chocky Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 How do you know? Who's your source? I'm fed up with all these ITK's on here. Next I'll be asked to read between the lines and form an educated opinion or something. It just won't wash. I think he means that in order for a player to be eligible for tomorrows match they would have to have been signed up by 12.00 today...

Kelbo Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 With the bank holiday, what is the cut off date for this transfer window?
bob fleming Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I think he means that in order for a plyer to be eligible for tomorrows match they would have to have been signed up by 12.00 today... That's barely half way through the four day medical chocks! Kean said that he was confident in having one of the new players in the squad for Saturday's game..............

Kean said that he was confident in having one of the new players in the squad for Saturday's game.............. Ithink one might be... The Serbian international is now eligible to play after red tape prevented the midfielder from playing a part in last week's opening league match and could feature against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday. Radosav Petrovic.
Stuart Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 That's barely half way through the four day medical chocks! Kean said that he was confident in having one of the new players in the squad for Saturday's game.............. Kean will probably class Goodwillie as one of the new players.
alexanders Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Very impressed by Raul Bobadilla. Striker for Munchengladbach. Argentinian. Quick and very good technique. And there he scorers.
Majiball Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I'm sorry but every single half decent coach in the land will tell you as a full back to show the opposition player on to his weaker foot, it's basic defending. I'd be worried if there were people like you coaching kids because you don't seem to have a clue. Cue magiball to come in and defend you but you're both wrong Do the expressions 'it depends on the moment' or 'in the main' not have the same meaning where you herald from? Since it's basic defending and every half decent coach in the country would agree, I'd like to ask a couple of questions: What badges have you done? Not a I've got higher than you, but each invokes a higher level of the game and understanding. What half decent coaches have you spoken to to gain that opinion? My final question is if it's so basic and so obvious why don't we see every full back in the world of football showing them inside as opposed to outside? Should you wish to respond with such explanatory responses as 'you haven't a clue' and 'it's basic defending' then I too get to do the same, fair enough?
Mercer Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Do you not remember last year? Mercerman - would you rather they rush a medical and sign a crock just to please people or wait an extra day or so? Of course I remember last year, however, circumstances now very different. IMO, all the talk from £50m to whatever we eventually spend, has just been a huge load of verbal diarrhoea. FFS, United do medicals inside a day - all geared-up at The Bridgewater Hospital. You get what you pay for. IMO, we are so dysfunctional as a club it's untrue. This shower of sh1te have had so many planning meetings and budget meetings etc that this process should have been a relative walk in the park. I'm with Jim on this, 80% of our business should have been done weeks ago in order to get players settled-in, working as a unit etc. BPF, I never, never hope we lose but if we do tomorrow, I hope we get hammered because something dramatic needs to happen at our once great and proud club. If it doesn't, I very much doubt if we will get out of the bottom three at any point this season. Most people I speak with are absolutely p1ssed-off with what's going on and these include die hards who go back years and years. Today, I also met people who don't support Rovers and, to many people, we are seen as a sad joke now. It's time for a serious dose of reality for all instead of looking through those blue tinted spectacles.

The one thing I've gained after watching two and a half years of Allardyce's ###### football is patience. Try it, it might help.
den Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The one thing I've gained after watching two and a half years of Allardyce's ###### football is patience. It was a walk in the park compared to what's happened since.
Billy Castell Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 There's a dose of reality Mercerman, and there's running around with no pants on trying to p__s on everyone's chips. You are one of the posters who'd complain if there was a cure for AIDS, developed by the VH Group part of the empire. You'd be first to moan why they didn't realise X, Y or Z earlier, that the world's population is too big etc. Just because other posters don't want to top themselves at any given moment or wail that the sky is falling every 10 seconds doesn't mean they love Kean, think we'll win the league under Venky's ownership. It must be so wonderful living in such a monochrome world. I apologise if you feel like I am singling you out, but all the posters who have this 'If you don't agree with me you are a deluded idiot' stance annoy me. Lets just see how these transfers go. They may actually come off, and we may have a squad that a good manager (i.e. not Kean) could do something with.
braddock Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The one thing I've gained after watching two and a half years of Allardyce's ###### football is patience. Try it, it might help. Indeed. It seems most have simply clung to the depression he brought instead.
Billy Castell Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Personally speaking, Kean and Ince have depressed me more than Sam, whilst the Rao family have driven me mad. Hopefully we can finalise the transfer of Vuckevic from Sporting Lesbian after the Villa game, and then get the other players mentioned before the deadline day. I can't be doing with all that nonsense.,
Henwah Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Very impressed by Raul Bobadilla. Striker for Munchengladbach. Argentinian. Quick and very good technique. And there he scorers. Quality name - sign him up!
bob fleming Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Indeed. It seems most have simply clung to the depression he brought instead. The football was often tedious. Can't deny that. The new manager and his points per game ratio, his lies and deceit, the ineptitude of the new owners and lack of direction, the lack of statements from the Board, the lack of a Board, the exodus of experienced people who could have guided our new owners through all of this, the fact that in effect that we are now run from Pune, India, rather than Ewood, Blackburn, the fact we employ Anderson's son... All that depresses me immensely. Yet if we make a few signings I can put all that to the back of my mind. Somehow. I'll worry about the debt bit later.
Majiball Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 All that depresses me immensely. Yet if we make a few signings I can put all that to the back of my mind. Somehow. But can you really Bob?
BuckyRover Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I found out on my trip to India that Pune is pronounced Poo-nay. Fancy that
B75 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Check out Simon bird on the mirror football website with his predictions for the rovers game . What a knob

Hopefully we can finalise the transfer of Vuckevic from Sporting Lesbian after the Villa game, and then get the other players mentioned before the deadline day. I can't be doing with all that nonsense., The problem I had with Sam is that it was always cynical and negative, both on and off the pitch. He always set us up to play as the inferior side trying to prevent the other team playing, and talked about us being underdogs surviving due to his brilliance alone. We needed that at the time he came in, and the following season under owners who had little ambition or interest in the club. If Sam could talk the club up instead of himself, and put his clearly superior (to Kean) knowledge into positive football then he would have been the man to take us forward - unfortunately this was never likely Many football fans look to their team for escapism from the rigors of life via entertainment on a Saturday afternoon, and/or hope of achieving beyond our station - Sam's football and personality offered neither (imho) That's why although he is safer than Kean, he was also more depressing I found out on my trip to India that Pune is pronounced Poo-nay. Fancy that Poo-nay never no more! Can't see it catching on!

A term coined to justify Kean in his early days. Possibly even coined by the man himself. I'll take winning football every time. Anyway.... Plenty of people viewing the threads tonight but nothing really going on. Is there any new info?

Most fans want to see their team win first and foremost. Fans will, mostly, get more depressed by seeing their team lose despite attempting to play nice football, than they will seeing their team gain crucial victories whilst playing not so nice football. You can speak for yourself, but you can't argue that applies to the vast majority of fans. Look at the attendance for the first game of the season this season versus last season. That should tell you everything.

I'll take winning football every time. Anyway.... Plenty of people viewing the threads tonight but nothing really going on. Is there any new info? If there is a different word which means the same thing that Kean hasn't ruined then just substitute it :-) You know what I mean though - playing our game and letting the opposition deal with us rather than set out to stop the opposition - just because the daft twunt used the word doesn't make the meaning of it less valid Football used to be about entertainment - I've watched rovers for about 25 years (I'm 32 before people start talking about the dark middle ages when we... Etc), and my favourite season was the promotion season in 2000/2001 - confident, attacking, and entertaining! It wasn't where we were that mattered, it was the fact we had exciting players that would have a go. I know winning is important, but we lost plenty games under Sam where we never even tried to win, I'd rather lose 4-3 than lose 1-0
Pugg Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Argh the Sam debate for the 1000th time. Tony, I dare you not to get involved any more! If we can keep the players we have and add the few players we've been linked with this week I'll feel a lot happier. Fingers crossed they'll sign and come good.
