newfan Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I think they should have played him and Formica today and gone for a 4-5-1. Last week we should have gone for a more orthodox 4-4-2, Keen's an idiot and like most others just can't see what Venkys see in him. venky see kean nodding the head whatever Balaji says

waggy Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 we are short of players, venkys have got the money back that they paid for the club, any owners with a ounce of passion for the club they own would release cash, not the slumdogmillionaires,i for one would be very suprised if we have 3 new faces in the next 10 days unless we sell one of our stars.every fan has known we were short of players in july, why make the season a 35 game one,the blame for our poor start rests in the boardroom
Taggart Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Can't be arsed to reply properly read any pundit or ask someone else who watched the game, he looked forward, worked hard, looked strong and tried to play. Completely agree - I watched this on holiday as they had the match on, he looked very good when he came on, good on the ball, good eye for passing (short and long), quite quick, draw a couple of fouls in good positions, and got himself in the box when needed. Him and Nzonzi looked quite good together
walk down bolton road Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 IMO. Players we need before the window shuts.Right full back,Salgado great pro but sadly not capable any more, teams are targeting him has a weak link, why was Bruno Ribero bought ?,the reports from people who have seen him play are not good. Left full back, the loss of Warnock like him or not was very damaging, the best left full back we have had since Le Saux, remember till Warnock was signed we struggled for years without a recognised player for this position, never been replaced and since he left we have had a make do and mend approach to this position. Centre half, last season the strongest part of the team,a commited to the cause Samba would be a great help, same applies to Givet,Nelson maybe his best years are over, struggles for fitness,Hanley promising youngster but needs time that we have not got.Why we are not busting a gut to sign Onouha from MCFC is beyond me,would do the defence a power of good. Defensive midfielder, the loss of Phil Jones was a real body blow,in hindsight and going of the 2 matchs so far with him in the team we would be far and away a better team, ineffect losing him was the same as losing 2 players to BRFC,CENTRE HALF and DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD with his loss and Jermaine Jones the defence is exposed. Centre forward, so many names suggested if we could get a 10 to 15 goals man just like Santa Cruz admittidly first season or Benni McCarthy when he kept away from BURGER KING or Bellamy.they are out there.
Iceman Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 We need ###### defenders, not wasting 6mill on an injured ###### striker
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 We need ###### defenders, not wasting 6mill on an injured ###### striker We need 2 of both Iccers - and preferably injury free!

Good post, i agree with everything you've said. Think we need that Ibsevic and Cisse, Cisse seems to be itching for the move to the premier league now, 5 goals in 3 games as well, his value is only going to go up. We need 2 full backs, I would have Warnock and Onouha to play those and with what he have in the centre that would be a strong defence.

Veevs Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 10 days including 2 match days and a bank holiday.. plus Kean apparently jetting off to Canada... not good. Scary thing is 3 seperate commentators said we needed 5 or more players yesterday.. I just can't see us getting more than 3 (including one we don't need and an injured striker) if we even get that many, every transfer we have done this summer has taken over a week to complete and we have just over a week to get this sorted.

We keep shopping abroad, which is invariably cheaper but also a fair number of players need permits...time is pretty nuch up now to get those type of players in.
Taggart Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 He played for 12 minutes get a grip what a tit you are eh ? get a grip ? for posting how I thought he played in the time he was on - jog on tosser
stu07 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 what a tit you are eh ? get a grip ? for posting how I thought he played in the time he was on - jog on tosser From what I saw of him he did well and others have said the same. I'd play him in midweek and see how he does. I wouldn't play Dunn and Pederson, give others the chance to shine.

Him and Nzonzi looked quite good together Really don't think we can play NZonzi and Petrovic, you have to have an experienced older head in there as well.. a battling leader with experience so a JJ, Tugay, Savage or Barton style player. JJ and Petrovic would be a near perfect partnership. As long as Kean is manager though I reckon we will keep throwing away money on to many young lads from abroad... I would really not be suprised to see him attempt to play Petrovic, Formica, Goodwillie, Nzonzi, Jnr and Vuki (if we ever get round to signing him) in midfield at some point which may look good but IMO would be a disaster.
Billy Castell Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I hope we can just sign some of these players despite the chaos. We need a better squad for the next manager, if he ever comes.
andyroversmad Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Why are we trying to sign a striker who is injured for another month ?
Halstead Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Huge week for rovers about to begin which could dictate our season Wed- game against sheff wed- we need to bring some structure to the side and get some confidence back into the lads and this is a perfect opportunity. Transfers- We need to get the right players in which will improve the STARTING 11 its no good Kean putting our new signings on the bench and relying on the same old. Desperately need a Proven goalscorer that can guarantee us goals. Try and look for some good last minute loans that will add strength in depth. Although I think its more important to try and get the right personal in that will be starting. Also a true test for venkys and kean is to keep Samaba, under no circumstance should we let him go. Spurs have done it before and will do it again a last minute bid which if accepted will leave us short and without our rock. Injuries- Get samba and nelson back fighting fit this will bring the structure back into the team and give us a fighting chance. Everton on sat - A fresh start at Home against a team with as little confidence as us, but with our home support and hopefully new signings in that will boost morale. Get the shape back into the team and get the 3 points to kick start our season Huge week which could prove to be a triumph or one that could signal the end for Mr kean. Keep the faith !
Veevs Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Why are we trying to sign a striker who is injured for another month ? More than a month I believe.. some time in October plus he will need time to get fit as well.
steo Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Owen Hargreaves is still available and surely would be a good signing on a pay as you play deal, signing an injured striker is pointless,i fear Samba will leave this week and be replaced by Onouha,i hate our owners who by the way have lied since day one and i have lost all faith in Steve Kean.VENKY'S need to invest their own money this week and sign Papiss Cisse or a proven goal scorer,we also need a right back and Serge Aurier should have been signed he has massive potential,Paddy McCourt wants to leave Celtic,he is one of the most skilfull players i have ever seen but lacks fitness at 1 million though he would be an awesome impact sub.
Pelio Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Anyone know if Kean has actually flown to Canada to tie up Hoilett's contract?
Kelbo Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Anyone know if Kean has actually flown to Canada to tie up Hoilett's contract? More than likely, you know he thinks he's a real jet setter, why not pay for Hoiletts dad to come here and then Kean can get on with the job of sorting the team out? Better still, can he stay in Canada for a while, maybe a few years
steo Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Anyone know if Kean has actually flown to Canada to tie up Hoilett's contract? If he has he is a bloody muppet,it should have been sorted long ago,he was our best player by a mile yesterday

It doesn't surprise me though. People are so quick to try and get any sort of dig in that logic goes completely out of the window.

He's a Bellend.
Pelio Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 If he does manage to get Hoilett to sign up then it'll be the best thing he's done to date. Go, get it done ASAP then get back to sign up some more players we so desperately need.

Not defending the decision, should have been sorted weeks (months) ago but leaving Hoilett's contract with six months to go, going into the final days of the transfer window would be suicide. A bid of 3-5m on the last day from a top club he'd be gone.
