Kalinic can go. He hasnt cut it in 2 years here, playing under 2 managers who play very different styles. We wont miss him and if we can get Raul in as a replacement then I reckon we've done very well.

But it's another man down, with little sign of anyone coming in. Our squad's getting weaker by the minute. I'd rest easier seeing a name or two come in before we offload another first-team player.

And when Raul leaves/retires in 12 months and we no longer have a £4 million striker to sell to find a replacement, what then?

I can't imagine a less sustainable way of running a football club.

To be clear, I would love Raul at the club. He is still class and I think he would get us 12-15 goals. I would prefer to keep Kalinic if possible. I think he is class in the making. If we have to sell a striker, sell Roberts. Throw in Kean, Andrews and Grella as freebies. But I suspect my opinions are of little weight with the owners.

Don't be sad Mr. Moss, it seems that our managers opinion has less weight than helium so it should in fact gladden your heart that your opinion on matters are worth about the same.

You also have the bonus of having a mind of your own in the first place.

He didn't really get any chances after Kean stepped in, did he?

As it looks now, he could be great to have in the squad IMO.

Selling your best players and signing dimming stars is the bench mark for all successful teams.

Guess what Topman - I agree

I suspect, or desperately hope rovers find the replacement before he's sold. If Niko is sold, we need to bring in three more strikers. What's the chances of that happening?

Probably because Cryer updates on Twitter throghout the day, responding to National reports.

The National reports go to print the night before, a lot can change overnight.

That's why we get News faster these days, instead of waiting for tomorrows paper.

At 34 Raul is undeniably dimming but he was still scoring in The Champions League last season. Were it not for The Trust's signature stiffling parsimony he would have been strutting his stuff for us and undoubtably would have notched comfortably enough to keep us out of the soft stuff and cover his wages in League placing payments.

He's a year older but still a class act. Of course, I'm not daft enough to get my hopes up.

Actually it would be slander and the onus would be on the plaintiff to prove they'd been damaged.

http://www.out-law.com/page-9330

Then I bow to your professional expertise on the matter.

The interpretation you posted was that bulletin board postings are more likely to be slander rather than libel. It's not for me to interpret or argue that point of law, however it still remains true to say that if it was a libel then the onus of proof would be on Nicko.

It's not my turf so I don't want to get into arm wrestling or d!ck measuring on the topic, it's not central to the point. The point being that to throw caution to the wind and publish such a thing in 'writing' is a strong indication that Nicko must feel very secure of his facts ( again whether writing something electronically is different to writing something in hard copy is by the by in this context).

Even if it were 'only' slanderous then if the facts are faulty I think it would be easy for Venkys/Barclays to prove the slander and then we are back to the consequences/damages aspect of the post.

I think you are making a distinction without a difference then in the strict context of my post to Nicko, but thanks for the pedantry.

So back to Nicko - Nicko given the above and the earlier post are you that confident in your expressed opinion/facts? I still think it's very serious stuff.

Guest Rovers4Good

Who gives a monkies uncle where Jensen is? I'm more concerned by the fact that we can't seem to attract any half decent players at the moment and that doesn't look like changing in the immediate future. :(

Has anyone read the Daily Mail today?

Saying that Kean may have to sell some of his top players to reduce Venky's overdraft. Going from bad to worse. :(

Doesnt make sense to move ur top goalscorer for an ageing star...even though he wasnt playing under kean he was still scoring regular for croatia and has future potential....who are we left with up front...ah Roberts the best one on one finisher in the prem

Completely agree Athlete. - apart from Niko being good enough. To be honest, I don't want Niko or any 34 yr old strikers here. We can't ever get to the stage of having just Roberts at Ewood though - even for 5 minutes.

The daily mail article is like they been on here and read everything that has been said and then decided to write it, worst paper on sale in my eyes very lazy journalists and always copying other papers articles 24 hours after they been published

Speculation: Reports in Russia claim an unnamed Russian club are battling Blackburn to sign Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones. From SSN

unless they dropped there asking price by half I wouldn't even go near it, I wouldn't even try and get in a bidding war ether will just push the price up

arsenal have bid for Phil Jagielka according to ssn, if true and there pursuing him i cant see them wanting samba also

Wouldnt really care too much if we lost Kalinic, he never ever seems to settle in the Premier League anyway, so if we could get a good replacement I see it only as an upgrade really.

Hope we get some good money for him, though.

but will the money be given straight to kean for replacement that's the question, if he leaves that's 6 less so far with none brought in

I see leaking the Raul story to a few gullible types has successfully managed to throw a sheet over the fire for a few days. In another couple of days, the flames will burn through. Sadly.

oh will you put a sock in it please, you always do it, its really irritating

Now what`s the point in posting that when you know you will get 20 questions asking what you know,to which you will reply :"I can`t tell you yet".

Pointless!!

Sorry Lee,

I overlooked the undeniable fact that you are the most plausible provider of information on the messageboard these days.
