Iceman Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Mata has been going on for weeks. You just see the end of it, whereas every link is discussed on here as if it's a signing from day one. Point is, that he had his medical and signed on the same day. It has nothing to do, with how many clubs he has been linked with etc. We have players on 2 day medicals, and surely keep your visa on you or something.

vintageadidas Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Who at the club (in a senior position) has the power to push former players as managerial candidates? All the long standing Directors are all but gone from the club. The owners would say Tugay who? Nobody at the club has their finger on the pulse regarding actual football concerns.
LeChuck Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 What about Tugay as manager? We need a safe pair of hands, that's just a massive risk. He can't do any worse than Kean but it's really not the sort of appointment we should be making. We need another Allardyce-esque appointment; someone who can come in and steady a sinking ship.
Iceman Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 What about Tugay as manager? Well all you mortals, will have to bow down to the great Turkish Delight if you want him to be manager We need a safe pair of hands, that's just a massive risk. He can't do any worse than Kean but it's really not the sort of appointment we should be making. We need another Allardyce-esque appointment; someone who can come in and steady a sinking ship. Martin O Neill?

I still think Souness could do a job here
Jamesw1982 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Vuykcevic has all but signed expected 2 be announced 2mro will make his debut wednesday. No defender was at brockhall today or so i been told but i dunno how sure that is. ALSO dunno if its true but ive heard kean has been given everton n fulham games he loses them both hes gone.
stu07 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 These smack of desperation and terrible journalism. They clutch at straws and make up rumours by the look of it. The spanish reference is bizzare. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/front_page/9569798.stm http://www.clicklancashire.com/sport/blackburn-rovers-fc/1210275-blackburn-rovers-close-in-manchester-united-midfielder-gibson.html Bit more credible but again no information of note - seems this guy has been searching the forums. http://www.clicklancashire.com/sport/blackburn-rovers-fc/1210278-blackburn-rovers-target-arsenal-midfielder.html

stu07 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I still think Souness could do a job here Never liked him when he was in charge, lost a few good players because of him but would prefer him to Kean as he would get alot more respect. I think the likes of Hughes and Alladyce must be looking at Kean and thinking what the hell has he done to all the work we put in there. Never thought i'd say this but if we went out on wednesday and get outplayed maybe it would be a good thing cause then hopefully Venkys would take notice and sack him.
tugay5 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I wish he would get the sack james but he seems to be bulletproof
Jamesw1982 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 No he isnt bulletproof far from it. The venkys themselves are far from convinced now following his court trial etc and they believe if they are to sign the marquee players they so desperate to sign, kean is affecting that.
vintageadidas Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 IF they get rid of Kean - it will be another compensation payout, which all adds up when you consider Sam, Williams and so on. Are Venky's actually as business savvy as they think? Or have they been lucky by inheriting an already successful business in one of the fastest growing economies in the world? So far i am not convinced by anything they have done. Kean will be given Sheffield Wednesday and Everton before i start shouting for him out.
Fife Rover Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 My glass is half empty. My glass is drained, washed-up, dried and put away!!!
CaliRoverNYC Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Michael Bradley (MF) must be available seeing as he has fallen out of favor for his german side, might be able to get him for cheap as the window closes, and he could be good for us as a defensive mid. Not sure why he never caught on at villa as he tends to be Jermaine Jones' equal with the US team. (that said we have not been linked, just speculating that he might be able to come at a discount.)

So desperation can actually make one hope for 2 losses. Mad - but if thats the price for Kean getting sacked... Dont quite believe it though
CaliRoverNYC Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 It may be just talk but @sp_the_ghost (twitter) who claims to know a close friend of George John says he is on a plane to "Europe"
stu07 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Im not convinced and it isn't on the official site yet but these claim he's signed. They may have jumped the gun: http://www.caughtoffside.com/2011/08/22/blackburn-complete-4m-signing-of-simon-vukcevic/
Nelsta Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Yea, it's gun jumped.I posted it in the Vukcevic thread, if you read it it say's he's arrived for his medical today. It's just lazy journalism.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Kean is a big problem, but getting players in is, at the minute, a bigger one. We can change a manager whenever we like, we only have a small amount of time to get players in. I think everyone is in more or less the same boat with Kean, he isn't the man for the job, but right now we must concentrate on getting players through the door while we can.
Neal Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Never liked him when he was in charge, lost a few good players because of him. I know it's all a matter of opinion but Souness was a great manager. He got us promoted, won us a cup and our first season back in the prem we played outstanding football! When Uncle Jack died i remember him coming out to the Blackburn End fans an hour after the game, told us to stop singing his name because that day was about Jack. He said some very heart felt words about him and our club, clapped us and shook our hands... Proper footballing bloke. Yes, he sold Dunn... But bought Tugay! Yes, he left for Newcastle (thank god he did else...) but all things considered he's a Blackburn Rovers legend. I for one would take him back in a heartbeat. Back to transfers... Not that Messi could make a difference with this idiot in charge.
braddock Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Braddock, I really dont see how you can seriously defend the pratt, he is unreal, Walter Mitty style!! I am at least pleased you are admitting the guy is a puppet! A good manager will tell the woman in India, You look after your chickens and I will sort out this football club and save you millions of pounds, by the way Mrs D, I am not charging over to India every 10 minutes, I need to be sorting my team out for the next game. I said 'if'. Speaking hypothetically. I don't believe he is a puppet aside from Miles Anderson and any future marquee signings. I also think they would have been done under any other manager, under the circumstances of the time. If any manager did that to Mrs D it would appear their future wouldn't be too secure. Allardyce didn't last long. If? Yup.
