Nope, it was marked down because it wasn't what some folk wanted to hear.

What position?

Well as someone who marked it down I can tell you it was because it was such a strongly negative view which cant be formulated at this point. If I had read a comment that claimed the signings were all going to be fantastic and we aregoing to challenge for Europe now I would have done the same.

Nothing to do with what I do or dont want to hear, I just appreciate a reasoned argument. If you care to look back at some of philpl posts you'll see I'm one of the few who has given him a plus depite him being the bearer of bad news.

It seems to me you have made you judgement, which in a way I understand as the situation is dire at the club, and anyone who who has a opposing view of any kind is automatically a Rovers Fan. Which is sad as its this kind of attitude that stiffles any decent debate and ends with a pack mentality on here.

Yes it is.

All about interpretation, £6 million for someone in the last year of their contract as Ibi is, would constitute a lot of money.

Out of interest what sum would constitute a reasonable amount of money for a striker?

My point is that it is pointless comparing him (or the fee) to Ronaldo.

Rovers can't sign the top level of players - we have to players who've lost their way a bit who may be available for a decent fee. Santa Cruz, Bellamy, McCarthy - even Tugay to an extent.

If this lad hadn't fallen out with managers in the past etc - there is no way he'd come to Rovers.

awwwww you didn't understand what I posted.

I simply questioned why he was valued at 2 million from someone who had seen him play regularly.

the example of Ronaldo was to demonstrate that this club have sold players for higher fee, so it has to be asked why he is so cheap in the peak of his career.

...and you thought I wanted Blackburn to buy Ronaldo awwww.

If you having a go at me for trying to estiblish where his valuation has come from then that up you.

It was a strongly negative view? What, saying that he isn't impressed with the players linked? Give over man.

Plus, you still haven't said what my judgement is. What is it?

Why do people keep talking like this? "Behind the curve" - what the f**k is that? Management bullshit, speak English man!

Oh yeah, on topic.....Vukcevic FTW.

Ich kann auf Deutsch nur fuer dich, wieleicht.

"Speak English" from someone who uses a German tagline!! What the f**k are you hiding behind, then?

What I mean by 'behind the curve' and the reason for posting the comment is that perhaps some fans aren't ready to support a club that thinks big and aspires to develop a less narrow minded, equally aspirational supporter-base. A point you answered pretty succinctly.

Believe me, I have long-term links with Hamburger SV. If Rovers really do aspire to being a big team in Europe, they will need to take their fans with them. And the German model of discouraging players from parading their cars at the stadia, regulated fan ownership of clubs, involvement by fans at all levels etc. etc. prevents narrow-minded comments on websites becoming representative of supporters opinions.

You can reply in German if you prefer. I'll understand.

No offense Den but your knowledge of European football is pretty limited if you have never heard of Simon Vukcevic.

Or Ibisevic, for that matter.

Good striker, but would prefer to get a striker in who can hit the ground running. Ibisevic is reportedly out til October.

Yup, pre-judging players he hasn't seen play.

Then again, he watched Phil Jones, Hoilett & Olsson play and thought they were crap.

EDIT: Thanks for your seal of approval. ;)

I explained your judgement in my last paragraph of my previous post.

If you dont consider Jal saying "Totally underwhelmed by all of these summer signings." about players you yourself say he's unlikely to have seen play as negative, then I'm not sure what yo consider to be negative .

Why is it not okay for people to have a problem with Jals post, you say they wont have seen them play so they cant pass judgement, but it is okay for Jal to pass judegemnt in the first place?

Anyway I guess this is off topic now and cluttering up a thread that finally has some action in it so we can continue this by pm or just agree to disagree.

Defenders - loan player is under 21, the other defender is over 30. Won't cost big money.

Midfielder is under 21.

so who is the over 30's defender then ????

@BomBom77 @MikeyDelap @St_Jimmy_77 Not yet, Bom. But Heskey is undergoing his medical at Brockhall as I type.

I like Heskey but I've been telling my brother today who is a liverpool fan that rovers will be getting a striker who will score goals, if Heskey comes i will get slated for years!
