Over to Venky's.

It is damned difficult to get top players to come to Rovers at the best of times.

Why oh why have you gone and made a difficult situation all but impossible by:

- removing the people at the club who are respected universally throughout football

- blundering around after marquee signings

- appointing a clown instead of a Manager.

The Raul interest shows the owners might be prepared to spend the money (and wages) when it suits them.

They do not appear to understand however that their money would be better spent on a damned good centre half and midfield player.

Players like Raul are the icing on the cake - we need solid foundations first.

If this doesn't happen, can't really blame Venky's. They never leaked the story, in fact they have tried to keep it quiet.

Oh well we can add it to the list of failed Big Name Signings, why people thought he would come is beyond me.

Today, Tuesday (16.8) FC noted Schalke 04 from an official request of Blackburn Rovers, in which the Premier League club announced a commitment of Raul to be interested in. "Both our coach Ralf Rangnick and my board colleagues Peter Peters and I have pointed out always, that we would like to make it not", made it clear manager Horst Heldt.

However, the begun informed the players of interest from England. Heldt: "Raul has told us that he would like to stay at Schalke 04 and asked us to cancel the Blackburn Rovers." We have already done so. "We are pleased, that Raul wants to contribute all in the future, that we are successful athletic."

I agree with you. The positive is that they tried and seem willing to spend now. I'm not sure it means that a signing like Raul is priority, would like to think they are working on several transfers in paralell.

Onohua and Jermaine Jones would be really helpful, and we need another target man/hold up striker.

They've finally done something right. Alas, it's come too late for anyone to consider it properly. Schalke won't want to get rid because they've had no time to find a replacement.

At least this shows they're ambition to get something done.

Wages and age mean I ain't that bothered.After this venture, I don't wanna hear high wages as an excuse for not bringing in players the next 2 weeks.

rovers: we want you. Raul: whos manager? Rovers: steve kean, Raul: ahahahahahahahaha.....oh wait your serious?? Ahahahah

I doubt he'd laugh. If anything, the prospect of being back with Salgado and playing in the one league out of the top three that he HASN'T, would be a very attractive proposition... especially with £60k a week.

Players saying no before we even really get to offer them anything looks bad on us. We have to sign someone and quick to lift everyone at the club. It has to be a very good experienced signing to show other players we arent a joke club. But we already knew that

Something is wrong here, I would have thought, well anyone with sense, would have got Salgado to test the water first, if they didnt, its poor again or, something changed since Salgado spoke to Raul!

It must be one of the two for its an unwritten law in football, before you go for a player, you find out if that particular player has an interest in joining, then its down to terms and Transfer fees.

But it didnt get that far, WHY???

Puzzling, as my information was Raul wanted to come, so whats changed?????
