebie, Venkys are asking why is this the best you can do. If so its good they asked questyions, its something Jack Walker should have done better with Harford who signed rubbish mainly, Hoagson who was a nightmare and Kidd NIGHTMARE.

BuckyRover Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 And as someone who has overseen football contracts, most which are governed by the FA/League in which they play, a bloody minefield!! Have you ever heard of mail merge?
G Somerset Rover Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I hope we get spanked by Villa in this Asia trophy, which a) pushes Kean closer to the trap door and may, just may, force Venky's into getting out their chequebook. Sh*t or get off the pot Venkys.
Eddie Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 some of the contracts can be 30+ A4 sized sheets thick and need a team of legal experts to go over them ! I'd say they're challenging to say the least! Long? Yes. Tedious to read through? Yes. Difficult to draft? No.
Kelbo Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Have you ever heard of mail merge? Of course, but still a minefield as to what you can and cannot put into a contract, you can write anything into a contract, yet, if not permissable in Enlish law, its void!i
DanLad Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Long? Yes. Tedious to read through? Yes. Difficult to draft? No. Go on then. Draft up a professional footballers contract and put it on this forum.
Majiball Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 They don't even need to be in the same part of the world. Video conferencing is more than adequate. I Gods don't do video conference calling.
American Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Lots of big businesses don't do video conferencing for meetings of such importance.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 The ITK don't appear to be ITK today. All is quiet...too quiet.
steo Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Simply because nothing is happening but suppose we can hope it's the calm before the storm
Hi Mack Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 The ITK don't appear to be ITK today. All is quiet...too quiet. There is nothing to know.......

Al Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 OK, who are the nine smartarses? I'ts just getting stupid now Den. Us long term supporters are being swamped by idiots. Time for some of them to be banned.
Fife Rover Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I ain't going on no plane! http://www.mirrorfoo...icle774478.html What a wonderful display of "How Not To Manage Staff" Venkys should write a book on the subject.
Roversboy1972 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 rovers are just the laughing stock of football at the morment they wont sign anyone and mr kean just a yes man venky,s dont want to spend any cash the club ######
beerwins Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Come the Hong Kong tournament Andy Cryer should begin to start throwing some hard hitting question Venky's and the Rao's way in regards to signings and money being spent on new players. The very least the Blackburn public are expecting this summer transfer window, now, is, that the Phil Jones money £16.5m of it will be spent on transfers. It will be all too little to late, I am sick of pople pussy footing round them and bowing down to them, I know the Indian culture, probably not as good as a lot on here but I know enough to understand they will have had far too many people congratulating them on every bad decision, they are probably horrified about the things people write about them on here and we dont refer to them as sir. As someone mentioned earlier it is absolutely pathetic that in this day and age our manager has to fly out there to speak with them when the likes of conference calls and such like are available (NOTW have no interest in Indian football team owners). I have no faith in the fact that if Kean would be sacked things would improve, he would be replaced by another yes man with no backbone and that would not help us either, I was hoping that they had saw the light and were learning about the english culture and the game of football but at it stands I see no improvement. Arrogance and ignorance seems to lead the way, respect has to be earned in this country before it is given and I can find very little to respect them for, they are ripping our club to shreds and not even the local press are asking them why. I respect Andy Cryer for the work he is doing and has been pretty much spot on but its now time to earn his corn, as Jal said regardless of what the banks and the FA have done were we not promised the PJ money would be spent on transfers, if they dont have the money or financial know how to free up more funds they should'nt have bought us in the first place.

Jesus wept.
Oklahoma Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 What a wonderful display of "How Not To Manage Staff" Venkys should write a book on the subject. They should co-write it then. Just ask Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Benfica and many other clubs that have been "managed" like that in this last few months. Footballers are getting more and more disrespectful towards their bosses, fans and supporters. Why should ROvers be any diferent?
roverandout Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 i know its a little late but i have a few descriptive words for artist if he can cast aspersions at people. Deluded, in denial, unrealistic. If anyone thinks this is going to be a good season then theyre on another planet. Never have i looked forward to a season less. Its going to be another long hard relegation scrap which we could well succumb to.
Taggart Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Cryer / Nicko conflict again - apparently Niko did travel - just shows that we should really take things with a pinch of salt http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburn_rovers/news/9156645.Out_of_favour_Kalinic_travels_with_Blackburn_Rovers_to_Asia/
Makey11 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 What a wonderful display of "How Not To Manage Staff" Venkys should write a book on the subject. Steve kean needs to learn how to manage his staff better as none of them know what's going on!!!

Surely the Mirror can't be wrong again In fairness I don't think any journalist could report accurately on what is going on at Ewood Park, although I must admit that I have been impressed with Andy Cryer's work this summer. The transfer strategy is a complete mess and the manager/puppet appears to be the last person who is in control of teambuilding.
neophox Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Stoke lost to league one side and Wolves to a league two side.... I think we are in better shape than alot of teams...nice to see young players coming through.

Why has there been no article in the LET about the money problems, IF there are no problems why has there been not article explaining there are no issues instead we get the complete tosh Kean talks saying we have money.
