Nicko's People piece highlights the rotten core of the modern game - mediocre players are able to hold clubs to ransom because management teams with no bollx have systematically allowed players and agents to shift the balance of power to exactly where it is most dangerous and damaging. Nobody knows at the moment what the problem was - hopefully we have got somebody better - maybe his wage demands were too high. Who knows - but I am sure it will come out in the wash.

At the moment not too bothered - he was one with potential - rather than good enough to challenge for a first team spot yet. In three days I might not be so relaxed.

The deadline is on Wednesday? Rovers still need to strengthen, we need at least one defender (maybe two if Samba goes) and one striker. It's going to be a tough job for them to get those areas sorted out and at the same time fight off any interest in key players like Samba and Hoilett.
