I think iN RR and MF we already have a good replacement for MB Diouf and Kalinic. What we need is a target striker who will fight with ROberts for the place on top.

Petrovic will hopefully be a replacement for JJ.

If we plan to play 4-2-3-1

we have an attacking options such as: Gato, Rochina, Hoilett, Olsson, Dunn, Peds which would give us an satisfying depth.

To actually mark that as -1, when I was actually just asking a question ... I can only say that someone on here is a little bitch.

I gave you a +1 Bryan. Lots of bitches round here these days ;-)

More doom from one of the guys who brought us the story about a buyout from a group who was actualy buying a pharmaceutical company. Personally I would not trust you as far as I could throw you and quite frankly all you have done over the course of the past few weeks has done nothing only drag the club through the mud. Turn it in ffs

Yes, kamy talks rubbish doesn't he?

Rochina and Formica don't have much in the way of Premiership experience. You can't ship out experienced players, replace them with kids and think that's OK.

Season starts in two weeks. We need bodies in now, players who have substantial experience. Not kids on the cheap.

Wouldnt say MB Diouf has tons of premiership and from watching the game against Aston Villa i think Gato has much more in him than MB Diouf ever did. However I agree we need bodies in now and especially a target man who can play the lone role in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.

We need 1 defender who can play anywhere at the back, 1 midfielder looks like Petrovic and at least 2 strikers.

SSN are now reporting that rovers have accept a bid around 6 million for Kalinic.

Also we have agree personal terms for Petrovic now just waiting for the work permit to be issue.

If people just stopped listening to all these 'insiders' and wait for a release from the club then nobody would be as disappointed. The insiders this window have not proved to know much, no disrespect to them.

It looks like we are losing Kalinic and we will be incredibly lucky not to lose Samba (and he could go when it is too late to use the proceeds).

Now given the failure to sign anyone other than Myles Anderson in the ten weeks since the season ended, what basis do we have for believing we will make signings capable of being better than Kalinic and Samba between now and 31 August?

To be stronger than last season, in addition we need players better than Jones x2, RSC and Mama Diouf to be added to the squad as well. And we have nothing meaningful in terms of Rovers staff who can make transfers happen let alone grab good players from out of the jaws of other top flight clubs around Europe.

Just sit down and be rational, we are in a terrible terrible situation.

1. We are not "losing Kalinic" we are in fact "getting rid of Kalinic" -slightly different slant would you not agree?

2. We have not sold Samba but he has been wanting to go for well over a YEAR- fault of who?

3. I agree the two Jones' are a great miss but RSC- who scored ZERO goals and MBD, have been watching the same players?

I would suggest be rational and wait until the end of the window before you spread the doom and gloom, fair?

Philip. I respect your opinions and you came across as a nice and intellectual person on the podcast.

I asked you and I ask you kindly again to back up the statement about Petrovic returning to Serbia.

This is what I posted- there is nothing that needs to be backed up:

I don't like the sound of the rumour Petrovic has had a change of mind about coming to Rovers

It is true, I don't like the sound of the rumour. He has passed his medical at Rovers three days ago and the club has not sealed the deal. We are unbelievably vulnerable to someone else stepping in and taking him especially if he is physically back in Belgrade.

Anyone know for sure where he is?

@Philip

You don't like the rumour about Petrovic going back to Serbia? You mean the rubbish written on his wiki page by a ballbag from Skipton?

It took them two updates to do it, one to add in that he had gone back and then one to remove the reference that said he should sign in the next week.

You can check these things, don't just respout unsubstatiated bullsh!t.

Most sensible post i've seen on here for weeks.

We need to replace JJ and PJ from last season for sure!

But we need a goalscorer and another striker aswell for this season. We HAVE NOT had a goalscorer since Benni McCarthy and RSC had good 1st season for rovers.

This is what we have been LACKING for the last 2 seasons a proven Goalscorer!

If we can get in 1 defender, 1 midfielder and 2 strikers then I think we will have a good season where we will finish about mid table.

I am being 100% rational based on the hard facts.

Losing Kalinic or getting rid of Kalinic, our Premier League strike force now comprises Jason Roberts and nobody else.

We don't have anybody at Rovers who knows how to complete transfers- nobody is rushing to throw names of Rovers employees at me to contradict this.

100% fair.

Phil, It isn't really Just JR though is it. If you read anythign from Roberts on Twitter you'd see that he views Hoilett as a striker. There is also Rochina and Formica and we also have Blackman coming through.

Now I'm certainly not saying that we should go into the new season with those forward players but the fact is that Roberts isn't our sole striker.

Info on Kalinic transfer.

On 3 August 2009, it was reported by Sky Sports News that Kalinić had signed for Blackburn Rovers from Hajduk Split on a four-year deal.[10] The transfer fee is believed to be in the region of £6 million.[11] On 10 August, Kalinić was successfully awarded a work permit and officially signed for Blackburn. However, his début was delayed as he had to return from Croatia to collect his permit, meaning he was not officially registered in time for Rovers' opening game of the season against Manchester City.

But hey just spread uncertainty amongst members as you wish.

I can also remember anyone that there were a lot of "issues" about Mauro Formica and not getting a passport in the January transfer window reported from our insiders such as Nicko.

That is why I used the term Premier League strike force.

None of the players you have mentioned have started a PL game as either the 1 in a 4-5-1 or in a 2 in a 4-4-2.

With the sale of Kalinic we are now down to just 15 players who have started more than one PL game.

That Ricky means Relegation.

Alex, I would agree that that Hoilett, Formica and Rochina will score goals this season and Olsson and Nzonzi will score a couple of goals a season but can't be relying on a DM and LB to score 10 goals a season but I still think we need a proven goalscorer and another striker least.

One striker would have pace and another would be a target man.
