Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 LMAO The Pythons couldn't write this script.
hawkiiz Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Great. I would rather we buy Dann as replacement for Samba, and play Samba as striker than get Toni. He is no good anymore.
JW11 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Turns out Venkys do read this board. Sadly for us they misinterpret immensely...
T.J.Newton Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 i think the hack nico is just taking the ######, proving again how unprofessional he is, he really needs to loose that chip from his shoulder in regards to blackburn.
chaddyrovers Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 luca effin toni? what the hell? a 34 year old hasbeen, i feel sick agree. would be massively disspointing if we sign a has been.
yankrover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Turns out Venkys do read this board. Sadly for us they misinterpret immensely... And we've gone from tragedy to farce. Luca Toni. Wow.
Backroom Tom Posted August 30, 2011 Backroom Posted August 30, 2011 In terms of fulfilling the prophecy it's great, in terms of what we need, not so much
john-rover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Tbf I think Toni is a good option for a year, much better then what we have which I know seamy speak volumes.... Bring Dann in as well and we look quite strong.... Shane the manager is incompetent
tombarton Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 has to be a wind up? Any info glen9mullen or kamy?
perthblue02 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 look on the plus side it says the Kean is in talks with him, good chance it might go t*** up if he starts blabbering off into fantasyland, the worrying thing "Rovers are working closely with agent Pini Zahavi" Frying pan fire?
hawkiiz Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 If we sign Toni, we will actually have managed to trade Kalinic with someone even worse. Well done.
steo Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Please tell me this is a ###### take, luca toni i'd rather play with Roberts upfront for 90 mins every game than give that waster a minute on the pitch, after all the hype it's just another depressing day, what is the story with Scott Dann?
glen9mullan Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Don't get to disappointed, this is the same Niko who last night claimed we had not moved for Dann or Yakubu, Now he has linked them into his story There is far more options than that on the table and dependant on chains of events tomorrow, it will ultimately decide which striker arrives at Ewood.

B.R.F.C Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Toni is a decent option in my opinion. Past his best but he will do a good job for us I reckon...alot better than Yakubu or Jason Roberts for example.
briansol Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Seriously people? You don't want Luca Toni as an option in attack? Take a look at the table, realise that is the last day of the transfer window and say yes please.
roverandout Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 this has been the worst transfer window i can remember, even worse than under the trust, at least we didnt have any expectations under them, only to be badly let down, i mean a loan deal as well? how will that benefit us long term? i give up with these numptys (including kean) JUST GO NOW!!!
joey_big_nose Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Ha! Had to happen eventually! Well I haven't watched him in years. No idea if he is anygood anymore. Used to be briliant. Essentially we just need whoever to comes in to be able to compete in the air, hold up the ball, lay off and finish. The leg work will be done by our (hundreds) of attacking midfielders/second strikers. Can Toni or the Yak still do it? Not sure. So a bit underwhelmed to be honest. Transfer wise people have, in my opinion, been a little harsh on Kean/Venkys. Goodwillie, Petrovic, Formica, Rochina all look like good signings. I am certain Vukcevic will be a quality addition. Dann will be a good signing if we get him. Jones was a great signing last season. On balance it does look a lot better than the last couple of years under the Trust. That said we deseprately need a quality striker, an experienced defensive midfielder (J Jones on loan please!) and a centreback/rightback (Dann would be quality!).
Kamy100 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Luca Toni has been offered but this is a deal that is far from being done. There are 2 other strikers that are being chased, not 100% sure of the names. Toni is something that has been proposed to Rovers but he is not the priority. All I have been told is that Rovers expect to be busy tomorrow, time for the talking to stop and for Venky's to deliver.
Torgeir Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Luca Toni is a legend! If offered service he will still score, he just needs a run of games to get going. Some fans need to lighten up a little. It's Luca Toni ffs!
