The player I was talking about is Simon Vukcevic. I thought that it would make everyone happy because he is far superior to other players we have in that position, have watched him for a number of years and he will do really well for us, apologies if this signing doesn't excite you but certainly excites me because he will turn out to be a really good signing for us.

We are also in for a striker, I have a name but am not going to speculate about who it is until I have it confirmed, the striker is also due to have a medical within next 24 hours or so.

On a very busy day at Ewood, the search for defensive reinforcements is ongoing, Bocanegra was looked at but he decided to go to Rangers. Wilson is expected to join, Boyatta is a possibility, Kean is expecting at least one defender to arrive before Villa game.

It's all systems go at Ewood, the above will not be the end of the signings, more players are expected to arrive. Still no further bids for Samba.

Great news kamy. Do you for see anything stopping us from getting Simons signature now?

My faith will be restored when they actually step out on the field wearing the blue n white halves.

I've well and truly given up listening to speculation, however informed it may be.

I get my transfer news from the BBC now. It's the only way to stay sane!

Where will Vucinic play? Left wing, right wing? Will be interesting to see.

Lots of names but won't be happy til they sign.

Have always said wait til 1st Sept and looking as if the new structure at Ewood is beginning to work.

Don't worry about it Kamy as one or two have mentioned barely anyone bar Messi would receive unqualified approval such is the prevailing mood on here at the moment. Sign a good midfielder? Bah! Humbug! We need a defender! No doubt if we sign a half decent defender the cry will be Bah! Humbug! We need an out and out striker!

For what it's worth if Samba stays I don't think the need for a centre back is that critical as Nelsen will presumably soon be available for selection as will Givet (assuming he isn't going to cry off sick every week at the 11th hour) with Hanley as 4th choice.

If the three or four players mentioned on this thread do arrive then theoretically the squad should be considerably stronger than last season as we've only lost one player (Phil Jones) off the permanent staff who contributed anything really worthwhile and Steve Kean will have no excuses whatsoever not to deliver a reasonable finish if he has anything about him at all.

Who is Wilson?

Who is Wilson?

Liverpool defender, Scottish International. While not a big name, he did look very good in his last game for Scotland. Simon V is a terrific player, will probably play on either wing. I hope we get Boyata, very good player. If we keep Samba, then happy days, however, I have a feeling Samba might still leave

Robinson

Boyata/Onouha Samba Wilson Givet

Vucevic Petrovic Nzonzi Olsson

Hoilett

Cisse/Raul /Ibisevic

I suppose you could move Olsson to left Back, and then move Vucevic to left wing, and Junior to the right.

Robbo

Onouha/Boyata Samba Wilson Olsson

Hoilett Nzonzi Petrovic Vucevic

Formica
