Roverino Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Yeah lets compare with The Trust, they stopped giving us any money for transfers around 2007/2008 and it was decreed on here that that would only end one way and they were slaughtered by some. Venky's are continuing the Trust policy of re-investing SOME transfer fees and putting in nothing of their own money and this is seen as a positive by the very same people? Nothing has changed from The Trust era. Now, if BRFC are to be a buy cheap sell high club, lets here it from the owners and stop the BS. The point of my post, is that even if Venky's do continue the trust policy, then so be it. As far as I'm aware, there arent any multi billion russian obligarch/ Arab Sheik's with a passion for Blackburn Rovers who want to pish their money away on it.

Roverino Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 except we are now seen as a joke club by other fans , the media , etc Erm, nobody likes us, we dont care.
Taggart Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 The BadCock, sorry GoodWillie is on his way to Ewood according to ryer which is good news !
yeti-dog Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 except we are now seen as a joke club by other fans , the media , etc And you care why exactly?? It looks like moves are afoot to strengthen our admittedly threadbare squad. If these happen and we get it together where it matters,on the pitch with results then are you really going to give a sh!t what other fans/media etc think? Personally,I won't give a toss and will enjoy sticking it back up their noses...
Mattyblue Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 To be honest, even when we were a superbly run club, we got little credit from MOST media outlets(few exceptions, Henry Winter, Patrick Barclay) or opposing fans, so no change now. By reading online forums/newspapers most fans just use it as an excuse to see who can come up with the shitest chicken pun they can. All I care about is that the club improves on and off the pitch, on that score I seem little progress.
LeChuck Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 The BadCock, sorry GoodWillie is on his way to Ewood according to ryer which is good news ! Let's hope everyone gets these awful jokes about his name out of the way before he arrives. I'm not sure I can handle a full season of it.
Lancs Rover Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Anyone remember Rovers trying to engage Sven when he was at Lazio and at the peak of his managerial reputation. I think we were champions or had been the year before. We had Walker's millions still and Champions League experience and/or potential. Jack wanted to push on and become long-term title-winning contenders. Sven was tapped up, ready to go and then mysteriously remembered he had family commitments in Italy. A couple of years ago, Tord Grip revealed the reason why Sven hadn't come to the Rovers. In a word: Blackburn. While we are all starry-eyed on here about our town and our team, those who are going to make a difference where it matters aren't. One thing is clear, reading these posts, we are all committed to our Rovers, even if we don't generally agree. For those who don't share our romantic vision, Blackburn and the Rovers is a hard sell, even more so for those shy of a relegation fight. If only for this reason, we have to give Venky's a chance to build something longer term, not merely build false hopes with signings to keep the fans quiet.

All you read on here is that 'we are punching above our weight', or we are 'just a small town club'. Hardly delusions of grandeur.

SG192 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 [quote name= ' timestamp='1312276947' post='1112951] Before I start this little rant, I'd like to point out a couple of things. 1) Im not a Venky's PR machine. 2) Im neither pro/anti Venky's, Im pro Rovers. Why accuse our owners of Asset Stripping? What damn assets are there to strip? We've sold our best young player and that didnt even break Venky's even. We represent the best value for money tickets in the whole of the premier/football league. They could have raised the prices by hundreds should they wish. They did not. If the trust were still in charge, and we were after the signings we are supposedly aiming for, I doubt there'd be the same uproar. Its quite clear to me that Venky's do have the clubs best interest at heart. What good would it do them to cock this up? (No pun intended) We sold Jones for £16million plus and we were told the money would be available for reinvestment. We havent been paid the full amount in one, so we cannot reinvest the full amount in one. Plus, if the banks decide they want to keep hold of the cash, what exactly do you expect Balaji and company to do. I know he looks like he'd be capable of it but I doubt they'll be planning an Indian Oceans 11 style raid on the vaults of Barclays Bank. In all honesty some of the posters on here will not be happy whoever we sign, however little/however much we spend, whoever the manager is, however many season tickets we sell etc etc. And do you know what? There is NOTHING we can do about the ownership of the club. They have bought it. It is theirs. All this ranting and raving - VENKY'S OUT VENKYS OUT rubbish will do nothing other than bring down the atmosphere at fortress ewood. Get behind the team, even if there is only 9 of them at the start of the season, stop slating the potential new signings before they've even arrive. If you were Goodwillie etc and you took a look at this forum, or heard about it at least, and saw your potential 'supporters' ripping you to shreds before you'd even kicked a ball, you know what, I'd probably think sod it aswell. Not every player is solely interested in their wage. I'm not a pessimist, I'm not unambitious, I'm realistic. Get behind the blue and whites or stay at home, sod your season tickets and LEAVE THIS CLUB ALONE!!!!! Roverino! Where have you been all summer? Great post and thanks for saving me the trouble. It may take you a while, but I think it would be worth the effort - post this on every thread on the message board - it's relevant to them ALL!!!!
Lancs Rover Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 And now he's currently living it up in erm... Leicester. Loving it up, surely...
Taggart Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Let's hope everyone gets these awful jokes about his name out of the way before he arrives. I'm not sure I can handle a full season of it. Yep - that is my last one, on re-reading my post, I actually went for the -1 button myself !
LeChuck Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Yep - that is my last one, on re-reading my post, I actually went for the -1 button myself ! Yours just happened to be the last I had read. It wasn't the worst oddly enough.

AJW Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 anybody think David Trezeguet could do a job at Rovers? without a club apparently
BigBar Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 anybody think David Trezeguet could do a job at Rovers? without a club apparently Hmmmmmm do we really wanna go there??

ERIKS666 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 And now he's currently living it up in erm... Leicester. and whats wrong with sunny leicester apart from a s@#t football team.... 666 Rovers forever
Mattyblue Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 If you want to know about finances can you take it somewhere else? this is suposed to be just transfers. and the Transfer Window Chat Thread has all this mumbo jumbo in it. And it's getting tiring looking through that for stuff because this has no become a huge debate about finances rather than transfers. And the latest I have seen about Samba, Goodwillie and Petrovic: Goodwillie - On his way back to Scotland Seems that we wanted Kean to be there for the medical so he hasn't had it. But Rangers still haven't had a bid accepted. Petrovic - Still waiting on work permit and has supossedly sorted bid and agreed terms with player. Samba - Everton want Samba?. Seen a few reports of this. But wouldn't be european football so surely he would stay here? I do love the fans that think the finances of the club are just 'mumbo jumbo' whilst they reel off another list of players.

Wilsbowski Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Can't be bothered bringing the Jermaine Jones thread back to life but apparently his wife wants to stay in England. http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/tv_and_showbiz/s/1454356_former-miss-germany-prefers-to-stay-in-cheshire Oh and I would!
Eddie Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Samba could be agents talking , but Everton fans are sceptical that if Jagielka is sold the money will be reinvested as they are that much in debt , the money most likely will go the bank ( ring any bells ) Difference being that everton are seriously in debt.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted August 2, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted August 2, 2011 LOL I do love people claiming Roverinsider's word as gospel. Especially given that he wrote Samba was at a hotel meeting Arsenal, when the camera panned to him watching our game with Kitchee from the stands People just believe all the negatives to suit their agenda, shock horror!
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Swansea are in for him. How old is he now? Probably a good backup striker but not doubt huge wages.
ptholt Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 except we are now seen as a joke club by other fans , the media , etc Sadly we have been seen that way since we were relegated from the prem and our bubble truly burst, many neutrals were sad to see blackpool be relegated, many neutrals really didn't care if we dropped as our contribution has been fairly stale for quite some time in terms of what we bring to the premier league.
