That's easily solved--------don't play him at left-back!

Buy a specialist left-back, like Warnock, and play Olsson where he is most effective.

The point Glen was making is that Rovers are actively trying to bring in a pacey winger on the left flank. They tried with Vieirinha. When that failed they've gone for Vukcevic and all but signed him. In view of the fact we are trying so hard to bring in a left winger, with no attempt whatsoever to bring in a left back, it seems Rovers don't see Olsson as a left winger.

Whether that's right or wrong, it is what it is. So I can see Glen's point. Though I disagree. Olsson and Hoillet on the left flank was pretty exciting and Hoillet isn't know for his defending. I have a feeling that Kean is quite happy to sacrifice defensive stability for a little flair.

Also Villa have sold 2 of the better players in Downing and A.Young.

Look at Warnock, he want to villa to win trophy and he win NOTHING!!!

nicko has ask AM about Villa interest in Olsson and he has told nicko nothing in it!!!!!!!!!

Wrong, he was sold against his will. He wanted to stay or end up at Liverpool/Everton.

The price would go up if Rovers went for Parker. Cannot see Sam wanting to do business with Rovers.

I don't think the West Ham owners necessarily like us either. But frankly it's irrelevant as money is everything in this game. If we're prepared to pay, they'll deal. Question is, are we?

And why is going to Villa such a step up exactly?

Ask bent? I've not said it's a step up jeez , mind you wiith the V's Sunday pub footy is a step up. Alls I'm saying is if villa come with big money in his wallet he will go! Get real they are all mercenaries , warnock went.

Hate to say it but after Vuckovic and Petrovic arrive, I think we could now be struggling to get more players in than will leave in the rest of this window.

Seems that Kean has been a bit of a cock with a couple of players.

Philip you really DO need to be a bit more up-front with your posts. The bit highlighted being a typical instance. If you have got something to say then for goodness sake have the courage to come right out and say it; and let's have no more of your unsupported innuendo.

If you feel that you cannot do that then for God's sake dont bother posting at all!

I heard he was at Bolton discussing terms yesterday. No idea if either true, but sounds just like a variation on that rumour to me.

That is true - his car (black range rover) Something like P777 SWP was pictured near Boltons training ground.

I'm pretty sure Rovers will have these things in mind when they decide what the best defensive unit is for us.

Who in the Rovers set up has the proven ability to ensure and decide we have the best defensive unit?

One of Arsenal's first choice CBs has just come off with a back injury and they've had to bring on a 19 year old Spaniard for his debut - Wenger will be desperate for a new CB now.

Cahil and Samba seemingly top of his list...

Also, if what I've heard this morning is correct, expect at least one selection shocker today.

GIve us a clue, MM...?

Yeah I saw that - quite worrying. Then again, desperation adds a premium to any price (or swap)...

If Samba goes for around 15million we should just pay 7million for Dann and bring in Onuoha for 3million then spend 4million on a proper left back.

Onuoha Nelsen Dann ?

spend more then 2 or 3 million on a player, that would be nice.

Seems Bassong is available at 2mill according to bbc gossip page that states a turkish is after him at that price. Even at 3 or 4 we should get in there.

I would take Bassong at that price any day of the week. It also fits into our £2m theme.

Edit-Don't think they actually would sell him for that price, this is Spurs we're talking about.

I'd whack up the price for Samba, because Arsenal are definitely going to be desperate for a defender after todays performance!

Part of me is hoping that City bid for him, so we could get Onouha and about 11 million - that would allow us to improve the team as well as getting a decent centre half. He isn't an out and out replacement though, im not certain anyone could replace what Samba brings to us.

Samba is a very good player for us , but he can be erratic and makes errors ..Think Arsenal can do better in the marketplace than him . Spurs is a possibility ,they just buy players , than see what happens .City , no chance not good enough .

Which ever way , we are knackered , without him!!
