Ripleys love child Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I'm just prayin our youth comes good , probably our only hope at the moment
bigbrandjohn Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 So we are about to sell our best striker Kalinic which is a tragic waste of a talent. We are still negotiating with a squad striker, nobody wants to join us and we don't want to pay for them anyway. Our manager is on regular travel pass to nowhere and there is nobody back at the ranch to explain to anyone what the hell is going on apart from our own Man from Uncle journos. By any stretch of the imagination this is a recipe for disaster. Let's have some clear direction from the owners, clear leadership from the manager and a clear out of the special advisers. Time starts now and the clock is ticking.
hesfromburn Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 kalinic are best striker?? he is awful. miseryman moaned about formica costing 3million n not bein ready. kalinic cost double and been the same use given more chances. worst transfer ever. thanks a lot slug. and all you anti venyks believe every rumour what date did we buy kalinic.?
Ricky Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I just wish we'd get a bid in for pentacote. I've been on about him since we were linked to him last summer before he got injured. Looks a top prospect and would not cost the earth.
Majiball Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Anyone have any more information on Aguirre? I have met his dad.
Billy Castell Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Did he have a moustache and a sombrero? I doubt we'll sign Aguirre, or anyone apart from Benjiani for that matter. We probably have no money to spend, sell a few more players and then look as bad as Coventry will this coming season.
niggit Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I saw that interview. Same old stuff though. Money been spent wisely, why not just say where looking to spend as little as possible. And want freebies.
chaddyrovers Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 wasn't it Venkatesh Rao doing the talking? it was when I saw it about 8.30 this morning
neophox Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Venky's offer manager support and money to spend. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_7059181,00.html
BRFC1995 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I'm just prayin our youth comes good , probably our only hope at the moment they'll be sold quick smart though, season starts august so if some youth players show themselves as stars in the first 3 or 4 games they'll be gone by transfer window shutting in september. always nice as a fan to keep seeing the bookies odds for relegation get smaller week by week, one great gk, one great cd, one great winger and ollsen when he settles on a position won't be able to carry the rest for 38 games.
m1st Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I'm not quite that bad but I'm not looking forward to the coming season. You're not the only one. I can't ever remember feeling so negative about the future of Rovers. As one who had a season ticket in the mid- and late-1970s, I can remember feeling more negative than this, specially during Jim Iley's time in charge; but I have to say it's marginal. This season will have to be a spectacular one [and I'm not holding my breath] for me to renew again.
booth Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I'm regretting renewing my season ticket. I'm not regretting it as years ago I couldn't get one due to working weekends and evenings so picked the matches I could go to. I really missed the regular visits to Ewood so rain, snow or relegation I will still get a season ticket. I know what it's like to not have one and miss match days. However, I must admit the squad is a shambles, the club is a shambles and I'm not looking forward to see the team play. I think we're going to get murdered with the current squad. The only positive thing I can take from all of this is we've managed to keep Samba. I do have a bad feeling he's going to disappear on deadline day though. Wenger almost said as much in an interview weeks ago.
ptholt Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 To be fair I don't really think niko has had that much of a chance, he doesn't have the strength for 4-5-1 hold up the ball up tactics, like any striker he needs service, doesn't matter who you have up front if you can't give them the ball in the right places to hurt the opposition
Ripleys love child Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Niko played with RSC up front I think against Newcastle and was shocking
ptholt Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Tho againt man city scored from nothing, if we want to tall about worst striker transfers Ashley ward and grabbi are so far at the front of that queue hehe
donnermeat Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Niko played with RSC up front I think against Newcastle and was shocking Personally I think their styles are too similar to play together effectively. They were about 50 yards away from each other at all times, it just didn't work.
John Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Do we have a senior doctor at the club should a potential transfer need a medical?
neophox Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 We have an academy doctor I know for sure, and he can probably do the same job when needed, but I think we can consult an doctor if needed.
Ripleys love child Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 And didn't niko play up on his own against WBA ? He was the best player in the pitch bar none
John Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 We have an academy doctor I know for sure, and he can probably do the same job when needed, but I think we can consult an doctor if needed. Cool.
chris Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 And didn't niko play up on his own against WBA ? He was the best player in the pitch bar none Every Rovers play was the best player on the pitch, West Brom were beyond uselss, Diouf looked like Figo
den Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Tho againt man city scored from nothing, When their keeper ran past the ball and left an open goal?
Backroom Tom Posted July 24, 2011 Backroom Posted July 24, 2011 Now I've heard everything, he scored from nothing? As Den said it was an empty net. People seem to think it's some sort of conspiracy holding Niko back but he's been here for 2 years now and hasnt been in favour with either manager for most of it, there's a reason for that. If he stays I hope he can turn it around but I doubt that he just isn't right for the league he'd do well in Italy though.
