You should have watched the Inter coaches with the young lads on Television, he was at pains to stress about shape and moving together, If a wide player gets too far advanced from his full back, how does he give the full back either cover or an option if the full back has the ball?

Football is about options, alienate a player and he has no options either defensively nor offensively.

I'm sorry but every single half decent coach in the land will tell you as a full back to show the opposition player on to his weaker foot, it's basic defending. I'd be worried if there were people like you coaching kids because you don't seem to have a clue. Cue magiball to come in and defend you but you're both wrong

A lot of wingers are two footed nowadays. The manager will respond to the best method available on the day. Some days forcing him wide will work because the full back is able to nail the winger and stop the crosses coming in, while other days the winger can't cope with coming inside where there's more cover..

There is more than one way to play a winger.

I will disagree and so will many top coaches, you cant score from the wide areas, remember, I said two them, if he got past the first one down the line, the second one would take him out and if he comes inside, goal threat number 1 from either a shot or a clumsy challenge in the area, thae first and most important hing I would ask any attacking player to do is to take players on in the box, you dont want them there, you cant put a challenge in.

I wont argue with you, you have your ideas but mine have seved me well over the years with my teams winning LFA youth cups under 18s, seven players on soccer scholorships in the states and at least 20 playing a minimum of semi pro level.

Oh and by the way, Majiball has his badges too and is employed by a football league club

Just one thing about weaker feet, if a winger comes inside to a naturally right full back, he is taking the full back on his weaker side too!

Why the sudden slating of Dunny.. IMO and was shared by many last weekend, he looks fitter than he has done for a long while (I would argue since the season before moving to Birmingham) he looked in better trim, quicker and more spritly than he has in an awful long while not only making the full 0mins but still looking alive at the end.
