To be honest, with that line up, the goal scoring burden would definitely be shared. I'd argue that having someone to lead the line and bring others into play would be more important than a natural goal scorer (i.e. a Raul type).

Before anyone suggests Roberts is the answer to a 'lead the line' type - he's not! He's a battering ram but doesn't have the link-play qualities we would require.

Edit: You know what...Santa Cruz would probably excel in that team, he's got all those qualities...

are you keeping Olsson at Left Back LeC, and moving Givet to Centre Back? or you thinking of dropping Givet, and either bringing Nelsen alongside Samba, or Mongongu IF he signs?

Podolski would be class. Be interesting to see if he would become a prolific goalscorer, he has always been a good worker and sets up plenty.

One thing is clear to me, he’s been the most consistent in terms of getting information correct, to such an extent that his information has been used and claimed by others more recently, which is a little sad.

Podolski has been rubbish since the World cup.....so those saying he deserves a top European club are talking rubbish....he failed at Bayern......a club like Rovers could get him back on track! Awesome left foot, sounds like he needs to be told how good he is to get the best out of him!

Seems some people see the name and just assume he must of had an amazing career. Without a doubt he is a good international but at club level he is no where near that of Mario Gómez. They are both the same age too.

Not sure about the centre backs after Samba, but Olsson at left back for sure.

Ill believe names like Poldi or Raul "when" they're signed. We've been linked with about 50-100 players this window with some of them "verified" by people with close links to the club like Kamy/nicko, etc...None came off, which tells me the club doesnt know where its going. Yet.

Podolski - great. Deadly left foot, decent pace, good player overall. Just been stripped of captaincy at Cologne, he lost it to our former youth player Kevin Pezzoni IIRC... always liked L.P., and Petrovic looks solid - this is starting to pick up.
