My only worry with Ibisevic is that after going on that great run of 18 in 17 he was out for the rest of the season, and since then his goal record has tailed off somewhat.

Still, I guess his price of £3.5 million reflects this.

transfermarket.co.uk is normally pretty on the money and they have his value at £5.3m so I'm guessing we paid £6m. I'm ok with that because it's a position of need, the injury is annoying however.

There is an element of a gamble about it but it would have been the case with any striker in our price range. We have a good compliment of players to support the strikers until then and hopefully they can chip in with a few goals.

Ibisevic has only just turned 27, so still has his prime years ahead.....IF we are getting him for £3.5m, when he's valued at £6m then its very good business.

Whether he is out for 6 weeks or not. United waiting for Van Nistlerooy & Downing was on crutches when he signed too.

I'd back him to get goals and lots of them, Players who come from the German league in years gone by have hit the ground running here.

Santa Cruz was not very prolific over there and never played lots, but scored loads here,

Demba Ba who was his strike partner also made a big impression last season.

There are lots of examples of players from that league adapting very quickly over here and he is a belting age, to give Rovers the best years of his career,

Can't wait for him to get fit

soo basically in the past 2 days ive heard or seen we are signing up to 4 players ? and these seem to be from people in the know

simon vukevic(sp) ..vedad ibisevic...george john ...henri lansbury

add to that that raul wants to come ..we would be miles stronger then last season in my opinion ....

So should we expect Vuckevic to be confirmed in the morning? He'll have to be done by 3pm to play Villa so...

Hope so. Got an invite to the match on Saturday, will take it up if we have a couple of new boys on show, otherwise, sounds like Cheshire Oaks !

This is getting a bit exciting now :) Glenn - can we expect a couple of these deals to be sorted tomorrow then?

Hopefully two of the deals will be sorted by tomorrow, but if not then very early next week. The only way these deals can fall through now is the players failing their medicals as all other terms have been agreed.

Hat's off to Rovers negotiating team, they have in the last three weeks (since Kentaro were dumped) gone out and delivered some signings. Even after these there is still at least some possibilities of a couple of loan deals, and who knows maybe just maybe one more permanent signing.

Even if these players are signed tomorrow, i'd be amazed if they are involved on Saturday as they will not have trained with the other players.

Forget that place mate, there's only 3 decent shops. Get down to Villa!

Ibisevic, when he was at his best was linked with every elite club in Europe. Excellent player.

Should we expect John to be the main defensive signing ahead of Onuoha? Kean did say the other day that we could be in for possibly 2 CB'S.

Kamy, is Lansbury an actual possibility? Is there any progress on it or just talk for now?

Even though Vukcevic would get a work permit we'd still have to do the formalities so I don't see how he could play Saturday. It would be wise to get a couple of them finalised for Wednesday as it may bolster the attendance a bit.
