I hope you are right. I would hate us to loan him and then have someone else pick him up in the summer.

We should have a much more solid base to build on with Dann, Samba, Nelly, Givet, Sally and Olsson. Good core of players and the Dann Samba partnership could be amazing.

Edit: Would they loan Honda out? What value would that bring them, unless we gave them a large fee, but then why not buy him?

George John per chance.. would not be suprised if he turned up at the last minute. Have a feeling the comments from Dallas about did not want to take it up at this time refered to him agreeing terms etc and sorting his passport lol

My guess…..

Bentley on loan, J Jones on loan

Danns on perm, El Hamoudi on perm, Lansbury on perm

That would be a fantastic haul.

Don't see the point in Bentley though with the players we already have (Simon yet to play, Hoilett/Formica/Rochina/Pedersen/Dunn all floating around). I would rather sign Yakubu or Toni to be honest as they would give us more options up front which we desperately need.

Nicko seems to think he had an ankle injury vis a vis he failed his medical. Don't know how accurate this is obviously.

Nicko said yesterday on twitter that George John failed a medical and needs an ankle operation...not sure how accurate that is but it makes more sense than him demanding massive money to me

Ahh, didn't see any news about that and missed the Nicko comment.. just figured there may be more to it based on Johns own comments after training with Dallas the day after he got back (so ankle injury would seem odd to me).. “I had the opportunity to meet the coach [steve Kean] with [former D.C. United defender] Ryan Nelsen, the captain, and it was a good time,” John added. “But like I said earlier, just the timing wasn’t right and I’m looking forward to being with FC Dallas right now.”

George Boyd on the way to a Premiership club, spoke to a Peterbrough fan on sunday who said he is amazing, better than Mckail Smith. Wouldn't mind him as well then to be honest - 2.5 million is the bid.

Dann is a top top player if we get him. We could well have arguably the best centre half pairing outside the top 6 if Dann gets pulled off. dad's a birmingham fan and the majority of my mates are blues nose's and they all agree the partnership of Johnson and Dann was thier best in a good 20-25 years, they went on to say that When Dann got injured, Johnson got found out a little more and out of the two Dann is much better.

Yakubu not a bad option, he can scored goals at this level, he has proven that. Niggling injurys have disrupted him in the last year or so. Loan deals will be a 9:00+ job.
