RibbleValleyRover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Is Yakubu really a target when it's been publicised that Venky's are not happy about paying out huge money in terms of agent fees. Yakubu and his agent have form with this sort of deal: £3m - Zahavi's fee for taking Yakubu to Boro
Hughesy Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Hughesy the agent you refer to with regards to Yakubu is it the super agent Pini Zahavi? According to some yes Out of one bed, into another?
patrickvalery Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 According to some yes Out of one bed, into another? Although he did broker the sale of Chelsea to Roman. Maybe he's been recruited to flog us on? In the mean time suggested a cheap, chubby and fat headed resolution to our striker crisis?
steo Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Yakubu is unbelievably lazy and would be a woeful signing like Andrews he found his level last season,he has to be atleast in his mid thirties, would rather fuller from stoke if looking for a similar player to our goal machine roberts.
Darwen Rover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Our club is well and truely up the creak in so many ways.. Results, manager, owners, transfers... What the bleeding hell is going on??!
Elegia Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 £5 million for Dann? Here as well will come to nothing, just trying to build our hopes up before nothing happens again
Robbo Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Our club is well and truely up the creak in so many ways.. Results, manager, owners, transfers... What the bleeding hell is going on??! Darwen Rover, i agree with you. Two days to go until the window slams shut and we will, without a doubt, still be short of the quantity and quality of players to make Rovers a competitive and successful side. Rovers have had all summer to tackle the obvious issues of a replacement for the talented Phil Jones, a replacement for the very effective Jermaine Jones (Petrovic-jury is still out) and the biggest issue of all….someone who can put the bloody ball in the back of the net on a regular basis. How we can still be scratching around at the 11th hour is quite unbelievable and will limit our chances of staying in the Premier League. To be in this position with two days to go is nothing short of the total mismanagement of a football club, manager included.

Iceman Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Would prefer Bendtner over Yakubu. Scott Dann would be brilliant, and if Samba stays then happy days. I would actually play Givet at right back, i know not right, but he is a solid defender
John Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Dann would be good if true, would explain pulling of the John deal. Yak looked good 3-4 years ago, not sure what he's like these days.
Ricky Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 One thing I would say for yak over his career is that he's been an impact signing. Seems to score a good number of goals when he first signs for someone and then slowly goes off the boil. far better than Roberts so in terns of improving the team it's a positive. Interesting that Nicko has rubbished both of them. Then again he had us spending £50m and confirmed the signing of Riaz which never happened and also the wrong ribeiro.
watford-rover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 So yesterday went from kean being put on gardening leave and all his transfers being scrapped, to instead were now signing an overweight over the hill striker, and may end up with a points deduction! Makes you wonder what the rest of the week will hold for us
True Blue & White Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Let's just hope Dann has indicated he's happy to join us and that's why the John deal has been dropped, I'll be miffed if it falls through because he rejects us. Forget Yukubu, get your wallets out and get Cisse!
stu07 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Kean calls the shots?! To be honest aslong as we sign a goalscorer, a defender and maybe JJ on loan - then im not too worried for now. We can look at that after the deadline day has passed. I was thinking the same. If we can get Dann, Yakubu, JJ on loan or Hargreaves. Then another striker on loan. This could be exactly what we need. Which would be a good transfer window. I do think we are woefully short at Rb though. One thing I would say for yak over his career is that he's been an impact signing. My worry with this is he has big wages. Thats why Moyes is willing to get rid of him, cause he's at the high end of their wage structure. If he takes a wage cut and we can get another striker like El Hamadoui then this would be brilliant. Roberts is rubbish i'm afraid.

We can look at that after the deadline day has passed. Dang mate the 'Goalscorer' we are after is Yakuba ffs.. Like the idea of Dann but would of prefered Onuhaha and to me JJ is pretty much a must if we aim to survive this season. Really hoping the main transfers have been dropped because Kean is on his way out.. but doubt it no doubt the chicken farmers will realise its time at chrismas when it's simply to late to do anything about catching up 20 odd points. I just fear for what will happen when we get relegated, we will no longer be a viable marketing tool and who would want to buy a championship club.
Mattyblue Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Not too worried hughesy? With being bottom of the table, a weak squad, Steve Kean as manager and now the media sniffing around the club's 'Advisors'. I'll have what your smoking!
titch Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Relegation would be a disaster but Leicester found a buyer and they seem to have spent acit aswell. Justifying finding a buyer whilst.in the chumpionship isn't impossible. *** just saying not justifying(stupid fat fingered predictive text)
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Quite frankly Scott Dann plus any form of striker is probably as good as we can expect right now. I reckon we'll struggle to bring in anyone before tomorrow but if we can grab someone decent on loan then that might get us somewhere.
Nelsta Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 As I said, start of the week we are leaked positive news, fees agreed, talking to players. Then weekend comes we get beat and the so called imminent transfers dissapear and the whole cycle starts again. Also, someone tweeted that danns agents are still offering him to other clubs because maybe his agent dosnt want him to come to ewood. And apprently QPR have had a bid accepted.
imy9 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Is it just me but do we need to spend 5 million on Dann? We have 3 good centre halfs at the moment someone like George would have been fine IMO, the dire need is for a good striker would it not be better to invest most of your budget on that?
stu07 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I see Maynard could be on his way to Leicester. I think he would do us a job. Scored goals wherever he's been, ok not at premiership level however his scoring rate is impressive: Crewe 39 in 52. Bristol City 40 in 101. He's from Cheshire, so wouldn't be too far from his parents house in Winsford or could even commute if he didn't want to pay rent. Main thing is, he isn't like any of the other strikers. Think against Fulham we have to start Rochina ahead of Roberts.

Dann is a recognised and experienced PL defender, and imo better than Roger Johnson. Givet is a left back, but does a good job as a centre half. Nelsen is out injured, and we cannot rely on a young Hanley to bail us out. We need both a defender and a Striker
Taggart Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Quite frankly Scott Dann plus any form of striker is probably as good as we can expect right now. I reckon we'll struggle to bring in anyone before tomorrow but if we can grab someone decent on loan then that might get us somewhere. Errrr - are you off your rocker ? (not a pop at you BTW ) We need a striker way more than we need a defender - we at leats have some form of cover in defense, with at least a half decent CB on the bench in Hanley. Upfront, we have little to no cover - we have JR who isn`t worth ###### at the moment in term sof a contribution to goals, and Goodwillie, if one fo those gets injured, who do we have, Blackman, yeah brilliant dilema. Priority has to be money spent on a striker who can score and a loan of a CB - not the other way around. FFS Venkys sort it out before you destroy our premiership status - this isn`t a mickey mouse toy your F8ckign around with here, is the life and blood of many a supporter with a deep vein of history about to be made worthless by the pitiful excuses of transfers ands squandered money that you have actually been good at. 2 days left to make amends, or please do us a favour and F off and take that bald ginger tosser of a manager with you
