dubdubdub under the trust we werent expecting anything, under these lot we were promised funds to make us a top 10 club. thats the difference between this summer and last.

deryk, yes i have moaned, rightly so, 'the glass is always half full' brigade annoy me because they wont admit that things havent gone well, instead they gibber on about 'things arent as bad as we make out' load of rubbish. When things start to pick, if they pick up, then i will change my tune but until then i have every right to be worried and annoyed.

Sadly we have been seen that way since we were relegated from the prem and our bubble truly burst, many neutrals were sad to see blackpool be relegated, many neutrals really didn't care if we dropped as our contribution has been fairly stale for quite some time in terms of what we bring to the premier league.

But what did Blackpool bring? They played 38 games and got relegated.

We have finished top 6 twice, 7th, top half on numerous ocassions since we were re-promoted, plus European campaigns and 6 cup semi finals.

More than Newcastle, Everton, Villa, Sunderland etc have offered over the last decade.

Our 'unfashionable tag' clouds peoples opinions.

Fans these days so often forget this, our recent record has been great.

So when we are 1-0 going in to the final stages of a game and the 'Glass Half Full Brigade' are willing the team on you'll be bellyaching because you are 'worried and annoyed'?

Right.

To be fair, that's not what he is saying, is he?

It's all in the interpretation I suppose. To me it suggests that, as he isn't keen on what is going on at the club, he's going to moan and bitch about it. This is in contrast to others who, whilst not being comfortable about recent developments at Ewood, know that whining does no good whatsoever and maybe want to keep the pressure off naive and floundering owners. For the sake of the club.

I may be wrong but Roverandout's posts suggest, to me, that I'm not.

It's a message board though dirk. A place to vent and verbally joust.

At Ewood Park I'll be getting behind the lads for 90 minutes, as will most of the Negative Nellies on here.

Reading the various Andrews threads, a lot of the 'positive', 'give 'em a chance' brigade think nothing of booing one of their own players everytime he gets the ball...

what's more damaging to the club?

Savage- "Blackburn Rovers was a fantastic club".

"Rovers were a club of the community and knew how to do things the right way."

I really like Robbie Savage. He was a fantastic signing for us and a far better player than he was ever given credit for. That said I'm not overly keen on his contributions on 606. Sony Awards or not I think he talks some rubbish on there as well a smidgen of common sense.

Sav's comments are in contrast to those made by players currently at the club which are probably more valid than his given that he left the club a number of years ago.

Of course your agenda has prevented you from posting the comments of current players hasn't it?

I do love the fans that think the finances of the club are just 'mumbo jumbo' whilst they reel off another list of players.

I'm not saying its irellevant. But seen as none of us have any idea how much Venkys really have or are willing to invest its stupid to keep on talking about it. And my point was that this isnn't the place for the talk about it. This was supossed to be the thread just for transfer talk and the other has all the finance and everything related to transfers in.

I do believe this was so people didn't have to sift through 50 pages of ###### to find out who we have been linked to and who is supossedly interested in our players. <_<

And as for reeling off another list of players, they're all players we have been interested in and put bids in for so its more relevant than you talking about finances you have no chance of figuring out much about without knowing the wealth of the owners.

Also Andrews on his way out. Would normally make me happy as I don't rate him, but we have lost enough players and not brought replacements in yet as it is.

Unless it comes down to open revolt, you're not going to hear dissenting voices from the dressing room.

Someone not in the employ of the club, but who may retain useful connections to people still there, may have more useful comments.

All depends on your point of view, really.

Well, that's a fair point. Open revolt would be something akin to turkeys voting for Christmas. No pun intended.

That said, if you were truly disenchanted with the direction the club was taking, would you say that everything is rosy or maybe just say nothing at all?. Do you really think the likes of Dunn, Roberts and Pederson are that gutless and shallow?

They are paid professionals. Odds are very high that they are contracted not to disparage the club and to participate in PR when requested.

And exactly who has signed? Maybes and pendings do not count.

If and when we sign 5 solid reliable professionals, then I'll reconsider. But to date we've been hemorrhaging players and have replaced no one.

Passive aggressive you mean?

Yeah, that's true. Nelsen and Roberts are the only Rovers Fans I'm aware of at the moment. I don't know if there's been any more.

It is hard to read between the lines on all of this. Just look at the Goodwillie transfer.

I'm definitely prepared to be proved wrong on the Venky's stewardship, and happily so. But thus far, it's like being one of those fellas at posh restaurants who parks your car for you. But in this case, they drive a hummer through a wall.

They are indeed paid professionals but there is no evidence that their integrity can be bought. If they were truly disenchanted with Venkys they could just as easily say nothing.

Hang on re signings Steve. We seem to be just about to capture a promising, young centre forward at a bargain price. If that is it by the start of the season I wont be happy but the general concensus is that it wont be.

I'll have to put more petrol in the car if I have to take him to Ipswich instead of Leeds.

I'd forgotten about Nelsen. I think Pederson has said positive things about Venkys too although I may be wrong on that. A bit disparaging to refer to them as 'Rovers Fans' but ho hum.

Glad you are prepared to be proved wrong. Hope you are because if you aren't we are truly Thomas Cooked.

From MGP's blog:

I, Jason Roberts and Ryan Nelsen have gone to India to visit our new owners. We went straight from Hong Kong when the rest of Blackburn Rovers went home to England. We have had a fantastic trip here so far, and it’s a beautiful country with incredible hospitality. We have talked a bit with the owners and we are excited and pleased with what the future will bring.

and here's Dunny:

"If we keep strengthening, get a few more players in, maybe a midfielder and a striker, there's no reason why we can't finish top 10," he said.

"Who knows, if we start well and end well, there's no reason why we can't finish a little bit higher."

and:

"I feel pretty confident about this season, not over-confident but all the lads fitness-wise are really good and training's been going really well."

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/9166157.Dunn_senses_bright_future_for_Blackburn_Rovers/

Salgado: “I have seen the advert this morning and to be honest it has turned out better than I thought. It was a lovely day for us and it was a lot of fun we did eight hours’ filming for 26 seconds.

“It shows Venky’s are prepared to put our name around the world. I hope I get free chicken for life now!”

People keep saying Venky's are naive in the football world, yet slam them for not paying £10-15m for a new striker. Let's say we signed that Cisse bloke. £12m wasn't it? And a reported £70,000 week? So a record signing and wage-breaker to boot. And what if he's the next Ali Dia? That's an expensive mistake to make. No one can plough money into a football club and expect to make a profit. 'Buy low, sell high' is the right model for success. That doesn't mean we should rummage around the bargain bin, but it also means we don't pay stupid money, if the owners don't have the hard cash to back it up. We'll only be the ones paying for it in the end (see: Pompey).

Of course, Venky's have done themselves no favours spouting talk of CL football, but at least they toned it down towards the end of last season, with Balaji aiming for Top 8 and a cup. That's not outside the realms of our club.

There you have it Tony. Neither of these lads have ever done anything to suggest that their integrity is for sale.

Btw 25 degrees and sunny here tommorow in the midst of an Adelaide mid winter :D

And each of them have made highly qualified and conditional statements which are not outright endorsements of the owners, based on the quotes posted above.

So what exactly has been "proven"? That we could do well with some transfers and some solid play? Absolutely. Let's see the needed five or so transfers and let's see how we do versus the Wolves. And on that note, when is the squad due back in England?
