Cryer says "Kean admits players have medicals today and tomorrow - terms agreed. Would not say who but one is certainly Vuckenic."

Positive news that Neil, with the way some transfers have seemingly dragged on this summer, it’s a welcome change to have things sewn up so quickly.

Rather surprised myself BUT... The proof is in the pudding mate. I really hope one is Onuoha.

Look what happened with Grella

Grella was NOT the sort of player we should have been looking at, never mind players in a team like Torino. Plenty of talent in Serie A we could have looked at. Instead we took this joker.

Still surprised we've not looked at Andrea Poli. Potential in that guy is immense. And it'd probably help La Nazionale getting some Italians out into other leagues.

Double edged sword for me, if we're in for Onuoha, Samba could be leaving.

That's a fair point. But rather than worry myself with such a thought i'll just be happy with it if it comes off. I genuinely believe Samba will be here at the end of the transfer window, Wenger won't want to spend what we're asking for on a 27 year old defender. Vermahlen and Koscielny performed well at Newcastle and even had Djorou spare on the bench so... Here's hoping.

I agree with using MGP at left back. He could be useful in freekicks, throwings and set pieces and use Olsson at wing with his pace. MGP is quite good in defending too.

This exact discussion came up about two months ago. I shot it down then and I'll shoot it down now. Absolutely foolish to put such a wimp at LB. Givet is by far our best LB, and with Olsson as a back-up, we're fine. Olsson is a lot more adept at the duties than Morten. All MGP's in this team for is set-pieces. And even then, it seemed the players/management got sick of his constant shooting from in-swinging corners on Saturday that they told Dunn to go and take them... (who, in my opinion, did a much better job.)

MGP's his own worst enemy. The signing of a guy like Vukcevic should be a wakeup call to him.

I expect Samba to leave. Its all gone quiet, too quiet lately. His twitter-rampage all of a sudden stopped, the mystery injury and abcent from the award. He clearly wants a move and Arsenal now have ALOT of money on their hands. They will now probably pay what we want, which is 12m pounds+.

Samba is what they need. If I was Samba I would be on my way down to London!

So I guess Onuha would be his replacement, gotta have a replacement before you sell, right? Then we could buy another CB, maybe that american? Then we would be okay I guess. Samba would be greatly missed, no doubt about it, but sooner or later he has to move on, he is getting too ambitious!

We didn't manage to get Petrovic registered in time despite him signing on the Tuesday!

That was different due to the work permit hearing.

The other lads have plenty of international

Caps and have played for European clubs.

At least one is expected to be in the squad for Saturday. FACT.

Ricky, im going to bite very hard on my teeth when I say this, but surely Kean and the rest would have realised that they need to get work permits etc sorted, in order not to repeat the Petrovic scenario? although, did Petrovic not play for his country that week, I think the Wednesday, and only flew in the next day?

At the moment I'm more worried about Spurs.

They’re broke currently, but once the Modric deal with Chelsea is agreed that will kick start the transfer market into action and could see them going for Samba.

Time will tell.

good positive news.

I'm pleased that rovers are NOT releasing who they are. will stop other clubs coming in for them!

Like other clubs wouldn't know something that's apparently common knowledge at BRFCS, Twitter, Facebook, Vital, twatter and so on?

Makey, the work permit hearing was on the Tuesday. At that stage he had a work permit yet we still didnt manage to get him registered in time. Having him available on Saturday could have made a difference as we didn't have one midfielder who could tackle!!

I disagree. I think he's been told to come off twitter because of all the Arsenal and Tottenham fans asking him the same old question, making him unsettled. I'm with Neal. He'll be here come the end of the window, but we'll struggle to keep him in January when Arsenal are mid-table and desperate.

Hopefully, we'll be above them, and Samba will look down his nose at them. ;)
