"A source close to Birmingham City says the club is yet to receive bids for Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome despite reported interest from Blackburn and Stoke respectively, but there are indications they may come during the day. And although Liam Ridgewell had a transfer request rejected on Tuesday, there might also be developments on that front. Celtic are one of the clubs linked with Ridgewell."

Robbo (Bunn)

Salgado Dann Samba Givet (Olsson)

Not a bad back four once its confirmed - I think Samba and Dann would be an ace partnership in the centre.

For me we need a back up or first choice right back, coupled with 2 strikers who are of a good standard and NOT Luca Toni FFS ! if we have anything left in the locker, then a JJ replacement - smaller, mobile defensive midfield enforcer and that would give us a nice balance throguh the team with strenght to bring people off the bench barring injuries.

If we can shift Givet to LB and move Olsson into midfield it'd be like a new signing. He's wasted at full back.

Not wanting to wee on anyone’s parade, and I have no insider knowledge at all, but surely we won't be spending 5m on Dann? It just doesn’t fit the ‘business model ‘adopted so far does it?

Could be wrong, and a loan wouldn’t be a bad move if we could pull it off.

should be all over this:

News: Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is desperate to leave the club with the Russia international claiming Sunderland are interested in his signature.

He would be the star in our team.

Agree with you, at a club like ours were he'd be given first team football he'd shine.

Hopefully Dann gets done soon, then a striker. At the moment it looks like we will be bringing in at least three players (including Dann) that could rise to 4 if we decide to utilise both our loans.

JJ is moving to someone today, hopefully it is us.

I hope I'm ok posting this in this thread. Would you happily sell Nzonzi for 9 or 10million and bring JJ back for say £5million? I personally would and I also feel that Nzonzi will get some very strong interest today. He had a great first season but he seems to me to be a poor man's Fellaini and I feel that Petrovic could potentially do his role better. IMO we need someone like Jermaine to sit in front of our iffy defence (just minus the rash challenges on the edge of the box) and the longer he was at the club, the better he became.

SkySports News are saying we've agree a fee for Dann and that should be completed later today.

I also think we'll get Bentley, Onouha on loan. And then that just leaves a striker....Not a clue on that one.

I'd prefer us to sign Bentley permanently rather than get him on loan. He'll play well and his value will soar.

We won't then be able to afford him and other clubs will be in for him at the end of the season.

Couldn't agree more philipl. We've all known what was needed since the final whistle blew at Molineux in May. Yet here we are, on the last day of the window, scrambling around like, if you'll forgive the pun, "headless chickens". So much for careful planning on behalf of the owners and the manager. Let's just hope that whoever we manage to grab is able to hit the ground running at Fulham on Saturday week.

Monday game?
