Since he needs to see if the situation improves it probably means some bad news regarding the Ibsevic deal (not getting a VISA). Probably not as big a deal as people fear.

However very suprised regarding the George John news. I would find it hard to believe that they couldn't agree terms. If there is not another deal lined up, I'd be very dissapointed.

The way Kean was talking it seemed that this deal might fall through hence the alternative.Splitscreen you're right, Nicko can be very cryptic at times and the story may not be that bad.

He seemed confident enough last night after the match, when he said we will sign a striker and CB before Wednesday, I have a feeling Nicko only got hold of the bad news earlier this afternoon, no hint of it at lunch time when I was talking with him.

All he said was only enough money for a striker left when I asked him about Onuoha joining Bolton if Cahill goes, and that would put a spanner in Rovers plans as we had a slim chance of loaning him.

Regarding The American defender if I recall correctly his agent did indicate a few days ago that they were coming to discuss terms and were hopeful - but aware that Rovers had an interest in other defenders as well so it wasn't a done deal.

If no one else is coming in, does that mean Venky's have put a hold on transfer's because they are going to ditch Kean...? Nicko may consider it bad news because he seems to like Kean based on his contribution to the podcast the other week, and you could argue the timing of sacking a manager 3 days before the transfer window closes is a bit rubbish.

So if he was asking for 30k a week - with no experience in Premiership and not even an international - you would just pay it ?

Nobody knows at the moment what the problem was - hopefully we have got somebody better - maybe his wage demands were too high. Who knows - but I am sure it will come out in the wash.

At the moment not too bothered - he was one with potential - rather than good enough to challenge for a first team spot yet. In three days I might not be so relaxed.
