briansol Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I know zilch about visas in transfers. Whose responsibility is it to arrange the visa? The player himself? His agent? The club wanting to sign him? I´m pretty sure the person applying for it has to do it. At least it seems to be that way here in Norway.

67splitscreen Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 No exemptions, the person requiring entry, just as you or me would, can't blame the club. Postman Pat in for some stick possible.
Taggart Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Wednesday from 6 p.m to midnight is going to be a long one guys ! hope the F5 key isn`t worn out by then and the mods are ready and prepared for some heavy traffic
blueboy3333 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 If Kean persists with the current formation then we defo need a new RB, someone quick and strong. Onuaha would be perfect. According to Cryer on twitter, when someone described Salgado as scary at defending, replied that 'by all accounts Ribiero is even scarier'! A frightening thought. As for Berg, he defo played left-back against Sheff W and if memory serves Chris Waddle destroyed him!
BRFC_Pilkz Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Just watching Barca v Porto and seeing that Steven Defour is on the bench for Porto. Signed for £6m surely he would have been a good signing for us?
braddock Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Just watching Barca v Porto and seeing that Steven Defour is on the bench for Porto. Signed for £6m surely he would have been a good signing for us? Perhaps, but this isn't Football Manager. Why would he choose us over Porto. Who knows what his wages are, whether he has any interest in playing in England, or much else for that matter.
MarkBRFC71 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 No way will we ever play that shape, we'll get battered. We could rearrange that personnel though... Robinson Salgado Samba Givet Ollson Nzonzi Petrovic Hoilett Vukcevic Rochina Goodwillie Looks frightfully frail though, I wouldn't fancy taking that team away to the likes of Stoke, Wolves, West Brom etc. That's certainly our strongest team though with current personnel. Start like that tomorrow and I think we'll win. Put Roberts, Pedersen and Dunn in and we'll struggle.
RoverRich Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Why does Ibisevic need a visa to just come over for a medical? He could yet end up waiting ages for a visa, then nipping over then failing the medical! I don't know much about these things so is that just the way it works - he needs one to get into the country for anything? I thought that Vukcevic and Petrovic though went home to get their visas after they had already been over to complete their medicals, hence the long delay to complete Vukcevic's move.

Guest ljb Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 transferaddict Oli Price-Bates by thefootylad Jermaine Jenas or Niko Krancjar could be on there way to Newcastle, after Spurs look set to sign Parker. #THFC #NUFC

My understanding is that you need one, it's that question you get asked by immigration, "What is the nature of your visit" he's hear to work (Hopefully) Medical or Not, he needs the visa to enter.
dhughes07 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 You can get a visiting visa to come, but then you need a working one to work. So he would need another visa once all is agreed. Go for the Ajax lad i say.

Robinson Salgado Samba Givet Ollson Nzonzi Petrovic Hoilett Vukcevic Rochina Goodwillie Looks frightfully frail though, I wouldn't fancy taking that team away to the likes of Stoke, Wolves, West Brom etc. Looks frighteningly frail? Can I have some of what you're smoking? 6'5" Stephen N'Zonzi. Fair enough he's not a brick outhouse but frail is not the word. 6'4" Radosav Petrović. Looks pretty massive with it. We all know Samba is humongous, Givet isn't lightweight, Salgado is an animal and Olsson isn't shy of a tackle. Hoilett is admittedly tiny (*cough* coming from a 5'7" guy *cough*) but even Vukčević and Rochina aren't tiny wee frail things. Plus if you're playing a formation with two defensive centre midfield players you need the skill and creativity in front rather than some extra tough tackling guys further up the pitch. Or we can get big Jase to put himself about a bit against the Stokes if we feel necessary (and the three behind show themselves to be attacking threats). You can't half find a negative from next to nothing!
daveoftherovers Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Would you now like to list the Citeh, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea midfielders who will destroy us. Barton has never done it before, neither has Parker. One is scum and one is over-rated. Neither would have come here. Paranoia is setting in. Nail, on the head Roger, you can also add in that most of us don't want the scumbag and Parker wouldn't come to us, he'll prefer to stay in London, and we couldn't afford his wages either.

He didn`t look lightweight at all and I agree with your post Malk

Go for the Ajax lad i say. OK, I see. Thanks for clearing that up, thought it must be something like that. I think Ibi would be a good option for us as a true no.9 but the problem is his fitness, which means I too am leaning towards El H now. I reckon he can come in and hit the ground running. Plus he does have an excellent scoring record in a decent league, especially when you consider how much we would be getting him for.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Go for the Ajax lad i say. Won't he need a visa?
Kelbo Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Won't he need a visa? Off Moroccan parents but born in the netherlands so EU member, wont need a visa!
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Off Moroccan parents but born in the netherlands so EU member, wont need a visa! Thanks for clearing that up - best get him over then!
daveoftherovers Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Thanks for clearing that up - best get him over then! I'll be honest, and okay I'm greedy (But who isn't?) why aren't we having both of them? Feel sorry for the guy at Ajax, waiting on a reserve phone call, I know that's the game, but still, we can hardly have too many strikers can we? We have lost 3 since the last game of last season!
Pelio Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Please excuse me for asking what could be a stupid question, but Ibisevic only needs a visa for 1-2 days to undergo a medical. As this seems to be causing a problem, why can't BRFCS medical team etc fly to Germany and do the medical there using some facility? If he's the striker Kean really wants, is this not a viable option?? Do medicals and their reading of the results differ from country to country?? Can't think of any examples of this with other transfers but thought I'd put the question out there....

Completely agree. Both seem reasonable fees. Also, you can guarantee if we only bring one in, it'll turn out to be the wrong one. Get'em both - problem solved.
Taggart Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 reluctantnickoAlan Nixon@@mani13963 Ibi comes in eventually. Does medical. All clear, signs. In meantime ElHam may or may not go elsewhere. Complicated, I know. Does mean he arrived in the end ? It can be read in two different contexts I guess
roversfan99 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 No he is basically saying Ibisevic is 1st choice. If we can get him to prove his fitness we will sign him. Meanwhile our Plan B El Hamdaoui may go elsewhere if we leave it too long. So there is a chance Ibi will fail a medical, and by that time Lille will have El Hamdaoui.
