I mentioned Podolski to my mate last night and then we both laughed it off. Would rudy bloody love that to come off.

wouldn`t it just - would be amazing, defo suited to the premiership !

Bring in Honda as well and i will literally, as well as others I`m sure, do a naked run of honour against Wolves and jiggle my arse cheeks with "Mrs D" written on them

42 goals in 89 games for Germany.

26 years old.

Domestically really he has struggled in the last three years only last season getting his 50th Bundesliga goal.

On the whole I'd hope £10 million would be enough which is more then he was sold for in 2008 and 2006.

Guest Rovers4Good

Podolski is a bloody hell of a player.

The question is would he come to Rovers.

I Honestly can't see it.

Come on as if he would sign for us. He is a top player and a top international for a bloody good country and there is no chance on earth that he would sign for us at this moment in time. :(

Oh im staying baby!! I wanna be the guy in 6 years telling newbies to respect me and fetch me my supper! :angry2:

Anyway back to topic, anyone know the suggested fee for Podolski??

Hahaha, quality fella! The guys who are pulling rank are probably down by the riverbank, with their banjos looking for Burt Reynolds and John Voight. "Scream like a pig boy!"

The guy has been played as a winger as well as a front man though.

For me he's a machine. Scored some amazing goals in his time.

I can't see it happening but if it did we would have some good times to come.

Key thing is, he will want to play internationally, if his new Coach has issues with him - he is not going to get a lot of first team football and ultimately probably won't get picked for Germany. Moving on from Cologne is probably his only option, the question is how many teams will want him, what are his wages like, what sort of transfer fee will have to be paid. A lot of suitors could be put off just by the cost, I doubt any of the big boys will want someone like him even if they can afford him, big name or not, he doesn't score enough at club level.

He slots right into that grey area in my opinion.

There is small chance that he would come here. He hasn't done enough domestically for other German teams to stump up the cash and it seems others from around europe think the same. If we could better his wages then that would be enough for him to consider it at least. Such a signing would do the owners popularity no harm at all.

Ok since you all have guessed it Mystery Striker Number 1 is indeed Lukas Podolski.

I am told that there is some serious interset in this Podolski from Rovers, not at the stage where a bid has been made, but that could change at anytime.

Venky's PR has told me there is no interest in Raul, but some very reliable sources say different. It could just be that the RE Raul Venky's PR is out of the loop.

I think once Kalanic's transfer is confirmed they will move on the striker front.

There's a cute Polish lad over here that will try and pull a few strings to get my Polak brethren Podolski through the door. We could do with a few extra Poles in East Lancs...

Thats one of the strangest posts I have read in some time - am I missing something?
