Arsenal scouted NZonzi a few years ago but spotted Jones and tracked him instead. I wouldn't put him at that level yet though he is showing more promise now our management allows him to actually pass the ball and not just use his head.

Olsen similarly has potential to be an Arsenal player but isn't there yet. Would be interesting to see their (and our) valuations.

Hope it's not true anyway, we need stability and growth for a period, rather than going one step forward followed by two back.

Gibbs has made the full England squad and with the midfielders we are going to sign, I would do that swap any day!

Looking at wiki:

Olsson's played 63 premier league games in a prominent role for Rovers. Gibbs, and Arsenal fringe player, has played 19 PL games, many as a sub.

Olsson has scored 2 goals in 3 international appearances for Sweden.

Gibbs came on as a sub for England.

That's not even looking at the skills of either, those are just numbers.

IMO, we are seen as a club that has no longer got its act together and therefore vulnerable to interest from 'big clubs' for our best players when 'heads get turned'.

We have another 12 days to get through and I fear that we are in for some testing times where the likes of Robbo, Samba, Olsson, Nzonzi & Hoilett are concerned.

Very scary.

We have always been seen as that, you cant really blame Venky's for the bigger clubs picking the meat off our bones it has always happened.

We have always been seen as that, you cant really blame Venky's for the bigger clubs picking the meat off our bones it has always happened.

You can blame them for everything else though.

Beerwins - the 'smaller' clubs will always be a tad more exposed but when there is, IMO, chaos behind the scenes, vulnerability is even higher.

You rate Gibbs over Olsson? Lansbury over NZonzi? I can't agree there.

ollsen as a left winger is dynamite, as a full back i'm yet to be convinced. His value to the team going forward is immense and i could see arsenal wanting him as an attacking player but Gibbs is'nt going anywhere for a long time. The story really falls apart by throwing in N'zonzi........imo we can do far better so i have'nt got a clue why wenger would be interested, when N'zonzi first joined maybe when he was younger with potential in the wenger mould for a signing but not now just would'nt make sense think arsenal fans would spit feathers if he was the calibre of player they replace fabregas with.

I dont know why but after the PJ fiasco I think we have become harder to deal with, I think Venky's have plenty of faults but I dont see anybody getting an easy ride trying to poach players that Venky's want to keep.

I suppose time will tell.

Agree - unfortunately, in the meantime, you have unsettled players whose heads have been turned, eg Samba, Givet etc.

@mercerman imo no one is coming in for robbo imo. No one is coming in for olsson imo. Imo no one is coming in for n'zonzi. Imo no one is coming in for hoilett imo...
