Bennisfromheaven Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Why the hell does Kean have to travel all over the world to negotiate transfers and contracts? I've never known it happen like this before, ever. Fair enough if you manage a top class team and have a chance of signing truly world class players you should do everything you can to sign them up. To sign the calibre of player we're in for its a joke though. Agreed, this is getting ridiculous!! Between trips to India, Canada & anywhere there may be a second rate player with 'potential, no wonder Kean has been making crazy team selections!! Hes probably too jet lagged!! In fact does he spend any time in Blackburn??

As you say if it's a worldie then you send the chairman or CEO over......doh.
duffbear Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 We need strikers ! I agree totally striker and defender a priority
unclejack28 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Marco Ruben on the bench for Villareal tonight. The plot thickens. I may be wrong but for a second it looks like the cameras went to a man who looked like kean. Maybe he flew out to watch the game. Not sure though.
Gumbi Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 If he is flying out to speak to the player then I would assume that they are either playing tonight or expected to play tomorrow night. Either that or Kean just likes planes a lot.
perthblue02 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Got nothing to do with signing anyone, the Venkster's have sent their tea boy on the duty free beer and fags run
begresko Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 The emerton story is bang on. He has been sounding out a move back for the last few weeks. He has told one of my team first hand about his desire to move. Big loss I think, we still need a squad.

He has told one of my team first hand about his desire to move. Big loss I think, we still need a squad. It was on the sports channel over here but I'm sure they said next season. Would make sense this season (not started here yet ) for Sydney to try and make a big signing after Melbourne Victory have just signed Harry Kewell. There was also talk of Emerton coming back to Australia in May this year My link
T4E Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 You know you're ###### when Brett Emerton is your big signing. I hope he goes, 2 more years and he's due a testimonial - never would someone have been less deserving.
Nelsta Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Just a thought, Venkys was to keep the fans onside desperatly without sacking Kean, Papis Cisse wants to come to the prem and is currently in France. Again it's just a thought, but would be nice for Kean to bring in Cisse.
roverandout Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 i think emerton has been a good servent for rovers, never always the best but has had his moments, i remember his debut v wolves, scored that cracking goal.

hesfromburn Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I like emerton. I thought he hit form under early ince and was our best player but hadnt looked the same since injury suppose age aswell.
PAFELL Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Now that sounds a lot better especially if we already have young Formica here. Who was the american striker everton had on loan a few seasons ago?

Big name signing considering the standard of League football over here, which is improving, The team I go to watch , their big signing last season was Robbie Fowler! also had Andy Todd at CD and Stuart Munro came as defensive coach halfway through the season.
bazza Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 You know you're ###### when Brett Emerton is your big signing. I hope he goes, 2 more years and he's due a testimonial - never would someone have been less deserving. Our Bert has been a very good servant to Rovers. Leave him alone. He's been a good player. OK, all players have a drop in form from time to time. But Bert has been a regular, loyal and important member of our squad for many seasons. If he does go, I shall wish him all the best and give him a great big "Thank You" for his services.

I hope he goes, 2 more years and he's due a testimonial - never would someone have been less deserving. That's totally unfair, he's been very loyal, willing to play wherever asked and done his best, never complained and has chipped in over the years. Bet you are more of a Benni Mcdonalds fan?
Ricky Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Just a shame berts drop in form came after his debut against wolves and lasted until now!
Mercer Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Just a shame berts drop in form came after his debut against wolves and lasted until now! I thought Souey had signed a genius after that performance. Went home that night wondering how the hell Rovers would keep hold of him !!! Funny old game that - we put 5 in but Wolves could have had almost 5 themselves as we looked wide open with Amo there.
JAL Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Just a shame berts drop in form came after his debut against wolves and lasted until now! Has everyone forgot the two absolutely vital goals Bret scored for us in the last two games of last season. Without those two goals were would Rovers be now.
Ossydave Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Bert is that kid at school who had asthma, was a bit crap but tried his heart out on the pitch/schoolyard at dinner. In short, he's just not very good. Was a wing-back when signed and could probably still do that job, does anyone even use wing-backs anymore?
