Im not saying he's a bad player as I have only seen him 2/3 times but it is a massive step up, and I was going to mention about Blackman peforming in that league but it has already been mentioned.

On a positive note, James McCarthy has done really well since joining Wigan...and he was playing for Hamilton!

being linked with cr*p again i see, whats new? its one thing looking good in the scandanavian leagues and irish league etc but its a huge step up to the premiership, something which i thing these guys wont be able to make. As for goodwillie, why are we after a player blackpool want? Championship football is probably his level.

Just because Blackpool want him it doesn't make him a bad player. Rangers have also made a bid for him too but that was also turned down.

Strange how people forget - it wasn't too long ago that most of the message board was trying to get us to buy the last Scottish player Blackpool signed. As you have said - a stupid thing to say.

yes but my point is blackpool is a championship club now and thats probably his level, i dont see too many premiership clubs queing up to buy him.

Blackpool were in the Championship when they signed Adam!

Steve Kean's latest wit and wisdom as shared with Sky Sports:

Spending

Yet, Kean insists the club were never going to adopt a free spending policy under the new owners.

"Different teams have got different models," he added.

"Manchester City wants to spend, they want to achieve and go very quickly. We're going to do it slightly differently.

"We've got the senior players like Michel Salgado, Paul Robinson, Ryan Nelsen, we've got a senior group and then we're going to continue to improve the young players. It's each to their own."

my point is he aint good enough

I'm not saying you are wrong, but I don't quite understand why you think he's not good enough.

Have you actually seen him play? Or did you base his worth on the league he is playing in and the fact that Blackpool was bidding for him? Or the 2 million fee tagged onto him?

black burn i have only seen him on tv a few times last season and he didnt strike me as 'all that'. Im not saying he wouldnt be a good squad player, my point is he better not be the main striker otherwise we are fooked. As for kean's latest ramblings, i dont even listen to anything that bald nobber says, he talks out of his ass.

Just remind me .............Where is Adam playing this next season? Oh yes Liverpool that's it.

But then look who the manager of Liverpool is..... somebody called Kenny Dalglish and he is a Scot as well, so what does he know about football?

That was always Kean's vision - with so called younger development players. The marquee players came from our owners. To be honest a mixture of the two is ideal - as Rovers do possibly need a high profile player or two to increase the clubs media image - getting them in is another matter.

At the end of the day nobody at the club ever said we had £50m to spend - I think Kean said we had the biggest budget we have had for some time. Given the constraints under the Trust that could have been anything from tuppence upwards. The £50m came indirectly from Nicko - who never actually said we had that budget - but had a list of players we were after that would cost that much.

Time to judge is 31st August - then you can put the boot in.

That's the point he's making? Just because a Championship club want him doesn't mean he's automatically not good enough for the Premier League.

Bingo. Thought that was self-explanatory.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

A few guys at Ewood Park's Finest have watched him play and they reckon he's got talent though. Though he tends to be hot-headed. Another guy admits that the Scottish League is worlds apart from the Premiership, but added that Goodwillie might be a risk worth taking.

Come on dave, Keano thought he was going to have a substantial budget, he said so himself, I think we can safely that he would have expected to AT LEAST spend the proceeds of any player sales.

He's obviously going to hide his disapointment, he might learn to keep his trap shut in future.

venkys did say some time ago, that in conjunction with the people they now have in place, they have a strategy that they believe is the right way to take the club forward and upwards. whether this is the right way to go about it, only time will tell. they obviously believe in what they are doing, and fair play too.

very easy for any of us to sit here and criticise for the way they are approaching and planning the clubs future, because if it don't work out we are ###### and all the naysayers will be out in force. i have been very critical about this whole process but i am also willing to hang fire on my opinion about whether or not this strategy is gonna work.

At the moment I wait until the end of August to see how much we have spent. If it is less than the Phil Jones & Kalanic money - I think they have some explaining to do. Personally I don't buy any of this "installments" bull - as we will also be buying on installments - and in most cases always have. At the moment we don't appear to be anywhere near spending it so far - but it could all change on one player.
