should be all over this:

News: Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is desperate to leave the club with the Russia international claiming Sunderland are interested in his signature.

He would be the star in our team.

Yes.

But if our striker budget is around £6m as earlier speculated then unfortunately that won't be enough for Pavlyu. I think we should be trying for Bellamy as well, him and Luca Toni would be a great partnership up front for us ;)

I hope I'm ok posting this in this thread. Would you happily sell Nzonzi for 9 or 10million and bring JJ back for say £5million? I personally would and I also feel that Nzonzi will get some very strong interest today. He had a great first season but he seems to me to be a poor man's Fellaini and I feel that Petrovic could potentially do his role better. IMO we need someone like Jermaine to sit in front of our iffy defence (just minus the rash challenges on the edge of the box) and the longer he was at the club, the better he became.

In my opinion, having watched Petrovic, he will really have to 'up' his game if he is to even play Prem Football, let alone replace N'Zonzi, Petrovic looks really slow and I feel he will get caught in possession unless he can add some more pace to his game and sharpen his passing.

As for midfielders, Jason Lowe isnt far away and pings a very quick pass, just the thing to open sides up!!

I really hope to hell that someone at Rovers has had teh foresight to create a "War Room" at Ewood park today, where they can lock Steve Kean, Vinny, Barry White and whoever else in it.

That way they can communicate with one anotehr in the same room and get deals done rather than spend time on the phone to each other and missed calls/engaged calls etc which will waste tme on such an important day. I also hope they have the Cobra beer on tap, the buffett ordered for midday, and then the local Indian Take Away numbers on speed dial for this evening !

Last chance to prove to the fans that your goodwill and best intentions are honourable Venkys - get it right and don`t blow it !

I guess there have been no up dates because the site is down, following Kammy and co on twitter, they think up to five signings today, not that I'm excited as expecting the worse but fingers crossed.

I've heard on Sky Sports news, Dann is there today but they haven't seen anyone else. Kean says he wants to bring new faces in but he has some work to do.

He mentioned Yakubu, Toni and Beckford. Which are all names we know, so they seem to be clutching at straws like us.

Looks like I'll not be seeing either of you two there then, because the match is actually on Sunday at 16.00 hours...

Thanks mum. I'm afraid the general doom and gloom of the past few days has finally got to me. Still, if we sign Scott Dann and a decent centre-forward my optimism will return. If we find a new manager at the same time it will positively soar!

SSN are reporting that Scott Dann willing to join Blackburn Rovers on the condition Christopher Samba was NOT sold.

WIN WIN FOR ROVERS!!!! COYB!!!!!!!

Don't get too excited just yet.

It'll count for absolutely nothing if we don't sign a striker and a central midfielder too. Birmingham showed last season that it doesn't matter how good your defence is if you have a crap midfield and strikeforce. Put Scott Dann in the team against Everton and we still lose, defence wasn't the problem.

It will be a cracking signing if we can get another two players though, Dann is top quality. I can't help but feel Onuoha would be a better singing though since he's a good right back as well. Samba and Dann will be less effective if they're constantly trying to mop up after Salgado.
