Backroom Tom Posted August 18, 2011 Backroom Posted August 18, 2011 That article says £6m then further down £3.5m, which is it?
Billy Castell Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I mentioned Janko as a throwaway comment, as we have often been linked with him. I can't be bothered to find any names this late at night, so I'll assume it'll be Janko, Matavz, or El-Hammydooi. Perhaps Nicko will give us a clue.
HemelRover Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That article says £6m then further down £3.5m, which is it? £3.5 for the Serbian, £2.5 for the Montenegrian. £6 mil in total.
Torgeir Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That article says £6m then further down £3.5m, which is it? Yeah, odd. Maybe that's including wages...?
Ossydave Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That article says £6m then further down £3.5m, which is it? An initial 3.5, worth 6 with add-ons etc, u know the script by now surely
Stevo Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That article says £6m then further down £3.5m, which is it? I think it is £3.5mil for Ibisevic and £2.5million for Vuckevic, going from that article. If so, very shrewd indeed! Might be off the mark though, article was poorly written really.
AmazinTim Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That article says £6m then further down £3.5m, which is it? Maybe 6m for both players? That was a strangely positive article from Nicko.
Dariomarcolin Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That article says £6m then further down £3.5m, which is it? Initial £3.5 mil I'd imagine
G Somerset Rover Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Another 6 weeks Medical would surely be interesting then?
Backroom Tom Posted August 18, 2011 Backroom Posted August 18, 2011 £3.5 for the Serbian, £2.5 for the Montenegrian. £6 mil in total. I thought that at first but: Blackburn boss Steve Kean has agreed a £6million deal for Bosnian striker Vedad Ibisevic. Rovers will pay around £3.5million for Ibisevic I imagine the £6m includes wages
danielwhite813 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Why are we buying a striker thats out for 6 weeks.
Balwer Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Blackburn-agree-6m-deal-striker-Vedad-Ibisevic-attacking-midfielder-Simon-Vukcevic-could-sign-Friday-article786991.html so is it £6m or £3.5m? Looks like the sub editor and Alan aren't on the same page.
Ricky Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 £3.5m fee and £2.5 in wages I'm guessing. We know how venkys like to include wages in budgets Sounds like a bit of a bargain. His goal return is pretty good for hoffenheim, just as good as demba ba's.
Billy Castell Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I hope we sign another striker, on loan at least. Ibsevic is out for a couple of months (assuming he's signing of course), and we are really short of options. Perhaps Raul will sign about 2 minutes before the deadline, thus finishing off stroke boy.
tony gale's mic Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Maybe 6m for both players? That was a strangely positive article from Nicko. I wouldn't say it's strangely positive, just that positive things are happening at Ewood for a change. Nicko doesn't have some kind of anti Rovers agenda all of a sudden. It's just things this summer have been utterly shambolic, but still better late than never.
chaddyrovers Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 An initial 3.5, worth 6 with add-ons etc, u know the script by now surely yeah I think you are right there. For 6 million pounds Ibisevic is a bargain.
Dan Furness Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Janko has been scouted on and off by Rovers main scouts for a good few years. Same time they used to go look at Dzeko
Torgeir Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Why are we buying a striker thats out for 6 weeks. Looks like it. There aren't many great strikers around. Ibisevic is a good striker with a decent scoring record, I don't think we'll find anyone better at that price without taking a gamble like we did with Kalinic.
Balwer Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 £3.5m fee and £2.5 in wages I'm guessing. We know how venkys like to include wages in budgets Sounds like a bit of a bargain. His goal return is pretty good for hoffenheim, just as good as demba ba's. So we've signed him to a one year 50K a week deal or two year 25K deal? Otherwise it makes no sense.

My only worry with Ibisevic is that after going on that great run of 18 in 17 he was out for the rest of the season, and since then his goal record has tailed off somewhat. Still, I guess his price of £3.5 million reflects this.
