A press conference is happening at the moment, sure once it finishes the deal will be confirmed on the website. Guessing it's is breaking through all the Journos that are there briefly tweeting the news on their phones.

Its a done deal, the BBC wont publish it unless its not done. Great signing but the next one surely needs to be Cisse from Freiburg I know I keep saying it but we need someone who can stick it in the net. He wants to leave as well so Venkys prove your worth and get him then we'll have someone to profit from Vuckenic's creativity.

All the bullshit aside, Jimmy Bullard is an excellent footballer. Free, short term contract on low wages make that one a no brainer.

I would go along with that - we need bodies in and he has done it in the Premiership before. If we could get him on a short term deal till the end of the season then Id be happy with that.

jimmy bullard~! wtf! ?? :angry2:

This one is a strange one, after the injury he's had i'd be surprised if he'd ever be at the same level he was 3 years ago. If we could get him to that level then I would say sign him, he isn't worth 45,000 a week though. Get him on a pay as you play - with a 10,000 flat fee a week til end of the season. Not so risky then.

After say though, I dont see this happening - he'll go back Wigan I reckon.

What are we going to do with all our midfielders now, the balance of the squad is awful, no wonder we are leaking goals, Jimmy Bullards had his day, wonder why no one else is in for him!!

The problem is that statement describes Bullard well.

I wont repeat the alleged reasons as to why he was sacked but we don't need his type anywhere near the club.

I agree, cracking player, bit of a joker and if on a free and stays fit, can`t do any harm i guess.

What does worry me though, is we are starting to swell in the midfield department now, and there was no mention of a striker from Kean - just the defender. maybe we are goign 3-1-4-2

Robbo

John Samba Givet

Nzonzi

Vukcevic Petrovic Olsson

Goodwillie Hoilett

And this is what makes Kean a terrible manager - way to tell everyone how to defend against him.

Sky Sports

Read the bit where he says if he can isolate a full back, all they will do now is double up on him and we dont have the quality to make the numbers and space count.

He has to go i'm afraid.

Apparently we're after an Angolan according to this: Anyone heard of Da Costa?

Anybody care to speculate on the un-named striker Kean is flying out to talk with tonight? Or anybody know who it is?

Everybody gear up for negativity, then when we are linked with a player and they appear to be able to improve the squad (which isn't too hard and so is needed) or have good potential get really angry and call for Keans head, then if we don't sign them go even more mental that we didn't get him, or if he signs begin plans for a demonstration and throw our season tickets onto our pitches at the next game. It seems like the only rational thing to do.

And meanwhile we have two players out of position. If it's as simple as doubling up then we'd do it against every player. Bare in mind we are likely to have Hoilett on the other wing.

Think before you post, he knows more about football than you.

Wait wait wait, hold the phone. A winger, isolate a fullback? The heck you say?! This is major news, I didn't think wingers could do that. I can't believe Kean broke this story, that could have been our secret weapon. Now, every team will know that wingers can isolate fullbacks.

In unrelated news,I heard the internet is on computers now. Damndest thing.

I can only hope its Cisse but it probably wont be. It will probably be Da costa who i've mentioned in my last post. We dont need someone who can make an impact off the bench we need someone to make an impact from the start.

Would love jimmy Bullard. He's a fantastic character and would be great for team spirit. He's also a quality player and I saw him when he was on loan at Ipswich last year and he bossed the game and looked head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch. Get him on a pay as you play deal

I see where your coming from and agree that it could bring other players into it. I was hoping though that the initial surprise factor could have played in our favour for saturday. Like for example that african lad Ben Arfa last year before he got injured he surprised alot of teams.

I just don't see why he needed to say that but as you say there are benefits to players doubling up on him, i.e. the winger getting back to double up allows Ollson to go past him and have more room to do what he's good at.
