Billy Castell Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 OK, so Vuckenivic of Sporting and Zorba John of FC Dallas (no idea if he's any good) are having medicals, discussing contracts etc. So who are the other names Kamy was eluding too? Sorry but I don't fancy trawling through 20 pages. And are we actually in for a striker?

Veevs Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 If he has greek nationality (dual with the US) then he won't be needing a work permit. Yep he has both apparently, took some searching but according to a few articles he has both greek and american passports.
roversfanben Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 cheers kamy.. thats what i heard before (posted in villa thread) good that youve backed it up. also.. ive just had a "cant tell you" txt from a source. rovers trying to keep a deal quiet. you heard anything. Guy Demel? Is he one of the 2 defenders you mentioned?

Neal Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I think it may depend on who Rovers sign and Samba staying. Also Spurs interest. If they sell Modric to chelsea, they'll have money to spend. But if Rovers have filled in the gaps they want filling, such as 2 defenders, midfielder and striker and they are still interested in doing a cash and players exchange deal, then it could be interesting. But you never know Rovers may have got the players in that they want, which would lesson any pressure to sell. The price for Samba would just go up and up. Of course! The price for the big man should be bigger than ever given our defensive situation though and not playing currently could keep him out of the spotlight, although, we desperately need him. There's a lot if's, but and dependants regarding Samba and I think other clubs will feel they can find better value for money elsewhere... In fact, I think many clubs have already realised that and moved on.

chaddyrovers Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 he played for FC Dallas very late last night (match started 2am or 3am british time)... when is he to come in for a medical? he has played for neither of them so he could use his greek passport to secure a work permit, and still play for US later on right, I believe Jay Demerit did something similar. If he has got a Greek Passport then surely he would not need a work permit. can anybody confirm this???

chaddyrovers Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Ibisevic would be a great signing apart from being injured for 6 weeks. If we sign the 3 players that have been mention by Kammy. Then we just need 2 more signings. I would expect maybe 1 to be a loan. Need a Full Back and Striker.
hawkiiz Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 However good Ibisevic might be, WHO is going to score for us the next 10 weeks? We can't go possibly 1/4 of the season with Roberts and Goodie as main strikers.

kingsleyamis Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Has Ibisevic actually been confirmed by a reliable source as one of the targets? Or has someone just touted him as a possibility and everyone else on here has run with it? I don't recall Kamy identifying the striker target as yet, though forgive me if I'm wrong.

pick32 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 who has actually confirmed Ibisevic? because Glen seems to think its not him.

kingsleyamis Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Kamy has on twitter https://twitter.com/#!/Northern_Rover Ah, right. Thanks for that. So maybe Ibisevic isn't the only striker we're after and one of the loan targets is someone who can come straight into the team and do a job for us. Here's hoping.
glen9mullan Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Ibicevic is a strange one with him being injured, especially with previous serious injuries in the past, He is a player I have been aware of for some time, and I am a little confused, We are definately in the market for him, But we are also in the market for another striker of similar value, I'm struggling to work out which one of these two strikers is the back up option, because I was lead to believe Ibicevic was an alternative. Trying to get to the bottom of it, but strangely getting mixed messages
Kamy100 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 George John is at medical stage. Ibisevic nearly at medical stage, although he is injured at the moment. Never heard of George John. Slightly underwhelmed by Ibisevic. Not exactly a proven goal scorer but is decent. I think after these we will be in for loan players unless a Raul type player becomes available which Balaji funds.
Roversi Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 i still think the flame is burning in the Raul saga, still a decent chunk of the transfer window left and it wouldn't suprise me if the biggest transfer on deadline day is Raul to Blackburn. with Samba, i get the impression spurs are more likly to make a move, Redknapp stated he is contemplating selling Modric as it will enable him to bring in 4 good players. so in turn Samba's and Modric's futures walk hand in hand with each other. I'd love samba to stay as he is so vital for us but i really do sympathise with the guy. Looks like Venky's are beginning to get to grips with the media and the who-ra that is the transfer window, the way they have conducted themselves with the Raul move, Vuckevic deal and the seemingly incoming players in the last couple of days is really postive. Well Done Venkys.

Saviola786 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 kamy can i just confirm are we still after another proven goal scorer
hawkiiz Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 We just CAN'T go on to sign an injured striker with unproven record (yes I know he was great a few years ago, but not that good lately), and have only roberts and goodie as main strikers untill Ibisevic is ready. That would be disaster if you ask me. Get on Defoe/Pav/Crouch or something. Need someone with PL experience too.

Someone RT'd ITK's tweet regarding QPR, which says they'll sign three before the end, and one will be either Pav or Crouch.
