People were originally slating the potential of us signing Pavone or Park beacause of their scoring record, yet also want Andy Johnson?? And most of his goals came from penalties!!

Breaking news: Up until yesterday Venkys thought the transfer window opened august 1. They have now been informed otherwise and are ready to splash some cash! True story, a friend of a friend of a friend of an reliable source says so!

Sounds like bobbins to me, how did we sell P. Jones if they thought the transfer window wasn't open!? Too many 'reliable sources' floating round on here

I hope your joking.

Excited about these potential attacking players, but we still need to replace Jones. What happened to mongongu?

Wayne Bridge is a player I have always rated, If we play Martin Olsson more on the wing and thats Steve Keans thinking for the season then LB Givet? Not for me hes played good their last season at times but hes a much better center half. Wayne Bridge on loan would be a good addition hes a talented physically fit player

Wayne Bridge is awful. I'm still having nightmares about his performance against Croatia in 2007 which confirmed that we wouldn't be going to the Euro 2008. Someone from the Independent wrote about his performance that night:

Wayne Bridge will never again play so badly as he did last night, a performance so woeful that it seemed inconceivable that he could do so many things wrong.

Well he was wrong! When he joined West Ham earlier this year on loan as West Ham tried to buy/loan their way out of trouble - on his debut against Arsenal they lost 3-0 and Wayne Bridge was at fault for all three goals!

I stopped rating Wayne Bridge a long time ago. This is besides the fact that his wage demands (which anything over £1 per week would be too much) would be exhorbitant since he'll be on a bucketload at City. The further away he stays from Ewood the better imo.

I think the guy who posted was saying it a bit tongue in cheek. Don't think he meant it.

It's hard to gauge sarcasm through text, plus it wouldn't be the 1st misinformed post on here would it?

Patronisation on the other hand...

True. But I think 'a friend of a friend of a friend' totally sealed it.

Apologies for the comment didn't mean to be patronising.

The more you distance yourself away from this thread the more pathetic it reads when you come back to it.

0 players signed, 0 loans signed, a million feelers sent out to a million players is it?

So many people discussing jonny foreigner they have forgot to focus on the main event, we are four players down from a relegation squad and we still dont have any additions or contract extensions to talk about.

I hope I am wrong and we have nipped Hoilett in the bud and managed to sign a midfield meastro and a striker who knows where the net is, without reading back 20 pages of Mirror links to some carlos kickaball from the depths of the chicken eating south American land are we actually going to sign anyone worth honouring the mighty blue and white halves?

This reply is epic.

But it's not a million. It's 71. ;)

jonathan spector could be a decent signing - free transfer i read ....can play in numerous positions and is actually pretty decent - im not talking bout as a main player but would add to the depth of the squad

Spector and Bridge, no thanks.

Phew!

Just checked back through the thread and Rovers are NOT linked with going for either of those steaming piles of uselessness.

Really like the route we are going. Young and hungry (seemingly correct attitude) with technique and pace blended in with a few of the good experienced lads (Roberts, Nelsen, Samba, Robinson, Gamst)

I'm happy enough with all the names we're going for as long as we also get a big name striker like Podolski. Would look a far better team then. If we can't get mongu then I'm surprised we haven't gone for upson on a free. He'd be a good option to have as a free transfer.
