Billy Castell Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Venkys do need to bring in real, proper quality players in to regain any trust and friendliness amongst fans. A good manager would be nice too.

roverandout Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 its hard keeping the faith with these clowns in charge, glen, kamy, can you not give us some crumb of comfort with any clues to a name before i find a rope with a noose in it?
donnermeat Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 To be fair I would rather use the rest of our 'budget' on a compensation package for Kean and whatever fee Sparky wants (if it's not enough tell the bank to extend our overdraft again lol).
Roverdale Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Tomorrow is going to be a horrible day unless something good happens early. Never dreaded/looked forward to a deadline so much. Toni hahahahahahaha!!! If I hadn't already got GOODWILLIE on the back for bants I would definitely be going for that. Anelka/Chamakh whilst unlikely would be top top signings. Samba playing for us next game is going to feel as good as a top signing.
RoverRich Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Only read the last couple of pages to find out about Luca Toni so apologies if I have missed it but what is now happening with El Hamdaoui? Is he still an option or is he off the table like most of the other sensible suggestions this summer? Luca Toni I would take because he is better than what we have but is not a long term option and will be somewhat underwhelming after being linked with El Hamdaoui and Ibisevic. Makey, what do you know? Give us some good news please!!
BigUts Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I just hope it finally all slots together. I really am one of these people that backs people for as long as I feel I can justify it. But tomorrow will be the decider for me; No signings or ###### ones to paper the cracks, and I'll pin my flag to the mast. Good uns (as perceived by me of course ), and I'll start to come back around!
roverandout Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 el bingy bangy wont be coming as rovers have decided they want to go down a different route, toni wont be long term anyway as he will only be coming on loan...to sit on the bench.
garnersfags Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Ah Luca, if I'm not mistaken he lives on the 2nd floor...upstairs from you?? Yes I think I've seen him before. "...If you hear something late at night Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight...... Just don't ask me what it was........ You just don't argue anymore....." All a bit vega that, LD. Sounds like a review of our midnight messageboard activity. A quality post, made me laugh a lot, cheers.
Baz Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 keep faith guys Well theres no more stories to protect, as they'll be obsolete by tomorrow night. So if you know anything, why not just tell us?
Oklahoma Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 The only good thing about signing Luca Toni is that it will be on loan, so not much money spent on that. So, it is possible there is some money for another striker, a first team player...
Backroom Tom Posted August 30, 2011 Backroom Posted August 30, 2011 I like deadline day but hope it's not another one where we are definitely going to sign a striker but then we never do. Whatever came of Dindane anyway? Lansbury, Danns and a half decent Striker would make for an excellent nay sensational day for us.
tombarton Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Linked to a loan for Bentley by Agent_ITK on twitter
Torgeir Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 24 hours and we can pass judgement. We're leaving it awfully late but that's what everyone does, one transfer kickstarts another and so on. Time to get rid of the transfer windows, surely if someone brought it before the EU council or whatever it would get removed. Anyway, let's not be all doom and gloom before our nightmares have been confirmed in 24 hours time. If we end up signing a couple of goodies tomorrow then it will all look a lot brighter.
Smithyster Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 it's half amazing and equally half incredibly annoying beying told to keep the faith, and that there will be signings, but not knowing who and what calibre they are (But I get the reasons for not exposing deals). Keep telling myself we will sign nobody, and then anybody who does sign will be a bonus!
JAL Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Its finally come to this day.... Kean, Venky's, Kentaro, and SEM's, judgement day in Blackburn. Blackburn awaits to see if they can fulfill their promises!
B.R.F.C Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Ha you are having a laugh,he is brutal worse than anyone we have and beyond lazy At present we have Blackman, Roberts and Goodwillie as our striking options and you seriously think Toni is worse than all those? If we signed Dann and Toni I'd be mildly satisfied given the various things I've read about our owners of late. In reality if Venkys were to fulfill their promises they all made to us we will sign 3 or 4 players quality players tomorrow but does anyone here seriously believe we will? It's time for Venkys to step up to the plate and seeing will very much be believing come 11pm tomorrow night IMO.
Nelsta Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Agent ITK on twitter claiming Bolton are going for Scott Dann as a replacment for Cahill.
JAL Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 It has been said many weeks ago that Rovers had to sell before they could buy. So we shall now see how true this was and by how much will they spend if they dont sell anyone.
roverandout Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 i expect to see samba being paraded in an arsenal shirt tommorow.
JAL Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 i expect to see samba being paraded in an arsenal shirt tommorow. If so, then thats one reason why Kean will be off to India on thursday to pick up his precentage fee
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Venky's need to deliver big time tomorrow in my view. I expect at least 3 or 4 signings. We need 2 strikers, 1 defender(Dann) and either midfielder or full back. come on venky's put your money where your mouths are and prove to the fans that you are willing to spend money! Agree totally Chaddy We need 4 minimum signings (players we have heard of!) 2 cash or free, 2 loans. You wouldn't bet against players leaving tomorrow either, wonder if there will be any shocks on that front? 23 hours and counting Venkys...
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Anyone else expecting M B Diouf back on loan at 22:55pm?
duffbear Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Agent_ITKAgent_ITK by Hughesy84 Bentley is set to join #Blackburn on loan until the end of the season. #brfc #thfc #spurs
jehrover Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 The next 24 hours will for me define the Venky's regime at Blackburn Rovers. It really is that serious now. It is clear for all to see that the current squad we have neither has the strength nor the depth to achieve anything other than a long hard relegation dogfight, which, combined with Kean's amateurish attempt at management will see us heading down by Christmas. The only way this will be avoided is by bringing in 2/3 quality players in the next 24 hours. Loan signings alone will not cut it with me, nor will cheap foreign imports with no experience of the top European leagues. Scottish youngsters are not what we need nor want at this stage. We have been promised investment by both the owners and the manager. If serious money is not spent tomorrow then it will take some wriggling out of as Kean jets out to India. Look at some of the players being tipped to move. Clubs with no more going for them than us are making signings left, right and centre and going for Premier League quality - take Bolton for example - Tuncay, Reo-Coker, Eagles. What do we get? Anderson, Ribeiro, Goodwillie and Petrovic? Disgraceful. Yet of more importance for the Venky's regime, more so than any potential player arrivals, is the future of the manager. Sooner or later they are going to have to accept that they have made a mistake and that Kean is not up to the job. Whether this happens in the next few days or next year with us in the Championship bottom three remains to be seen. Best case scenario tomorrow - Samba stays and we sign a couple of proven quality players - Dann being one of them. Worst case scenario - Samba goes and nobody comes in Likely scenario - Samba goes and we bring in a couple on loan/spend a couple of million on more unheard of players. Though with the time it takes us to have medicals and complete the paperwork they won't be eligible until January.
