Will have to see what happens Brownie, like you said it could just be a rumour or maybe there is more to it.

I don't see why people would be amazed if clubs started to show interest in Martin, the lad is good attacking player who with a little bit of work on his defensive game and more experience could become a top class full back.

Why would Olsson want to move on tho?

He has said he the past that he is happy at Rovers. Plus with his best friend Hoilett just about to sign a new contract plus Olsson still has 4 years left on his contract aswell.

Olsson signed a new 5 years contract in June 2010

Would made absolutely zero sense to sell him. He is enjoying his football and getting better and better, with his "best friend" Junior, they are both playing basically each and every game, why would any of them leave now? Sure, when they get a bit older and better, Im sure at least one of them will go, but not now. No chance!

With Olsson using his twitter account a few weeks back to reassure Rovers fans that Hoillet will be signing a new deal, I highly doubt that he'll be pushing for a move.

I also think we'd be looking towards to £10m mark before even contemplating such a deal.

Don't know whether those ITK can confirm, however, Newcastle were supposed to have inquired about both Hoilett and Olsson earlier in the summer.

Deals can happen quickly in football, just look at Vuckevic. So he doesn't need to be pushing for a move for it to happen. That being said I don't think it's true.

Agree about the fee I don't think any other club will rate him as highly as we do.

We wont sell anyone to the Barcodes, infact I dont think we will sell anyone else, maybe Spuds will come in for Samba at the last min as they usually do, but I would tell them to bugger off plain and simple.

If we manage to secure the players we have been linked with this week without losing anyone else I will be more optimistic about this season, if we have the squad that started against Wolves I will worry like hell.

Can't say I have heard anything about Olsson over the summer except he is happy at Rovers, although would he be the type of player who would interest Arsenal especially as they have good coinage to spend and Clichy has left?

Hope it just a rumour with no substance, and he aint a bargaining tool for potential deals with Arsenal

I know it doesn't mean much/anything, but I saw a Venky driving out of Ewood Park at around 7pm tonight, dark blue Audi with a variation of VENKY (something like V13 NKY), as I drove past.

I only saw the car, but my missus saw the driver and said it was the Venky who has his hair tied back into a ponytail.

Well, at least it appears progress is being made and with Petrovic and the lad from Sporting, a bit of quality too, Lansbury could be good, been at a good club, will play the right way, however, as I said yeaterday, my concern is the balance of the team/squad and I am not yet convinced this has been addressed!

We need a striker now and a defender who is ready now too, waiting until October for them to be ready could be too late.

If we could get Raul and a top centre back, I would really be optimistic, until those two areas are addressed I have to reserve judgement.
