Commondore Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7137981,00.html now sky saying fee agreed That would be bloody amazing. I can't see it though, more likely a completely false article or the deal will fall through at some later stage.

Guest TheArtistFormallyKnownAsJB Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I have a knot in my stomach reading the article about Scott Dann. Common sense and precedent leads me to predict that someone will be sold in order to bring him in ie Olsson or Samba. Still, we will be getting a monster of a defender in return. British and premier league experienced... Shouldnt he be 20m?
Paul Mellelieu Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 We certainly need another centre half, but a striker has to be a priority. Failure to bring both in will be the death nail in any of Venky's and Kean's public statements since the end of last season.
Commondore Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Where does it leave Givet? Olsson was very good against Everton and won't be moved into midfield with the likes of Hoilett, Vuckevic and Rochina already battling for those places. Providing adequate cover for both left and central defense? Another central defender would make the defensive part of our squad much more shored up, and it might even give us the opportunity to send Hanley out on loan to give him some much needed experience. ...still, of course it won't happen though. It's either a false story or something will go wrong and the deal will fall through at a later stage.
Josh Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 That Nicko fellow reckons it's 100% B/S. As is the majority of stuff he produces, I guess we'll have to wait until Wednesday to find out
Hughesy Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Where does it leave Givet? Olsson was very good against Everton and won't be moved into midfield with the likes of Hoilett, Vuckevic and Rochina already battling for those places. Givet left back Hoilett 2nd striker Olsson on left wing, Vukcevic on the right And as with Samba> Hoilett & Olsson - il say it again - they aint going anywhere

michaelthomas Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 RE givet, I'd love us to be able to play Olsson in a wing back, attacking role at home but away use Givet as a solid full back. Having that option would be great.
Guest TheArtistFormallyKnownAsJB Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 We should surely be trying to sign young David from Liverpool... Would add some Givet N'Gog to our football....

Surely Dann does not have the required experience we can rely on , 50 prem games.

roverandout Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 i get it, shame kean doesnt know how to play that way.
steo Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Scott Dann would be an amazing signing,it says we have agreed a fee, does anyone know if this is true and what kind of price range,he is a top quality defender just need cisse or raul now and I would be happy.
glen9mullan Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 The Dann bid is very real and was made today, and the striker is also closer to home, have a little look around Goodison Park, you may just find him
modes98 Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 dan_bu dan_bu Ibisevic transfer to Blackburn apparently off. Hoffenheim sporting director Tanner: "They did not want to meet our conditions." #BRFC Mm strange how he couldn't get over for a medical after he has had serious injury problems. I think we've rightly stayed clear on that one, shame it took up our time to realise. Not at the expense of Samba...wouldn't swap him for anyone at the moment...inevitable though... Dann is only 24 and as good a footballing CB as Samba. He doesn't have the height and presence as Samba but not many do. He would be a great addition to our defence and I wouldn't be worried about him sloting in next to Nelsen or Givet. The Dann bid is very real and was made today, and the striker is also closer to home, have a little look around Goodison Park, you may just find him Thanks Glen. I now go to sleep a happy man. Although maybe not on the striker front. I imagine it is Beckford as we were linked to him very recently. I wouldn't be overjoyed at him but still an improvement on Cameron Jerome.

Trade what seemed a quality striker for a CB and spend the little left on Beckford, whilst helping Everton out of a hole, great!
keaney23 Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Ive always-ed rated Yakubu, He just needs a home. Hes far better then Jason Roberts
Backroom DE. Posted August 29, 2011 Backroom Posted August 29, 2011 Yakubu least he's got prem experience.

Stockport rover Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Niko: @glen9mullan Yak story is old. Everton tried to send him to u. Dann? Don't start me ... ... Glen: @reluctantnicko Vineeth confirmed bids !!!! Just saw you post Glen! You spoked to vineeth?

He would be a great addition to our defence and I wouldn't be worried about him sloting in next to Nelsen or Givet. It's sheer passion and determination that sets Samba apart for me. Carries the team with his effort. If Yakubu is the striker I'm not really a fan of that move.
