If Philipl knew anything remotely negative about Kean I dont for one minute believe he'd have kept it to himself. If he knew something he would have posted it. He just tries desperately hard to find a way of taking a pop at Kean in every Rovers story that breaks regardless of whether he has any facts. Sad.

Really doubt that we could play both parker and petrovic as the two defensive mids in a 4-2-3-1. Both players are box to box and love getting forward so I doubt it would work. We need a midfield destroyer really to play alongside petrovic rather than nzonzi. Thats why the J.Jones and P.Jones partnership worked so well, it was the perfect balance to get the best out of J.Jones.

I just can't see Olsson leaving rovers because he has said that he is HAPPY AT ROVERS!!!

Nicko on twitter has just said nothing in the Olsson story to Villa and thats from horse's mouth this morning!!!

Wow the youngest and least experienced team sheet I think I have ever seen predicted... must have experience and strength further up the pitch (and not talking Roberts).

My thoughts entirely. Are we preparing for a future we won't have? There has to be a balance betwwen immediate needs and future ones.

Abbey, I can see your point but two things:

1. I can't see Villa offering anywhere near the amount needed to get us to accept a bid for him, this close to the end of the window.

2. I really can't see him begging to leave, to go to Villa. Maybe a bigger side but not those lot.

Clubs recieve enquiries for players on a daily basis, more so towards the end of the window, Every club in the Premiership will be in constant contact with each other over the next 11 days seeing who is available, and who is not.

There will also be other clubs who put speculative bids in for players especially if that players agent indicates the player would have an interest in a move to that club.

Every player has a price irrespective of what club he plays for, and if crazy money comes in for any player it will have to be considered by Rovers on its own Merit.

On Olsson he has blossomed over the last 12 months after a couple of seasons of being found out on numerous occassions on his defensive abilities. With Rovers looking for pace and skill in the wide positions the chance of Olsson being deployed as a left winger are looking slim by the day.

Its a question of how good Rovers really rate him as an out an out Left back? To if they would consider a sale

IMO any sort of bid of £8 Million plus from anyone is not something which should or could be dismissed. Rovers need to build a solid defence who do exactly that defend. The players we are chasing further up the feild are very attack minded which will mean our defenders will have to be more solid this season. There is little point having a full back who bombs on beyond the winger if the winger is not great at defending, or covering for such forward runs.

I'm pretty sure Rovers will have these things in mind when they decide what the best defensive unit is for us.

The question mark over Olsson will always be his ability to defend and stop crosses coming in, on this basis it's an area of the pitch we could improve on and one i'm sure the coaching staff have already highlighted

That is correct.

Plus aren't Villa trying to cut down their wage bill and not looking to spend big money on players and use their youn players coming through.

Glen, I do agree that Olsson is not the best on the left back at defending and this is why he should be playing on the left wing using his pace and skill!!!

This is why I said we need a left back in this transfer window IMO!!!

That's easily solved--------don't play him at left-back!

Buy a specialist left-back, like Warnock, and play Olsson where he is most effective.

Link yourself in transfer speculation with a player you fear in ateam you're about to play. Oldest trick in the window, spurs have been doing it for years...... Move on and ignore, hope OlSson can too

Also Villa have sold 2 of the better players in Downing and A.Young.

Look at Warnock, he want to villa to win trophy and he win NOTHING!!!

8m for parker is a no brainer, we could even throw in diouf as part of the deal.

The price would go up if Rovers went for Parker. Cannot see Sam wanting to do business with Rovers.

Just a thought on Olsson, it's been said Hoilett is signing a new deal this week with a bit of luck, Hoilett and Olsson are good friends, maybe Martin has seen what Junior is going to be earning and would like a new deal himself.

I heard he was at Bolton discussing terms yesterday. No idea if either true, but sounds just like a variation on that rumour to me.
