Absolutely staggered at the perception that our new owners are spending money.

Transfer fees in = c£23m. Fees out =c£5m.

Kean tells us that some 12 players have gone whilst only 3 in. Must be a MASSIVE saving on wages.

Some people on this MB need to wake-up, get real and smell the coffee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

interesting comments made by Salgado

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/aug/21/aston-villa-blackburn-rovers-premier-league

I'm not having a go, Chaddy - I just look forward to your '11 o'clockers!'

and I weren't having a go at you Steve. I just didn't see the point of posting a aricle that we all know 2/3 days ago that's all.

I'm going to take a bit of a flier here, however, heard tonight that any remaining signings this window (including those ongoing) will need to be balanced-off by a sale or sales. We will know in 10 days whether this is accurate or not.

Chaddy - wtf don't you get a life instead of posting a minus against any post I make. When do your school holidays finish ?

Sometimes, you wonder what some folk on here do for a living.

Specifics are asked for and when posted, if it doesn't fit their agenda, you are voted down.

I really think it's time that some folk on this MB got real, stopped playing feckin Football Manager and get off their arses and tried to make a difference. The alternative, is, IMO, to see your club die.

You keep repeating yourself. Ask the admins for a sticky thread where you can whinge all you like. I agree that these are concerning times but you're not bringing anything new to the table. Let people discuss transfers and suggest players who haven't been linked and let's keep the Kean/Venky's bashing to the respective threads.

Biggest indication yet that all is not well with the squad. Seems that they are unsure as the rest of us about arrivals/departures, are clearly aware of the negativity arund the club and aren't focused!

Anyone else think that Salgado would make a great short term player manager?

Seems like you are incapable of understanding simple facts. Anyway, had enough now, off to Scotland for a couple of days.

Vukevic might be a decent player but how can it be that we need him? We have Formica, Rochina, Hoilett and Olssen as players who can play wide or in the hole. We need a target man for them to play off as the ball never sticks up front.

If Ibisevic isn't ready till October then we shouldn't be buying him, personally I would have gone for Jelavic at Rangers or N'gog at Liverpool. Things are so bad I'm starting to wish we had kept Benjani.

Vukcevic is a big step up from anything we have in the middle - you will see that if we sign him. Lansbury would be another very good signing given his potential, ability, age and home grown status.

Striker wise - Ibisevic @ £3.5m in installements, rising to £6m based on different things is excellent business, injured or not.

To tide us over id sign Bellamy on loan

personally, I think it was a mistake to let Benjani go. He did show some flashes of brilliance last season, and would probably do us good as a decent squad player/impact player.

Yes, he chose pompey, but I read that the contract offered by Rovers was quite low?

Anyway, what do you guys make of Salgado's comments in the guardian?

Salgado's biggest concern is that the Blackburn players do not know what the squad will look like at the end of the month. "We need to know now the players that are committed to the team and committed to the club," the full-back said. "We're 10 days away [from the transfer window closing] and we don't know if new signings are coming or if any other players are leaving. We need to know that as soon as possible. It's very difficult for the manager to work like that."

Vukcevic would appear to be a quality player and Oklahoma has been singing his praises for some time. However, if he signs when is he going to get a game? Is he fit and ready to go? Or are we going to have the usual "3-4 weeks to get himself matchfit and then we'll introduce him slowly" nonsence.

The loan signings are the key as clearly we've not got any serious money to spend. I'm not in favour of signing any up and coming youngsters (Wilson at Liverpool for example)on loan. Rovers need to pull a couple of experienced "J Jones" out of the bag or we are in "it" up to our neck.

Bellamy, maybe not, but someone of his experience yes please.

Blimey Hughesy.. none of those signings will fix the issues we have at the moment.. Leadership in the middle of the park, experience, central defensive cover, immediate goals scored and backup accross the back four.

Without organisation and a strong communicator in midfield/defence our team fell to bits.. at one point Dunn almost got himself injured by running smack bang face first into Salgado.. these are two senior experienced players not communicating and one of them had to of been out of position we need someone out there who can get things organised.

How would Lansbury help now?.. do we need Vukcevic now?.. we really need players in other positions, not two more attacking midfielders and an injured striker. Don't get me wrong, Vuki is a decent player who can turn a game, but he is renown as a flash harry who often can be overly selfish and is not likely to be doing much covering back... Ibisevic is also a good player but that 6m should go on a striker available now.

Spot on.

I'm really doing my best to wait until Deadline Day to pass a final judgement but I don't see a whole lot to be hopeful about.

When I wake up (at about 3pm GMT, I expect some signings!)

Couldn't agree more BUT Nelson and I am sorry to say this, has probably gone on (lost what pace he had)

I don't think that is the case with Nelson, I do reckon he will miss a few through injury but this weekends showing was down to simple fitness, hell he has not played pre-season etc.. he has hardly trained since coming back just a week ago and as Kean put it Nelson put himself forward for the match. Really shows the chaps character.

Worrying that we had to play someone who was not near match fitness for the full game... that has to of been risky as been rushed back like that can lead to further injuries.

As for Salgados comments.. well "We need to know now the players that are committed to the team and committed to the club" is pretty obvious to anyone, someone is rocking the boat and that would have to be Givet or Samba, so if they want out get them out now and replace them quick.. hell just listen to the podcast says it all really.

The Ibisevic deal is not excellent as we need someone who is ready to play and make a difference now. We will be on our way to relegation by the time he plays and when will he be match fit?

Vukcevic might be a good player but I doubt he is "a big step up" from Olssen and Hoillet who have both been playing well in the PL for over a year. We have Mauro and Rochina to cover them.

What we desperately need is two centre halves who can do a job in this league, a good target man, and an all round central midfielder to compete with Nzonzi, Petrovic and Pedersen. Lansbury seems to be another Rochina/Formica to me, not what we need.

I'm all for playing young, attacking players but it has to be in the context of a team and the players around them have to give them a solid base to play off. Our current squad will fade out of every game as it stands.

How the hell Kean can't see that, I don't know...

Yes but football is getting more fans in india its an up and coming market. I know its easy to say but its not just shirt sales that was just an example even 0.1% of 1.2billion people is alot. I think the academy could be useful in india aswell. And when you hear people saying we shouldnt have an academy over there its just rubbish. If we ever get an indian player which they are planning on he will earn the club alot of money and i hope we can find some talent in india cus we are the first team to put an academy out there.

For people's information Liverpool already started setting up academy in Delhi with former Liverpool player Steve mcman to assist because Steve himself is the academy director for one of the football club(Churchill brothers Goa) in India. Liverpool are planning to travel to India in a years time (better balaji to be quick)

It's still a bloody poor country though.

Interspersed between the blue chip companies are people living in tents with no shoes.

Better look at the India in your own eyes rather then BBC news you will find the difference. people in India have lots of disposable income.

Some truth in what your saying about Ibisevic but the fact we're trying to sign an injured striker smacks of desperation. Could be Xmas before he's ready to go as you can guarantee he'll pick up another niggle after 6-8 weeks out. Need quality up front now and not a midget like Bellamy. Keep saying it but why we haven't snapped up Trezeguet is beyond me. May only be for 12 months but 1000% improvement on Roberts, huge experience to pass on to the younger players, has a superb scoring record and is free.

Getting him in would boost the club and allow Ibisevic time to settle in.

Roberts, Ibisevic, Trezeguet, Hoilett, Goodwillie would be an excellent blend of styles and age.

Does anyone think that Arsenal might not let Lansbury go considering their current midfield crisis? With Frimpong getting sent off on the weekend, Lansbury might be in with a shout of first team (he was on the bench on Saturday).

Was thinking the same, when I was watching the game on Saturday. Arsenal are woefully short in midfiled at the moment, also appears that Nasri's move is back on. Lansbury may feel that this is his opportunity to stake a claim.
