47er Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Yakubu... Honestly, you couldn't make it up could you? We desperately need a striker so where do we go?----to the club with exactly the same problem as we have! In fact, despite Saturday, I'd argue theirs are worse than ours'. All these months and we end up at Goodison with a day to go! I thought we were scouring the world for strikers? If true what a bloody disgrace.

JAL Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 You can shove your Beckford's or Yakubu's right up there were the sun doesnt shine.
PAFELL Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Nicko saying Dann is loan with view to buy later, Yak is crap and a much bigger deal going on...,, Knowing Rovers we'll end up with Michael Owen
rovers-baz Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 according to sky sports news....on michael owens twitter a move to rovers a poss along with others that are interested....
A cup of beans Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I just hope and pray you are not referring to Jermaine Beckford. That useless lump is worse than we already have. beckford would be a dream signing compared to who we are after scary stuff going on at everton. no wonder there's confusion.. every forward they have has been offered to rovers. on michael owen, .. id take him over all the everton lot.. but think he might end up at everton himself. is he that interested in fball anymore ?
michaelthomas Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Pretty sure he means we'll be active before tomorrow.
Oklahoma Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 £7 million for Samba? NO WAY!!!! £15 million at least!!!
AJW Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 according to sky sports news....on michael owens twitter a move to rovers a poss along with others that are interested.... is that a genuine twitter account ?
john-rover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Owen just says we'll prob buy someone not hat he will move
Billy Castell Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Do go on Zac. Are they actually skint like they keep saying every season and are having a fire sale? Also, is this 'big deal' Thomas Brolin or Alan Brazil?
Waggy76 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 beckford would be a dream signing compared to who we are after scary stuff going on at everton. no wonder there's confusion.. every forward they have has been offered to rovers. on michael owen, .. id take him over all the everton lot.. but think he might end up at everton himself. is he that interested in fball anymore ? Is it more scary at Everton , than it is here ? If that is so , GOD HELP EM !
rovers-baz Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 is that a genuine twitter account ? yes it was they showed it up on the screen, we are interested in him along with other clubs....was on sky sports news
Nelsta Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I'm just looking at the michael owen twitter (supposed geniune one)His last tweet was 3 hours ago and mentions nothing of Rovers.
sharpysharps Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 This is what Owen's tweet says: themichaelowen michael owen I think Arsenal, and Spurs are definite buyers. QPR, Villa, Blackburn, Newcastle and Stoke could be active too. I think he is just referring to who he thinks will be most active between now and tomorrow night, I don't think he's suggesting that these teams are in for him.
john-rover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 £7 million for Samba? NO WAY!!!! £15 million at least!!! No quotes or sources, so hopefully just a journo chatting crap.. 7m is an absolute joke
HemelRover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 beckford would be a dream signing compared to who we are after Go on the Zac, spill the beans.....who is it that we are after thats worse than Beckford?

YEP just read it myself and looks like sky sports news have got hold of the wrong end of the stick....maybe whoever informed them works at the lancs telegraph
Neal Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I have to say, I was dissapointed with Kevin Gallaghers comments regarding Rovers fans being spoiled BUT having read some of the posts on here I have to agree with him. Anyone we can convince to come and play centre forward at our shambles of a club would make us better off. Let's bloody get a grip of reality!
AJW Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 the time for any club to sign Owen has surely passed , he was out of contract earlier in the summer but signed a new deal a few weeks ago , Owen knew he was only going to be a bit part player and still signed it , for me that shows he knows himself he's not up to it anymore , having said that a partial Michael Owen is streets ahead of Roberts and Yakubu
niggit Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I have been watching SSN, and it was never mentioned about Owen and Rovers. They simply said who he expects to be signing players. Think it is people watching it, that has got the wrong end of the stick, not SSN.

I'd rather go without than pay a fee and/or wages on a really bad player. You say spoiled, I say have ambitions about staying in this division and doing well in it.
JAL Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Can we rename this thread the 'We dont know what we are doing thread'.
mark1875 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Have to agree with niggit. no mention of us being interested
Garethtj Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 £7 million for Samba? NO WAY!!!! £15 million at least!!! Worse still the article says that we've lined-up Titus Bramble as a replacement! But even he's not interested in joining us.
