JONES...Kean has reiterated his desire for him at rovers and visa versa however will not happen at £10m. #Rovers have said £5m max or loan

even the way he types it sounds like Nicko haha

And why would Nicko want to put any information he has on Twitter? Thereby letting the whole world know about it before he has got it to his paper and he knows he will get paid for it? Think about it!!!

Feel bad for those of you across the pond who have to stay up and wait for the news. Lucky I get to refresh this page from my office every few minutes and not loose sleep!

double edged sword. we have to wake up at some ungodly hour to watch most of the games.

Over 200 people reading ,hopeful ,expecting a quality signing.

Surely are hopes are not going to be let down again.

Venkys the time for action is now,we are at the 11th hour, the correct signings made now will make the world of difference in Rovers fans eyes

and drag you away from the precipice, and irreparble damage between the fans and Venkys.

I note that Gavin Gunning, so impressive in the Lancashire Senior Cup win, started a trial with Scunthorpe United today. He is likely to make his debut in a friendly against Rotherham United tomorrow. No indication as to if the move will be permanent or a loan but I suspect the former if the Rovers are looking to bring in another defender to replace Phil Jones.

I said at the start of the window that I'd rather we signed up to half a dozen lower priced players than blow the cash on a potential disaster. The likes of Vucinic and Defoe are nice to drool over but if we can get Mongongu, the Serbian lad and Raul for £7.5m total (£2.5m each if info in here is accurate) then I'll be pretty happy. It'd be nice if we had a younger striker as an option since Raul and Roberts is not only one of the most bizarre potential strike partnerships in Premier League history, but also one of the oldest.

Probably running before we walk here, but the news is starting to look good again and I'm enjoying the moment.

I'm not disagreeing with you or anything. You made a point that we should go for Petrovic because he is cheaper and younger. I was just pointing out that being younger shouldn't always be a reason to go for them.

And i agree with you on your point that we should n't always be looking for younger players than the more experienced ones, i.e jones,i was just saying that jones does n't seem as likely since we were already in talks with a player (petrovic), who was cheaper and younger which is the original transfer policy of buying young and selling for profit.Raul maybe the exception if he does come as everyone knows he would raise the profile of the club.

Yeah that would fit in with the original transfer policy and Raul would be a massive PR stunt for the club. A good blend of quality youth and experienced "A LIST" players seems just the ticket to me. I'm glad Barry White and Venky Jnr are back on board with Mrs D!

Seen as the story is in the mirror I can say that the player is Petrovic. Have been told that Rovers have had a bid in the region of £2.5 plus extras accepted. The player is due to arrive at Brockhall for a medical tomorrow and to discuss personal terms. So signing is very close. He looks like a decent player who seems suited to the Premier League.

We have also been told that Rovera have 3 other formal bids in for players, no idea at this moment who these players are, Rovers hopeful that these bids will be accepted over the next 48 hours or so.

Things seem to be moving finally.

Excellent news, this time 3 days ago we were listening to your podcast and things seemed bleaked to say the least and no signing immanent. Potentially the next podcast we listen to we could have signed 3-4 players! This is why I love football, Anything can happen!

Rovers Insider is off on one tonight he's tweeting mad! Apparently the banks are back on board and money is now available, the two brothers now seem to be back interested and the roller-coaster ride of transfer links is about to start again. According to Rovers insider, Hoilett will sign a new contract and the signing of Raul is imminent (personally funded by one of the brothers).

Anything can happen with Venky's incharge!

Please don't get carried away, Petrovic is promising but until he signs anything can happen. Also for all we know the three bids could get rejected or could be for 'budget' players which will not excite fans. Let's just wait and see what happens over the next few days, but the positive is that at least things are now moving with regards to signing players.
